Hello. It’s is the most ghastly of evenings! Was back to the long coat and wooly hat for the very ( very) quick doggy walk! It’s lashing with rain and cold and yuk!So my day began with my daughter saying ‘ you could run me to work’ ( not I noted, could you run me to work?) so as I’m nice I did and then went to big supermarket down far end of town…to get stuff I can’t get in my local store. At that point it was a lovely morning! So as I go to get a trolley I walk past the RTC plants…and end up filling my trolley! So that’s what this weeks tips bought! 8 lavender plants, 2 ‘standard’ lavender trees and 2 trays of pansies. So had to go pay for that, take it to car and then go back in for more boring essentials! All very RTC plants! Was delighted…can not possibly pass a reduced lavender…all they need is love ( and usually a drink!) paid for the grocery shopping with cash from my sales.
Then I thought oh I’ll go to the charity shop down this end of town. Found a lovely crystal vase. Now when we got married we got so much crystal stuff ( apart from one remaining thing and don’t want to jinx it 😆) and all broken over the years and even then it felt a bit ‘old fashioned’ but that’s what it was at the time and you just said thank you for a very kind gift…that and towels😆 but now I’ve actually reached the age where I like crystal vases. So it’s filled with very RTC from last week eucalyptus and looking lovely and happy in it’s new home. Then…I turned around and there was the hugest dolls house and a shoe box filled with furniture! I was delighted and hummed and hawed ( it’s 3 foot tall by 3 foot wide) and needs a lot of love but ooooh what a find and what a project. Messaged DD1 in Australia and she said yes. So I’ll blame her. Went to pay and phone pay wouldn’t work…hmm. Then it dawned on me I hadn’t activated my new bank card and I had had texts and emails reminding me to! Grrrr! So had to go all the way home ( way at other side of town) dump plants and shopping , hello doggy but I’m just going out again) grab card and all the way down to other end of town again! Then had to lug it in the house. Gave it a hoover and find it a home! ( which I did by getting the measuring tape out to see if it would fit first! ) then video called DD1 and we oohed and awhed some more and had a nice chat and catch up for an hour.
Took friends dog and son out for a walk. A very charming young chap who’s on holiday from nursery. We saw many cars! Then I got a text later to say ‘ it was the greatest walk ever’ which I had thought so too! So a good deed done, good company and some exercise!Made cheese on toast for lunch. On bread I’d got in a too good to go bag the other week and was in freezer so just took a couple of slices out and very nice it was too.
Found outlander! Hurrah! So I’ve rather binge watched that today to catch up! Was going to read but I’ve watched instead.Chat with sister on phone. Telling her all about my dolls house ( don’t think she gets my delight!) and my selling stuff stories…why can’t folk just turn up when they say they will, hand over the cash and say thank you…nah! That would be too easy! Anyway I said what are you having for tea. Chicken Kiev ( and how we now pronounce it differently than we did before) oooh said I have some in the freezer…RTC. So that’s what I had for my tea. All by myself! With some rice, broccoli and cauliflower and carrots.Had a couple of things to make appointments for that I’ve been procrastinating about so that’s all sorted for next week. Tick off the mental list of stuff to do!And apart from the times I’d been out which weren’t very long I’ve had the company of my doggy boy. Currently snoring very gently at my feet!12 -
Pleasures for today

My first post here, which I guess will be one of my pleasures of the day.
- Quite a mild day. Didn't have to use the CH at all for perhaps the first or second time this year.
- Nibbling all the chocolate from a KitKat finger. Have been doing since I was a little girl, and never tire of it
- Bought some scented candles from B&M - buy 5 get 5 free. Smell very nice and add a bit of cosy warmth to the living room this evening.
- Bought two Easter eggs from Aldi, although one suspects they may not see the light of day come Easter

MHags - I think it is Alan Titchmarsh who spends a lot of time kitting out his dolls house. Little niece has got mine now.
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) More tidying and cleaning.
3) My mum popped in. Dad has all the symptoms of covid (and my brother surely gave it to them when he had it last week) but tested negative. Whatever it was, he is on the mend now. He self isolated for nearly 2 years as he is in heart failure.
4) Took smaller son to Tesco. We just have the tiniest of little coughs left now.
5) Did an online zoom course about bats!
6) Managed (goodness knows how) to get smaller son to do 15 minutes of GCSE revision. He does actually know some biology but he panics, doesn't read the question properly, then claims not to know anything or puts a 2 word answer. If you have a chat about the question, he will tell you all sorts of things! We've done questions on fungi, bacteria and eyes so far. We'll also have a good go at maths but I'm wondering whether to just leave English as that's really not going to happen. (He is taking 3).
And has a match actually taken place if smaller son and I aren't in the highlights video? I'm in the green, he's the tall one in the grey. .

1. Spring flowers on the road verges. Also the tree carvings on our road.
2. Support of 2 people at work. Much needed.
3. Email exchange with another colleague. It made me smile.
4. Time in the garden to relax.
5. Enjoying my book.10 -
Good morning. It is too! Sunny again after lots of rain yesterday
Welcome Zola Buddy. You'll like it here. It's a good place to be.
Mhagster - honestly you do more in a day than I do in a week. Could you slow down please? You make the rest of us look bad - well apart from Ampersand. And D Doll. And several others! Perhaps it's just me who lets the side down😂
For example, yesterday. A stroll round a shopping centre on a mission to find a washing up brush. One in Asda was £2.75 and I couldn't bring myself to pay that. None in three other shops I checked but finally found some. They were 59p each so I recklessly bought two!
Back home for lunch. Did the crossword ( not finished yet!) And made chilli in slow cooker. Bit of tidying. Bit of sewing.
Friend came round. We ate chilli, drank wine and chatted.
That's about an average day for me. The rest of you would do that before lunch, run a marathon and sort out the UN in a normal day!
More pottering on the cards today.
Happy busy Wednesday everyone

Morning all
Happycas, thanks for that. Made me laugh too.
Waves a hello to ZolaBuddy.
My recent five:
1. Watching a solitary bee enjoy the primroses in the garden.
2. Continuing to make inroads into my procrastination-busting project.
3. The discussions on other threads about line drying washing.
4. Finding a cheque for £5 that had been misfiled and I'd forgotten about - putting it in the bank shortly. Every little helps (a lot).
5. Scrambled tofu and veg for supper again last night. It's become a favourite.
Enjoy your Wednesdays.

DH’s lergy was contagious, but it took a long time to catch I didn’t fall until 7 days later, we are both mainly better but haven't been out for an age.
1 Our phones were delivered a week earlier than expected.
2 The house hasn’t been cleaned at all since the lergy so hoovered the house today and changed our bedding.
3 We have a wall at the bottom of the garden that needed some maintenance, so I removed all the soil from the top, then started removing stone and brick to reach a start point for new cement, then set to mixing the cement together understanding why people fork out for it pre mixed, but it was too pricey. I mixed up various loads while DH started re building. Still a lot to continue tomorrow. Nice weather to be doing it.
4 We’ve eaten mainly easy and bad for us food as and when.
5 New microwave delivered, happy days.
