Good morning. Still windy here but sunny too so we'll settle for that.
Ampersand - lovely to see you. You're unstoppable! Hope the tooth thing goes well. Sounds a bit ouchy!
Another good walk yesterday with lots of blossom to admire. So good that DH can enjoy such things again.
Fish pie for tea. Been my favourite dish since childhood. I added a small piece of salmon to the cod and finnan haddock. It was delicious if I say so myself!
Rewatching George Gently. We've seen them all before but forgotten most of it so we're enjoying that.
I'm watching The Split. Not DH cup of tea but I like it, not least for the beautiful clothes and shoes! Shallow, that's me!
I'm meeting a friend this morning. We've not met face to face since Christmas so there'll be lots to catch up on.
Happy windy day everyone12 -
Think I must have fallen asleep before even getting round to posting pleasures.I have new windows! Hurrah! Looking forward to it being warm enough or dry enough to open them 😆
Nice chaps, left everything neat and tidy. However it did mean that I spent most of a very wet Tuesday stuck in one room with a wet dog ( complete with wet dog smell! ) but read and watched some stuff. Walks were of the wet variety. A too good to go pasta bake for tea with veggies.Yesterday was spent quite quietly. Reading and watching stuff. RTC cottage pie for tea with veggies. Dog walked for a friend. Very blustery and somehow managed to catch up on my washing and got it mainly dried between showers.Rain was so heavy last night…screeched at DD2 why have you put the washing machine on at 11pm when I went to let dog out…I haven’t! said she. She hadn’t. It was such heavy rain on the velux windows that it actually sounded like the washing machine was on ( and if it had been would just have been for her uniform as everything else was done …hence the screech! )13 -

Quiet day, bit of reading, watching, walking doggy.
Dried up in the afternoon but still breezy so a washing was out and almost dried. Hurrah!Decluttered a few things today. Some to go tomorrow. Too much stuff at the moment. It can overwhelm! I try to have a one in and one out policy which had kind of lapsed so I think I’m caught up.13 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to the library (again) to print out the correct part of the voucher I have bought for bigger son's girlfriend's 21st birthday.
4) Popped to the charity shop and found the exact 1950s and 1960s glass lampshades my sister is looking for. Sent her some photos then bought 4 for £20.
5) Went to my sister's to drop off lampshades.
6) Went to Waitrose and was admiring their jute bags and talking to a Waitrose lady. She ran one through the till for me and brought it back, saying she could give me one for free at her discretion! Also bought some halloumi.

For yesterday,
Despite lying awake in the early hours listening to the wind howling around the cottage a walk around first thing showed a roof still intact!
Food shopping first thing and picked up a rtc CB lasagne which was our lunch.
A diminutive elderly lady was struggling to reach something on a high shelf so obviously volunteered to help, she thanked me and said good job you are so lovely & tall, I’m 5ft4…made me smile 😊
Lovely evening out with my DB, we went to the Arts theatre to see a play, first time in a theatre since pre-pandemic, all good.
Driving through Uni City and slight burning smell, maybe clutch, dropped off DB and please mini get me home, pleased to say that despite detour due to roadworks he did. Gave DB the technological equivalent of 3 rings to say was home safely. Will ring garage today.11 -
Another day of quiet. Beautiful sunrise and sunsetting just now.A day of so many phone calls! Don’t think I’ve spoken to so many people on the phone in ages!Received a book from DD1 for my birthday/ Mothers Day. I started it this afternoon and I have just finished it!Nice when it was sunny. Then it was hailstones then snow!Did a bit in the garden. Planted 5 shrubs that I’d got very RTC the other week. Moved fruit trees to where I wanted them to be.Alarm set for silly o’clock!13

Evening all
I do like reading all your pleasures. 😊
Five recent ones from me:
1. Made Jack Monroe's carrot, cumin and bean burgers using a tin of British carlin peas for supper - what a useful, tasty recipe! Hadn't made it before and it will now become a staple. I'll experiment with making it with lots of different kinds of pulses now.
2. Sunbathing mid-day through the open window.
3. Caught up on the first episode of the third series of Secrets of the Museum about the behind the scenes work at the V&A.
4. Packed another box of books to sell.
5. Just put a hot water bottle into my bed and found some clean pyjamas. I didn't light the woodburner as planned so I'm going to curl up in bed with a book.
Sweet dreams
