Did I hear mention of sausages on a stick? My mum always did a huge roasting pan of cocktail sausages for her parties and I was chief sausage stabber! A most warm memory, thankyou Admiral.

Pleasures for today (Friday) (No northern lights seen from here last night).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to feed the hens and Mrs L has bought 2 new chickens! They were cowering inside the sleeping quarters. They'll be fine by tomorrow.
3) Seemed to be a lot of housework built up over the 2 days when I was ill so did 2 loads of washing, washing up etc.
4) Took smaller son to Tesco.
5) He has a bit of a cough now, but another negative test.
6) Made some nice pittas for tea.
7) Enjoyed HIGNFY then Gogglebox.10 -
Morning! It’s a beautiful morning here in an absolutely freezing cold kind of way!I’ve been to work and back and had a nice big doggy walk as the sun was coming up. Had to scrape car to go to work and then had to scrape it when I came out! Brrrr! Dropped off two bags in a charity bin near work.Yesterday was a day that I missed my husband very muchly. Miss him everyday but some days bite you on the bum and this was one of them. Everything I did seem to highlight he’s not here. Anyway I’d a lovely doggy walk. Then walked to pharmacy then to mums, did stuff there and then back round home. Hoovered. Read book. Watched a couple of programmes. Had the fire on as I was freezing!Dinner was a very RTC cottage pie from l!dl that was delicious! With parsnips, peas and sweet corn. Dinner for 3 for under a pound! Early to bed as a) it’s warm and b) alarm was going off at silly o’clock!11

For yesterday,
Snow showers on and off all day, nothing settled.
Bit of a frustrating morning, farrier was meant to be doing girlie’s feet and I had stressed it would need to be the morning as delivery coming, got to midday and no show plus no answer from phone. Pony back out and drove home, ggrr.
Chat with DB, we are off to local Arts theatre next Thursday for first time in ages, arrangements made.
Chores done in afternoon, as always pleasure is when done. The hot x bun with my afternoon cuppa helped.
Paneer cheese for tea with a lentil & chickpea dhal then Art club followed by Gogglebox.

sausage on sticks - we also had cheese and pineapple on sticks and silverskin onion and cheese on sticks, stuck into a large potato covered in silver foil - the height of 70s sophistication 😋 Blue nun anyone?
Mad March is over, April is a time to take work a bit more gently
1) another gentle start to the day. worked till 11:15 then took the boys for a lovely walk up Balgay - cold but sunny
2) then another 30 minutes of very efficient working and mum arrived so stopped for lunch
3) I need to do a revision of my fellowship application - we watched some podcasts they'd sent me to help refocus the application, making tons of notes
4) then we went to the botanics for a walk and then had coffee and fruit scones yum
5) phoenix friday followed by mennies - messaged Dr M I was on my way to mennies but NOT staying late. He caught the next bus down, met someone at our table he'd been to school with but just back after 30 years - love Dundee - I did stay late 🤣MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Morning afternoon all
Belated happy birthday Mhags.
Five recent pleasures:
1. A big fat blackbird is turning up in the garden on a very regular basis (it's a little back yard with a tiny patch of grass and walls covered in climbing plants) . I'm wondering if it's searching for a possible nesting site. There's no sign of twig collecting yet but fingers crossed.
2. The snow a few days back.
3. The woodstove in the evenings, especially since I've not been feeling very well (not Covid though, afaik).
4. Another really great day of free online talks about more creative stuff. I had it on in the background while I malingered but tried to get on with things. Quite a bit of the material under discussion overlapped in unexpected ways with my MA dissertation and was giving me lots of food for thought about next steps.
5. Sorted out another bunch of books to sell.
Have a good rest of Saturday.

Typical. I forts DD would mention Blue Nun!
Cottage cheese gone wrong?
Cottage Pie!
Jam Sandwich. Tasty Food!40!
Cannot believe it is now forty years and sill ...
Had the finger kebabs last evening, sounds betta than the 70's snorkers on a stick!
Inn the corner, there is a lesser spotted Admiral's Purse!
We has the finger kebabs with pored wobbleade, cheeses and a film! Charlie & Boots. Recommended for all!
Had the usual snorkers and best back for brakefest this day, with mushrooms and poached egg on buttered crumpet. Tee was also taken.
The Albatross was left at the Hare Dresser and will be sum time!
Cannot think it is now 40 years gone! Still the media then whipped up a frenzy of tripe, like they did in 1990? Like last year saying petrol is in short supply and continue to do so!
I ponder how many were rude to their other human beings this week because the media told them to ring the gas bored?
Oh, and on that, I note that the oil price has stabilised, though the German gas seems to be a problem. Again, there are still no fixes out there, so keep the DD!! as this does give a slightly lower rate. Consensus is that the economy itself will not sustain the current price and a correction should be afforded later this year. Forget the multimillionaire influencer and let the Admiral set the course!

I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
