Belated birthday greeting Mhags, sounds like you had a grand day.
For yesterday,
Did a bit of financial planning and opened a new savings account.
Had an appointment at the local hospital, one of those slightly unpleasant but necessary women’s health ones, pleasure is it was done v quickly and sorted now for three years.
Another chat with D Uncle, he’s recently been bereaved and needed a chat.
Capt S out for lunch at the Ivy in Uni city, being wined and dined by co solicitor, all right for some eh 😉 I had beans on toast!
Didnt feel 100% so gave myself the afternoon off, read my book and listened to the lovely Ella F.14 -
Happy birthday for yesterday MHags, was also my OH’s.
As it was his birthday he had the day off . As weather was drizzly we abandoned idea of going to the coast and set off to an old market town about an hour away.
An enjoyable lunch at a very nice Spoons ( he had his usual mixed grill and pint 🍺 of Doombar and I had 3 small plates, 2 of which were very nice and a glass of wine 🍷)
We then wandered around the town looking at the old buildings and castle ruins. Visited a few shops (only bought birthday cards) then round the market and bought fruit. Then headed for home.
Feet up, caught up on the remembrance service for Prince Phillip, no dinner needed just a cup of tea and a hot cross bun. Good day and an early night 💤
Have a good Wednesday 😊12 -
Primroses! Pansies gone wrong?
Bath day for Mhags!
Crumpets! Good Food!
Dump Run.
Snorkers, Spag Bol. Proper Food! Try spag bol with cherry toms!
Chinese meal to right the world!
Beans on Toast! Top Scran!Bring Good to Others!
Had buzzard poodle soup last nite with salad and chicken bits. Some strawbs as well!
Did the uni quiz, only one too go now! Then watched the Engerland match, wobbleade and cheese was taken as well! Very good, but the Ivory Coast played poor?
Had the poached egg and mushrooms for brakefest this day, with me mug of tee as well!
Swept the floors and mopped up. Kitty not happy as her bowls are on the side while it dries!
Now sit with me mug of tee waiting for floors to dry out and sore tin the Tour that is coming up very soon!
Jen does her best ever!
Keep Safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!13 -
so ended up with 11 meetings. m'eh. expect food-based pleasures again!
1) winter is back - lined my tum with porridge, berries and yoghurt, yum
2) hm curried parsnip soup followed by sardines on toast - I forget how yummy sardines on toast are
3) a very good PPR (periodic programme review, my first as Associate Dean of Quality and Academic Standards for the School)
4) was going to walk the boys up balgay but it started to sleet heavily so we only went to the top of the road. nice to be back in the warm (and yes the heating is back on!)
5) should have been spag bol for supper but the frozen object in the freezer i had identified as beef mince is actually sausage meat. so it's meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta. yum. Then i think I'll finish the Ipcress Files and have an early nightonly 7 meetings tomorrow but a couple of long ones...

I read that as "periodic table review", DD, which would have been complicated.
Quite ill today. I've had a little wheezy cough for a week or two so decided that was probably hay fever. Suddenly got lots of other symptoms - terrible sore throat overnight (gone as quickly as it appeared), headache, leg ache (!) So I didn't do half the things I intended today.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep, considering I couldn't swallow so convinced myself I had caught diphtheria.
2) Bigger son came home and is staying overnight. He has been spuddling in his shed all day.
3) Work has started on the new houses opposite. Not a pleasure as such, but it couldn't look any worse than it does at present (literally a building site!) and it might be interesting to see how the work progresses. They have cut the plans from when I moved here in 1999 from 21 houses, to 17, to 5 and now only 4. Its the drainage (no sewers) that has stopped them.
4) Managed to drive and get smaller son from college, despite weird zappy eyes. We stopped at Waitrose cafe, which was scheduled for Mother's Day but had to be cancelled due to a meltdown. Quite a lot of fretting and choosing of the correct table but he says he would go again.
5) Smaller son made the tea.
6) In bed and will listen to some podcasts.
7) Had to miss an online museum training 1.5 hour thing but they have emailed me the information.12 -

For yesterday,
I suddenly remembered the present that I tucked away last year for DSIL, it’s her birthday at the weekend and was contemplating what I could buy her.
Over to the yard as expecting a farrier visit but he messaged to say had been let down by apprentice so could we rearrange, had already got pony in but feeling a bit bleurgh myself so it was just a walk / graze in hand.
Tomato and red pepper soup for lunch.
Chat with other DSIL and arrangements made for a meet up.
Parcel in the post from WOB so a reassuringly high pile of books on bedside table.
Gammon with bean mash & greens for tea.11
