4. My little plants survived last nights frost.

Hello. Lovely sky as I type. Just been a nice walk with DD2 .
Up and at ‘em early this morning. The doggo has been waking at 5am which is about right on a work morning but really? Not on the non worky mornings! Anyway we went out a walk this morning about 6.15am, went through the field for the first time in months but it’s still a bit soggy so shall wait till it’s a bit drier.Started painting my fences at 6.45am! That’s dedication! Then another quick walk ( well it would have even quick if I’d went myself😆) to the post box. He just wants to sniff…I just wanted to return to sender to the Conservative party! With a and please take me off your mailing list scrawled across the envelope! Then round to mums ( via supermarket) to go into town for a dental appointment. Then home with her. Then supermarket for my stuff. Then home and lunch and read for a bit. Cleaned my bathroom. Hoovered downstairs. Painted a bit more. Read a bit more. Brought washing in and ironed it. Read a bit more!Phoned sister.Walk with DD2. Have popped heating on for half an hour. And that’s all we are getting!12 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Bigger son appeared after I wrote yesterday's pleasures so you can add him on! He has now gone to Weston with his girlfriend for a mini break.
2) We went out for breakfast. Smaller son goes to bed after midnight. Bigger son has always got up at the crack of dawn. I had forgotten what a tiring combination that is! I think we were in town by 8.30...
3) Waved bigger son off (we went in 2 cars) then went to get my eyebrows threaded. The sheer length of them these days is ridiculous. Why would they all individually need to be 3cm long?
4) Had a cup of tea in M and S cafe.
5) Went round a few charity shops but didn't buy anything.
6) Went geocaching with my brother after lunch all around the clock tower, and we found 8. We walked for over an hour. My brother was talking about what an excellent colleague my sister would make (punctual, organised, hard working etc) which was an interesting conversation.
7) I'm clearing out the freezer so we are using up strange combinations of food. My brother occasionally butchers things so there are plastic bags with weird instructions on, from him. Tonight we had a shoulder (!) with mystery bags of veg that turned out to be parsnip and turnip. There are also different sized freezer bags of chicken so I thawed out a small bag and we had that later in the evening made into chicken tikka in pitta breads (also from the freezer!) I am now thawing muntjac cubes, roast butternut squash and a bag of stewed fruit that could be apple or plum.
8) Watched Hospital.12 -

Do not cancel your utility DD if you are on a fixed tariff!
1) hopefully the last tough day of work for a very tough March - at lunch time (as in just time to warm up a bowl of beef curry to eat at my desk) I messaged Dr M re going to the pub tonight - he sent a thumbs up very quickly 😎
2) last meeting of the day, drinks with the boss and 2 other colleagues (online), as was already late (due to above) was hurrying with my drink and couldn't find the frozen lemons so added frozen berries to my tonic water instead - very nice
3) then prawn curry (I like curry, can you tell?)
4) walked down to mennies, Dr M late (as usual), Principal and deputy principal enjoying a pint, invited me to join them, seemed rude not to. Principal asked if Dr M and I were a couple, I said no but I'd like to be, oh lore and not a drop had passed my lips
5) Dr M arrived (he'd sent me a message which i totally missed!), joined us, chatted away to the Principal and I to the deputy. then they left and we stayed for another pint. a very nice evening - surreal but nice.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning
Crikey DDoll. You'll be putting an advert in the local paper soon! Stop telling everyone about Dr M! You'll scare him off! ( and now I feel like Marge Proops!)
This weather 😍 Totally fabulous.
More garden tidying. Our new mimosa is in flower. Apparently they say in France that when the mimosa flowers it's the start of spring. Let's hope so.
DD came for tea. Has been a rare treat lately so very enjoyable.
Trying to fill the oven up when it's on so made cookies whilst doing oven veg and chicken. Cookies took nearly twice as long as usual. Think they were steamed by the veg! Tasted fine tho eventually.
And the best pleasure. Changed DH wound dressing and it's fine. Clean and dry. Phew! 5 weeks to the day since the surgery but we got there!I
Happy 🌞day everyone12 -

2. Worked at other site - didn't have to see a manager always good. Though emails were being ignored.
3. A lovely patient and her mother who said she appreciated my experience as most others that she has seen are newly qualified. It was good to feel appreciated.
4. Had a chat with my neighbours Mum. She is visiting so haven't seen her for a while.
5. Messaged a couple of friends.12 -

Hope you have a restful weekend planned DD
Your lucky dip freezer made me smile Frith
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a small shop and met a friend for coffee.
Made a loaf and lots of cups of tea as decorator drinks quite a few!
Fresh chives in our lunchtime salad, love it when the herbs come back to life.
Out for evening walk with small dog and Capt S turned into the lane, his meeting hadn’t gone on for as long as thought it would, opened the car door to say hello and small dog jumped in so she got a lift for the last hundred yards.
We had eaten main meal at lunchtime so just bread & cheese for tea but glass of wine with.

Hello. Bedtime as alarm is set for absolutely ridiculous o’clock! It’s been another beautiful day that has been filled with so much to do!Dog slept till six this morning! A lie in for us both but then I’ll confuse him by being up and at ‘em at a silly time.
out painting fences at 7.45am. Back fence done. About 2/3 of side fence ( that’s visible from garden) done. Need to do all the raised beds that go round the back and down the side!Lovely doggy walk. Then walked to mums , did stuff there, nice chat with her neighbour on the way out, nice walk back home.Sat in the garden and finished the book I started yesterday. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a reading mood so I’m just making the most of it! Was lovely sitting in the garden. Listening to birds. Bees and butterflies. Then I’d the side path to pressure hose. Then I painted the top of my garden table. Gave it two coats and will do a final coat tomorrow then furniture can get shifted around into position. Hopefully get grass cut and pots moved to where they’ve to be ( all moved out the way to pressure hose)
Picked up a too good to go bag which are like blooming hens teeth to actually nab, the last two have been canceled as there’s not been enough food waste. Obviously they didn’t know I’d given up bread products for lent 😃 but there’s bread and croissants in the freezer as well as 2 packs of sliced sausage. A bag of spuds I’ll probably use for seed potatoes as they’re actually a bit sprouty. A chicken burger and scotch eggs that maybe the beau will eat? Dunno!Home. Hello dog. It was 15 minutes! Not long! A beautiful sky this evening. Watched 2 bats a flying above the trees, silhouetted in the sunset.12 -
Evening all
Five recent pleasures:
1. Gas boiler is now fixed. (Thanks for the warning Admiral but I rent this place so the landlord, not me, picked up the bill - another pleasure I suppose!)
2. Found a video of a lovely long riverside walk I want to do when I've built up my walking stamina again - incentive to keep walking.
3. Lovely two hour online event this morning about women's creativity.
4. Unexpected cheque for secondary uses of some of my past published work - not massive, but just into three figures and very welcome right now. [For anyone who has been published: books and/or magazines/journals and/or scripts - make sure you register with ALCS, the Authors Licensing and Collecting Society.]
5. And a very funny phone call with my best friend this afternoon. We make each other laugh so much.
Sweet dreams
