Good morning. Whisper it not too loud, but currently calm and still here.
Montserrat - I must try to follow your lead with the fasting. I managed to put on not a single ounce over Christmas, but a month of comfort eating is now showing on the scales. Think 1st March might be a good day to start.
Washed the bedding yesterday and pegged it out. Was so windy I used nearly every peg in the bag but it got dry. I'm now trying to think of a way to connect the whirligig to a generator! It's a wonder it didn't take off!
Cornish pasties yesterday, but called meat pasties as they were made in Yorkshire! Just as nice though.
Still enjoying wordle, challenging DD and ND neighbour.
Saw a programme on BBC 4 about a meeting between Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama. They never stop giggling. It's a delight.
Happy Thursday everyone ( despite the dreadful news today)

Yes, saw that the other day Ampersand, the storm made a good job of it!
For yesterday,
Off to the yard to make the most of the forecasted decent weather, pony was asleep in the sunshine when I got there.
She worked well in the school, then we had a little play weaving in & out of poles like a aged pony clubber 🤣 she loved it and even let out a little squeal of excitement at one point.
Rtc sliced beef in panini for lunch.
The weather came over in afternoon so pottered around the house and completed a few surveys.
Tea was chicken fajitas with HM guacamole, yum. Caught up on quizzes, Mastermind & Uni Challenge then read for the rest of the evening.

Yes, homemaid sponges should bee steamed!
Cut the sugar and stop the fantasy fads and diets! Eat food, not products!
Type 2 Diabetes is controlled through diet not sugar rushes. Cut the orange juice and fruit drinks to none, no sugar in tee etc. Look at the back of the can of has beens and putt back on the shelf!

I putts up yesterday that Jen wasJen has her Heartversary of ten years! And she still clicks on and on! That is what eating food not products does! Especially steamed homemaid sponge! She is due a cheque shortly!
So we celebrated her birthday with a catchup of the uni quiz and some wobbleades! Cheese, a proper food, were taken as well!
Radio silence started as it was on Monday 3rd May 1982! Usual carp from the media. Remember it was only last September, they fooled you inn too filling the car up!
Had too tuck the Albatross to her work this morning via the low road as the top one was being dug up! In fact our town has the UK Roadworks championships at the moment!

Admiral, Happy Heartiversary.
1 First coat of paint is on top of the stair primer now, second tomorrow then I am calling it done.
2 Snow showers were very pretty.
3 Bangers and mash for dinner.
4 Just back from the discount store and re stocked again, picked up some daffs always in memory of mum.
5 Feeling smug ish, I haggled with our broadband provider I am happy with but couldn’t afford to be out of contract, said about leaving to Vodaphone as I get a better deal as a new person, they were able to match their deal barring the cashback, all accepting it will go up in April, but it will go up from a much lower point than if I hadn’t phoned so I still save and get a new router, I’m happy with it.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Booked the hotel and football tickets for when our team plays in Gateshead next weekend. The train tickets will cost more than everything else combined, even with a disabled person railcard. Shocking. Saved £140 just by doing trainsplit.
3) Hens OK.
4) Popped out for a cup of tea and a few bits.
5) Spent the afternoon doing the garden - pruning, weeding, sweeping up. The pruning was too thorough and I accidentally pruned through the cable of the solar powered lights, which was annoying.
6) Did the online pub quiz.
7) In bed with 1hwb.10 -
Frith, lovely to read the little lad ferret is settling in. Some can be loners but it's quite rare. I've found it tends to be when they have more on their mind, sometimes they get all grumpy if they aren't neutered.9

Phew what a week, just caught up on all your posts since my last visit 22nd. Terrible news about Ukraine, DD1's company has remote workers there, the boss' son worked there quite recently, so sad national battles can't remain on the sports fields. What a waste of lives, of hopes, of resources - I don't see a short ending to the madness. It puts my work fires into perspective, yet we need to carry on, so forgive me for 7 since 22nd
1) many things at work have resolved and i have put wheels in motion for others - compassion and communication have been key - have also done some good work on streamlining processes and we had an excellent external board
2) and i have also taken compassion on myself - i cannot fix all the problems however much i want to, and i need to restore my work balance, so no more late nights, said no to a meeting on Friday (it's supposed to be meeting-free Friday to catch up on work) and no more working at weekend
3) very good meeting with my VP education - he invited me to join his SLWG on Scholarship, a topic close to my heart, said there would be an institutional call coming out later that day (turns out i needed to write 200 words on why i wanted to join and what i would bring - decided not to write 'cos you bloomin' asked me!' - closing date 7th March
4) didn't cancel my writing retreat (online) yesterday morning (9:30 - 1) despite finding myself triple-booked, rather, explained unfortunately i could only stay for the first 30 mins but would be back for the last hour, turned down the 10 - 11, explained to my 11 - 12, attended the 10 - 12 (a QAA training, very good) and did indeed make it back for the last hour - everyone was very nice and understanding, and I not only got my 200 words drafted, edited, shortened to 200 words (was actually good to get my own thoughts in order) but submitted it just before we came back for our progress update at 12:45 - submitting before deadlines is unheard of for me so very pleased with myself
5) didn't get my PFHEA (pooey) but invited to resubmit so applied the advice i give students, allowed myself a quick cry, put the feedback to one side, sent to my colleague, the only one in our institution with PFHEA, she sent a lovely email back saying she was surprised but felt the feedback was very clear and is looking for time in my calendar when we can meet. Deadline is 24th March, and will also contact, as invited to, the prof working with A-HE on the principal fellow. another colleague from another institution had a year to resubmit his so perhaps I should look on this as minor rather than major corrections vjsmum. unfortunately if i don't get it that's £550 of my money !!!!!! and i will have to start all again with senior fellow (next level down) though the uni will i believe fund that. trying not to think 'should have gone for SFHEA in the first place' (went to a SFHEA workshop 6 years ago consultant running it said i was almost at PFHEA stage so never did go for SFHEA
6) watched football with Dr M and Mr G Tuesday and Wednesday - Mr G has booked us in for Sunday's EFL final, Tues and of course Wed's Luton Chelsea 5th round - Mr G'll be late for that (Dundee Utd is playing) but Dr M said he'll be there 😍 I've bought him a Luton scarf 😎
7) PhD student currently sleeping on a friend's floor (on a mattress but even so...) so have offered him a room - he is lovely, it's only for a month - he asked me for rules of the house 🤣i thought then said 'no commenting on how late I get back from the football, no commenting on how many times i go to the football, no feeding the dogs cos they lie and will happily scoff 2 or 3 breakfasts, no drinking the last of the milk'. he's coming this afternoon - will just be for a month although i'd be happy for him to stay till June when he submitsMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Busy morning, made a loaf and did some chores around the house.
Met up with brother for lunch at the farm shop, good food, smashing company and I had a 20% off voucher.
A few flurries of snow while we were in the cafe.
Over to see pony, she was cold as had been left in her stable in just a light turnout so took that off, gave her a good groom and replaced with fleece. I shared the carrots between her and her neighbours.
Watched an interesting programme about the winter of 63, made us feel cold though!
