Watched the gooooners last nite of the stream box. Had to wait to the end though, as for Wolves. Still cheating after 43 years! Geoff did bury that ball at Molineux in December 79 and the ref missed it! Cheats!

Evenng all - i really must get back into the habit of daily postings.
Pleasures recently (apologies for any repeats)
1. walked the thames path from the barrier to tower bridge - 10.5 miles although about 15 miles walked in all by the time we'd gone to, from and between stations. Overall i've walked about 70 miles of the 180 mile long thames path, OH has walked a bit more.
2. nice walk with friends and their doggy and we didn't get 'that' wet. Good lunch out too
3. Nearly through the batch of marking - 3 more and then none until the end of April
4. watched 'inventing Anna' - was very enjoyable
5. teaching was teached - attendance is getting worse. Although apparently this is also the case on campus so i've stopped being so paranoid about it.
Will be back later / tomorrow with today's....I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Hello. Posting before I run out of battery!Yesterday was fairly quiet. Woke up to lots of snow but all gone by end of day. Had a lovely chat to DD1.Spent the returned deposit on de-hairifying eyebrows! With a spare pound to start up the jam jar again.Early to bed.TodayAlarm went off early but I was already awake. Quick doggy walk was very slippy on pavement. Lovely moon. Just over an hour at work and home for 7am. Made porridge for DD2 breakfast. Then she called could I drop something off for her…grrrr! Roadworks and rush hour traffic! Went a-shopping afterwords. Popped in to a charity shop down other end of town. Got a nice lantern ( including candle) and a nice BNWT Fat face jumper in a gorgeous shade of green, certainly more than I would normally pay for a second hand jumper but happy to pay for a new one. But seriously who spends over £50 for a jumper then doesn’t wear it? ( or possibly an unwanted gift)
Popped into mums on way home with flowers ( I’m not always horrid)
Then home! Aaaah! Just where I really want to be just now. Hung a washing out. Hoovered. Put fire on. Had a lovely doggy walk. Watched some catch up on iPad ( hence low battery) cuddled my doggy.Chao came to remedially fix fence. Will do for now.Having chicken for dinner with veg and rice.Have made another parsnip mountain. Not a bargainous one but still reasonless priced. All chopped up and in the freezer. Love parsnips 🥰10 -
Recent pleasures:
Lunch out with friend, postponed from last week due to the storms.
Nice, if overpriced fish dish and Sauvignon Blanc.
Out today to a beautiful garden with lots of snowdrops, hellebores and tiny cyclamens, very pretty. Then on to a lovely pub for lunch for a very tasty half rack of ribs.
Nice little group, friends of friend, I used somebody’s ticket who couldn’t go.
i got on really well with one lady and it turned out she is a very good friend of my ex’s aunt, small world 😊
Night all 💤

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and I finally remembered to order some new bedding (they've been on shredded paper for a while).
3) Popped to Sainsburys for a cup of tea and shopping.
4) Went to B and Q for a new set of solar lights after I snipped through the cable of the old set whilst pruning, like a wally. I think I prefer the new set.
5) Added another night's stay on to our one night stay in Gateshead next week. With 12 hours of travelling plus 3 hours of football, an overnight stay wouldn't have given us chance to look at anything else. I've pencilled in the Baltic art gallery, Sandhaven beach, geocaching and possibly Wallsend with the ferry across. I asked about 20 times for it to be a twin room on the phone, explaining that the other person with a different surname is my son, hence the 27 year age difference. Of course, the email shows a room with a double bed and they have ignored my immediate email back so I shall have to sort that out tomorrow.
6) Fish and chips for tea.
7) I went to the Wildlife Club in the village hall and the talk was interesting. Also spoke to the couple that bigger son worked for whilst at college (super posh racing car garage). They've said to send him down for a cup of tea when he comes home next.
8) In bed with 2 hwb and will watch the Last Leg just now.
Replacement lights on bigger son’s shed.

Frith, Lovely lights.
DD Nice to have some company for a short while.
1 The second coat of paint is on; but it will need a third we will see as I will need more paint. Thou I have to say now I’ve discovered farrow and ball floor paint there’s no going back to anything else.
2 Dinner changed to build your own chicken wrap’s I picked up some precooked rtc chicken last night.
3 I am / was reading a horror book that’s not good; I am going to give it one more chapter than I may have to admit defeat.
4 I did a very basic bit of cleaning and tidying as the place was screaming out for it, the animals are massively moulting now for their sleek summer coats.
5 Walked a card and a ferret up to a main post box to make sure the in laws get an anniv, card tomorrow, they are of the era they hold a lot to receiving a card.

I once got a lovely fatface jumper from a CS mhags so guess i'm not someone to pay £50 for a jumper either
gorgeous piccies paulie
ah attendance vjsmum one of my colleagues was talking about the very same today
1) a lovely sunny day - put an email out re. phoenix tonight and went to botanics for lunch meeting with phd student and other supervisor - called in on Dr M first as he was on duty - we had a good chat
2) and then i had a lovely lunch - jacket potato with tuna which coincidentally enough was what the other supervisor also wanted - i gave her permission to have the same as me 😄
3) then met up with 2 other colleagues - one gave me a lift home (the one with the attendance problems) - we had a good catch-up
4) phd student came, then gave me a lift to the tower where i caught up with other colleagues i haven't seen for too long - i had 3 bits of gossip for them, they had nothing in return, told them i was very disappointed
5) then the phoenix - 4 of us tonight, very nice chat, then two of us got kebabs and we sat on the wall and ate them - very yummy - i am mentoring him through to the next stage in his career
now in bed listening to the news quiz.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning. And a lovely bright morning it is too
Lainey - found an Elly Griffiths book in The Works. New to me, but I remembered you mentioned her. Good to try a new author.
Paulie - thank you for the beautiful pix
D Doll - pleased to see you're learning to say 'No' to too much work.
Yesterday was a glorious day so we went out for a wander and a coffee. Did us both good to be out and about. Bumped into a couple of friends we haven't seen since pre lock down one so had a good natter.
Watered some of the outside pots. The ones in the 'shadow' of the house were dry despite all the rain recently.
Moved some pots with fritillaries and irises ( both favourites of mine ) to in front of the window so that I can see them from inside. We went to Kew many years ago and they had a huge patch of fritillaries in a woodland area. I fell in love!
Watched The Courier. A good film and seemed especially relevant at the moment.
Delighted to read that many mobile phone networks are allowing free calls to the Ukraine. A patch of brightness, much needed
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Lovely pics as always Paulie.
Hope you enjoy the book HappyCas, I have just started the 14th in the Galloway series, am bit of a fan ☺️For yesterday,
Paid bills and moved some money into savings which is always a pleasure.
Packed bags, food and headed off to Norfolk for a week away.
Lovely cottage but cleaner had forgotten to turn up the heat and no kindling / wood left for the burner so warm jumpers on!
We walked down to the village pub, dog friendly and very quaint.
Home, cottage gradually heating up, cheese and wine.10
