Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tasty bit of lunch.
3) Hens OK and I spoke to the allotment owner for so long I was nearly late for 4)
4) Met my sister at 2 in canal town (purely as it is less flooded than everywhere else). Had a cup of tea there with my niece also.
5) Had a roast for tea that I made yesterday (apart from the stuffing and gravy)
6) A very exciting evening at the football, beating Boston 3-1. It was strange sitting in pretty much our normal seats then thinking what happened last Saturday. We noticed that pretty much everyone sat down, looked at that patch of grass and shuddered. During the warm up, all our players were wearing number 28 shirts. They took them off and handed them to children in the crowd and I noticed that possibly smaller son had something in his eye... We also had a minute long round of applause at 28 minutes in and we realised that the injured player (still in hospital and having operation 2 on Friday) was following the match and tweeting along!! Smaller son has lost his voice a bit from shouting. Every time a player was fouled we were on tenterhooks half expecting them to have a broken leg. It was quite tense.
7) In bed with 2 hwb and will watch Holby just now.11 -
For yesterday,
Pottered around the house, cleaning and tidying, nice when it’s done.
We ate main meal at lunchtime as going out, feta & spinach pie with different salads, nice.
Visit with elderly friend, lots of laughter and chats, plus tea of course.
Out to cathedral city for a book signing event with one of our favourite authors, Elly Griffiths. Held in the cathedral the ancient building was a stunning backdrop to a most interesting evening, when we came out and looked back at the huge tower against a starry sky it took my breath away.
Home, PJs on, wine in hand and listened to 2nd half of United match, we won 2-0. Smashing to hear about your players tribute Frith I see that West Ham also tweeted their best wishes as think the player concerned was MOTM in your game with them.11 -

Stake and snorker pie?
Roast not roast without stuffing!
Ship on the Fen!And we are soon to ...
Hopefully we get the news this day about the hutch sale. We has six booked to view, so will be on tour shortly! Fingers are crossed!
Was out at the wobbleade circus last evening and had a jar, with sum fish and chips. Fish was ok, but why say triple cooked? And pore a pound of salt on the chips. I can use a salt sella me self! Butt minted peas in an egg cup thing. Looks good for Jimmy the Cooke, but not good! Peas are a non food!
Has three sheets to the wind today, as tour on SunDae, washed already as I is up with the sparrows! Manged to catch Kitty on the landing this day. Well it woke her up is all I can say! The Albatross is recovering well!
Had me golden flakes of corn inn iced milk this morning! Tee was drinked and Kitty fed. She's is out the front now relaxing on her patio!
Now sat with my mug of tea and orange flavoured biscuit!
Oh Jen is ...!!!
That is all from the decks!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!9 -
happycas hurrah for the at home healing! With shepherds pie to promote recovery. DS sharing birthday cake, awwAdmiral you steam a sponge? Intrigued... Neighbour tried block & was unimpressed, hoping your folks are much more useful.VJsmum - the young trying wings, yikes but clean sheets & roasties.Frith - it's never good being in earshot of bones going, but at least the scalpel squad are powering on. Not easy being a fan!Purple kitten - a good fakeaway is a joy! Intrigued at garage doing 2goodtogo.LaineyT - home made spelt & pumpkin seed bread - yum! Wow, tower against stars.mhagster - eep when battery on the edge. Your fence sounds like it still has a few more storms in it yet... parsnips all gone? Boo, but what a run! Hurrah Tuesday tea & making a nickel do a dime's work.DundeeDoll - a lot of fires to put out - these never come singly, but hurrah DD2's advice.SuffolkSue - count me amongst the awed at what Ecclesiastical Needlework can encompass. A beautiful wedding dress is nice but the ecclesiastical work lasts longer & is seen by even more.OS pleasures recentlyHimself sorting pouches & I asked what was the long one for “bacon!” - well, who doesn’t carry a bacon pouch? The first aid kit alongside it was not the clue I hoped.Snow! Lots, & settled, & the delight of ‘no one can expect me to go out’…[All washed away with rain now.]Started Himself’s hat. Had forgotten to use a nostepinne to convert a skein into a ball so some cats cradle & assorted language but slippers repurposed - one holds ball, the other needles & WIP when I want a break!Father Brown on iplayer, the simple pleasures! (Happily gawking at teapots, too, ahem.) These innocent pleasures, even if it seems bodies are de rigeur.I thought I’d escaped the storms with nothing more than weather. Til Youngest said there was a fence on my car. (Ours, not that serious for the car but having private space visible feels oddly naked!)Trainees bright & curious & we managed to get most of the morning done without the missing third trainer being obvious! Our first unable-to-attend-as-covid trainee - given her current role & skills she could miss the first Week with relative impunity but there’s always some little thing that might come in handy.Chuckling at the very gentle melodious tinkle that Youngest has set as an alarm. On one side this brief reminder of the hour, on the other the steady patter of rain..Ancestry is making me chuckle - I’m putting together a welcome to the family tree for two new little cousins (despite having to scour Facebook for their mothers’ maiden names, argh) & I have two ‘well done’ emails from ancestry, one for 100 people & a later one for 50….I bought 4 bricks of coir off eBay to grow things in & realised no advice as to how much water per brick. This morning came a message to start with 3 litres & see how I go, depending on a wet or dry mix. Given I was looking at a baking site minutes before, I now have slight mental whiplash…Himself wanted a one egg frying pan & I ordered it. He’s so pleased to have exactly what he wanted without having to send a weblink & I chuckle that it is Tiny, but he’s so pleased.Health strength love & courage to all as have need, robust weatherproofing & may your digital devices cooperate (we've a gremlin touring the online class)!11

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did a museum training course (Zoom) in the morning, about caring for collections but being "green" at the same time.
3) Did bits of cooking during the afternoon to use stuff up. Made jam tarts and mince pies plus a rather nice quiche of mainly cavalo nero and feta.
4) I watched a video of the football match we went to last night and 2 of the team (minor injuries, so not playing) were in the home crowd with the fans! They asked one of them to lead the singing and he did, with a surprisingly decent voice!
5) In bed (hwb have gone cold now) watching television.
6) Smaller son and I might go to the game at Gateshead the weekend after this so I've been looking for places to explore. Haven't been to the North East in years now I no longer have any relations living there. Does anyone have any recommendations? All is know is the Baltic Art Gallery and the Angel of the North.9 -
1 I painted the primer coat on part of the landing and the stairs, paint will be tomorrow hoping to finish it and then the treads can go on and our poorly ferret can get some independence. Cleaning up after primer and paint however is the devils own work, and the animals are complaining loudly that they aren’t allowed where they are always allowed while it dries, thou I maintain their pawprints will improve it.
2 Popped out locally to pick up our meds and to sort out a repeat prescription exemption for DH, then not so locally to pick up animal meds, discovered a town that will be explored more in the warmer months.
3 I did meal plan for tonight, but I moved it a day and ordered in on a voucher.
4 Bird feeders all re stocked they are getting thou the grub at the moment, but they are a definite pleasure.

PK - I've been meaning to tell you about the progress of the ferret my sister found in her garden! Despite being old with no teeth, he has settled in well at my brother's and has put on plenty of weight. He won't make friends with the existing ferret but they are in pens facing each other.11

Admiral - as you have long known (but enjoy pretending otherwise - 😄) it isn't &'s phone, it's where & is that is the problem. Fenny Connectivity Blackspot, known for it.
1. Masses of fine emporium bakery rtcs ce soir, all 80-90% off. Taken and shared>3 addies en route back.
2. Called S, a dear dot known via CS volunteering for over 20 years. She phoned when & was driving yesterday. Husband, former career RAF pilot officer, is in Addenbrookes - septicaemia and confusion for starters. They are the dearest peeps and deserve better than life has thrown at them. How can they now be 84 and 88?
3. Simple supper, much salad with a large 29p wedge of emporium quiche.
4. Weekly preview under & sub- and sort and rewrite attack again, 🦚🏉😁. Last night's rearranged Women’s Nomads' match was a good'un v Cambridge University. Us 32, 7 them. Decent midweek turnout and much excellent singing.
5. Small, very pleasing P.O. txn. Having read Martin's warning about using up 1st and 2nd class books of stamps, & was pleased that today's posted things each used 3x1st class+1x2nd class stamp. Felt disproportionate pleasure re: this.

Big day ahead again. Lights off, &.
All care, safety and sweet dreams all round.

Lainey, have you seen a complete corner of fencing blown down at Town of Horse emporium?
