Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Smaller son's geocaching travel bug has been moved across Denmark. Often they got lost after a year or two so we were pleased this one is still being collected.
4) Cooked beetroot for lunch today and tomorrow.
5) Popped to the local little charity shop and found the CD smaller son was looking for, an oil painting of the Malvern Hills (£2!) and a Dualit toaster! So not a bad haul there.
6) Smaller son and I went for our annual Valentines tea at Ikea. Meatballs for him, lamb shank for me. We didn't buy anything apart from mini daim bars.
7) Have spent the evening watching Celebrity Hunted.12 -
1. Messaging a friend - she is in a difficult situation and I have support even if unsure of what advice to give.
2. Two nice colleagues in at work. It was needed with the line manager criticising all day. Not only me but everyone else too.
3. Had an interesting zoom meeting at lunch time. About a course which not sure that I want to do but will if I have study time from work but that is very unlikely though others still have it for modules they have completed.
4. The last hour at work when line manager has gine.
5. Quiet evening at home.
6. Eventually found card reader so I could transfer my sister some money. It took a while to find as DH had our it in a sensible place but couldn't remember where!11 -

Good morning. I should be filling my car with stuff for the recycling centre but I’m still in bed! Need to get up very shortly! Booked an early appointment.Work was worked. Busy, excellent tips…however neutralised by being the exact same amount the window cleaner got when I nipped home mid morning to walk dog and found the window cleaners in the back garden! Plan is to bank the jam jar this morning l
was a lovely late afternoon when we came out of work. Wished I had my sunglasses in the car! And a lovely sunset.Had another baked potato for tea ( tea for one last night) with some tuna and a little bit of cheese I brought home from the holiday cottage. So that’s all the cheese used up! I don’t eat much cheese and DD2 doesn’t so tend not to buy it unless I was going to cooking for others but I’d had two cheese rounds in hampers which were nice strong cheddars.Anyway I’d better get going, I’m always relieved when the working days are over! It’s a choice to just work two days and live simply. And I’m lucky I can do it but oooft they come round quickly!Right in to the garage I go and hope I can squeeze it all in my much smaller car!12 -
For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town and smiled at the number of men walking around the emporium, self consciously clutching flower bouquets.
Capt S got a quick appointment at docs and picked up antibiotics for nasty infection, must switch surgeries as his seems far more efficient than mine!
Over to see pony, foul weather so we kept our tack dry by not working and she just had a nice long groom, at least it kept me warm.
A well paid survey has bumped up this month’s earnings.
We shared some posh chocs and watched Uni Challenge.

Posh Chocs?
Dump Run!
Roses!
Yellow Blanket.
Cleaning and ovens.
Beetroot! Not Proper Food!
Let it brew on the stove for later, see below! Refrigerator is for chilling the wobbleade!DundeeDoll said:2) made far too much lunch (rest of the veggie chilli, ssshhh not a word to the admiral, and pasta) so had half and other half in the fridge for tomorrowLet's Sea It!
Has the rest of the chicken and mushroom pie last nite for dinner, with pan gravy. Wes out off the carrots, so mixed veg bits as well! Then sum mint choc ice cream!
Tuck the Albatross to her work this day and set another Land Seed Record doing so! The Albatross murmured that a van slightly ahead was going two her place, and with exemplary timing, I shot through the gate that was opened for them! My thirst run of the year, showed her how it is done!
Then offs to the discount surplus stores for supplies. Got a bag of wonky carrots, now trimmed for the freezer, with peas and sweet corns wes out of! As we is on ship, got some Popeye foods as well! As wes get married at the end of February, the roses were cheap this morning after the sheople punters has cleared them out!
On making of dishes, DD, I gets the chicken inn four the curry this nite, with mushrooms, and peppers. As I gets the Popeye food in, a dash of pure spinach as well! Served with long grain rice, remember that bashcarpi is long grain over priced. It shalls bee very tasty and will sit on the stove brewing for its next meal! Never can do to much!
Had the EPC guy round to do the tax bit! Bit like our council that waste money! They got a community charging hub in the outback town, but did not understand the supply. So it is a slow charger done cheap. If they new watt they were doing, they would get a 3 phase supply and make it a 21kW fast charger! Just lick educationalists, Human remains and social workers, superfluous to the needs of others! Look carp though!
Rite Kitty needs her nibbles and things so I is offs!

I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
1. Listening to Ngaio Marsh's 'Surfeit of Lampreys' as we speak, & thinks back to her own Ngaio childhood. Parents built their 2nd house here (1st was in Heretaunga) while working full-time, felling and clearing their bushblock for the section. & loved being in the bush to play, thought rata vines were what gave us our occasional electricity.
2. Finished another non-academic read, Ann Cleeves' 'The Sleeping and the Dead'. Not proof-read - over half a dozen misprints and omitted words.
3. Lush simple supper and 2 fresh peaches.
4. The amazing CS bag is all sheepy skin, silky wool and leather, silk brocade-lined with an extraordinary thick plaited shoulder cord. All in Peacock colours, will be &tised by Raffle Harridan+Zettle mugging come Saturday.😁 Pics barely hint at its glory - will try and insert 2 after.
5. Town of Horse nice man understood voiceless &, crossed from Autozone to replace new wiper blade - pigs of things to click on. Little h-m marmalade will find its way to him demain.

Hello. Bedtime. Late by my recent standards.Took stuff to tip. Such a good system ( shame about the potholes!grrr) . Stopped at supermarket on way home l got something for mum and spent 50p on 2 RTC bunches of daffodils.Big doggy walk. Thankfully dry at that point. Then walked round to mums but she’d left key in the inside of door so I couldn’t get in ( she was having an afternoon snooze) so dropped stuff off at back door and promptly walked back home again!Friends were coming over for Tuesday Tea. Which was so cheap and cheerful but very yummy. All from freezer.RTC chicken pie, leftover from work baked potatoes, parsnips from the seemingly never ending mountain, sprouts, corn on cob ( halves, halved so we all got a wee bit) peas and cauliflower ( which was from the fridge) . Then I made a very tasty peach crumble with the last wee bit of ice cream.A plate leftover for DD2 beau who was coming up after his work.So much chatter and so much laughter. Was good to have a proper belly laugh. Friend and I lurch from topic to topic to oh I’ll tell you this in a minute. They brought more daffodils!
Quick doggy walk. Dry ( though ground is sodden) the calm before tomorrow’s storm.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to college. Hoorah!
3) Stopped at Waitrose on the way to pick him up (through appalling weather) and had a pot of tea and read their magazine.
4) Mum and dad said they were coming over (which happens about once a year) so I had a tidy up and steamed the floors. I presumed something awful had happened but dad wanted to tell me that he is primed and ready to go to Hereford tomorrow to listen to a talk about the stoves in the cathedral. He was interviewed about his part (converting them to gas) and if the archivist didn't know the minutiae of gas and its many components before, she does now... They've got free tickets.
5) Nice tea of pitta breads and pork cubes, salad etc.
6) Smaller son's friend had my ticket for the football so I wandered around Sainsburys for an hour then sat in the car outside, with stereophonic cheering coming through the window and also on local radio in the car. Won 3-0 today. A possibility of moving up a league and 4,500 in the crowd tonight, which is ridiculous for a team in this league.
7) In bed with 2 hwb and might watch Holby City now.11
