1) quiet new year - dd2 and I watched the last leg (which she introduced me to during the para-olympics then had a fire in the garden. We toasted the new year in with mugs of tea and sparklers - it was nice
2) I stayed out a lot longer - there isn’t something very lovely watching flames - reminds me of the Robert Louis Stevenson poem
3) and a lazy 1st - took the dogs for a long walk to blow away the cobwebs
4) and today went for a dook at sunrise (first time ever and probably last lol)
5) another’s long walk with the boys, and this time also with gbf

1. Pic of nibbled hellebore just disappeared, taken as & gathered in last of reboiled linens. Blowing now, as I write, but at least there's nothing left on line to be drenched in more of yesterday's sudden dark downpours. Et oui, yet another 'File failed to upload' msg appears....😖
2. 2 sorts of church yesterday and went to both. Felt right to bring names and various situ's into first proper New Year reflection and thought.
3. Bank card bizarrely lost in Town of Horse, but notified within 2-3 minutes. Replacement shouldn't be long in coming.🤞
4. Definitely seeing daylight earlier, despite cack weather.
5. Having at last met own self-imposed Deluge conditions/discipline, will today open Christmas presents......finally.🙂

For yesterday,
Quiet day at home, up early as usual and lots of small dog cuddles.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Radio stayed on during various preps in kitchen, made rice pudding, use up veg soup and a Shepherds Pie with a topping of carrot & swede mash for lunch. Also listened to ISIHAC.
Afternoon walk, hunting for snowdrops after MD shared pics of his on IG, nothing found and the rain started on the way home but something v cosy about hearing it hit the hood of my waterproof.
Capt S took eldest DSS to airport for return to work, I read my book and listened to the storm howling around the cottage but he was soon home thank goodness, agree on dire tv offerings and we played cards all evening.11 -
1. Managed to tidy the kitchen. It looks so much better than It did.
2. DH went to visit his parents grave. I stayed home as my back would have objected to the drive.
3. Spoke with my parents. My Dad is in pain with a today or cuff problem and my Job as a bad cough but has tested negative. My Dad is p!eased he can watch tv but he is happy watching any sport.
4. Watching the rugby. Another win. Saw on Twitter that Gloucester had given a signed shirt and ball to one of our supporters. A bit with cerebral palsy who has such a positive outlook.
5. Finished my book..11 -

Watched the 007, No Time to Die on the box (Not Terrestrial TV!) as it was download and keep now cheaper than the rent version. Rule 17.25 of the Ship. Wait and the price will be right! Very Good, and fiery waters were sunk and cheeses taken!
Had a good day, and did the gammon roast, Very good from the discount surplus store! It did not fall apart unlike the one we used to get from w8r5! When the stopped the pre paper coupon for the rag, I stopped visiting! Served with homemade parsley sauce, mash tates and veg. Then anoth dish of the xmas pudding with custard!
Got up early and had the usual breakfast, best back, banger, mushrooms and poached egg! Tea was drunk. Tasty.
Attacked the tee and took decorations down. Ms. Kitty was a bit unhappy as her climbing podium was moved! The season over for another year!
Went to the discount surplus store to get provisions in, then home for some gammon nicely carved with salad, tom soup! I also gets some treats, Egg Custard Tarts! Very tasty, 21p a tart against 50p at the w8r5!
Save £720 on the utility bills when I switched in plan with my supplier back in late August, from my December 21 fix to December 22! It was £36 more expensive until the end of the year, but now! Apologies that I did not nip inn here back then as some things were kept low. I am still looking for you though! Remember Sergie only wanted you to have the hassle of switching!
Now feet are up DD! #UTM are the box!

Day 357 in isolation. ( actually day 13) Is it nearly Saturday yet? ( freedom day)
anyway, headache continues in the background, throat still croaky. But I’m thankful it’s no worse than it is and being inside is preferable to being very unwell.Nice chat with DD1. She had a good moan!Sorted out what was sons bedroom . Office come dumping ground. So it’s back to an office. Dumped stuff sorted. Very small ironing pile ( I used to always iron now I’m very selective!) ironed. Stuff in bin, stuff in a bag for charity. Stuff in other cupboards. Was rainy so didn’t really get out in garden. Picked up a bag that was whirling around. Put a pot in the recycling bin.
Doggy had a big treat and went to the beach. He so needed that big run. That’s where we are going when I’m allowed out!Made dinner for one. Chicken, parsnips, sprouts, broccoli and carrots. And a cheese sauce, only had oat milk and had cheese from a hamper which I know is a really strong cheese and one of my favourites…but I can’t really taste anything! So eating whilst ‘tasting’ texture if that makes sense rather than flavour. And as dinner was cooking I was FaceTimed by my 3 year old great nephew so that was a very nice surprise. He’d turned up at my sister ( his grandma ) so we had a lovely chatter!13 -
Evening all.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A walk in the countryside with OH
2. Just about beat the rain and came back and lit the fire
3. Had crispy duck and pancakes for tea - followed by cheese to fill up
4. watched Anne - sad
5. Been watching The Beatles, Get Back. Mixed feelings; I'm not a huge Beatles fan, and though i like Paul McCartney as a person (at least he seems pretty decent), I don't rate him as a singer (shock! Horror!). But out of all of them, he comes across the best in this film.
For today
1. Finished the Beatles - the rooftop concert footage was fab
2. went for a dog walk with a friend.
3. sat and sewed two masks - I swear they grow legs and walk
4. Feels a little more like normal
5. freezer pot luck for tea - trying to run one of them down.
Have a good evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -

Saw more children jumping in puddles.
2. Went into the mansion for the first time and It was decorated for chef and looked very festive.
