Big virtual hugs to both Sue and Bala.
1 We had to pop out to the vet so stopped in at the Aldi on the way back, it’s the first shop since 22nd Dec, managed to snaffle two 75 percent off meats one will be dinner tomorrow, the other is pork shoulder meat which makes another 2 meals. £21 for the weeks shop, I’m very happy with that.
2 Literally emptied out the leftovers from the fridge into one pan and cooked it all up it was tasty.
3 Numerous pet prescriptions sorted, 3 ordered and on the way and 2 picked up from the vets, £62 a full month’s meds for Kat, Bourneville and Nestle.
4 I’m tracking all spends properly now, thinking of moving it to excel to make it easier than the journal.
5 About to read another chapter, it’s nice to be enjoying reading again.

Hugs to Sue & Bala. Hope the Covid sufferers don’t feel too bad.
Friend round for late lunch on Sunday. I did a repeat Christmas dinner but with chicken breast as we all like it. Homemade apple and berry sponge with double cream for pud. 2 good bottles of red wine 🍷 enjoyed 😊
OHs last day off yesterday and we had another lazy day. He snoozes a lot when he’s off work!
Creamy garlic chicken and chips for dinner.
Back to work for OH today and I tackled some of my son’s mess of business receipts into some sort of order to get ready for the dreaded tax return ☹️
Took down most of the decorations, just left the small lit tree and lights in the lounge for one more evening!
Spicy meatballs and rice for dinner. Tasty and healthy as put loads of veg in the sauce.
Night all 💤12 -
1) having tested +ve hairdresser lovely and has rearranged this week's appointment for 15th, which should be either the day of or the day after incarceration (unless of course my pcr is -ve)
2) booked walk-in PCR, donned mask and trotted off - was very easy (indeed easier than the drive-in imho)
3) arranged with dd2 (still -ve) how we'd work this - i'm lucky that i am in the attic with an en suite. she's 1st floor which also has the family bathroom.
4) As i was due to watch the football with dr m and mr g tomorrow I messaged them both. mr g phoned me to check how i was, did i need the dogs walked? did i need any shopping? dr m on the other hand didn't ask how i was, just messaged to tell me there was a lovely crescent moon, visible for another 15 minutes.... (it was indeed a lovely crescent moon and a glorious clear night - did you know the new moon at this time of year is thought to be a good night for planning the coming year)
5) I do feel I have a bit of a cold now and my nose is itchy though managed a 34 minute workout without any problems, indeed enjoyed it. and decluttered the last of the christmas chocolatesMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good chats with son ,DGD and family14 -
Well done on the sorting out, SS. I ended up nearly related to the man at BT on the phone) who lived in Portsmouth but holidayed in Malvern!)
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Did a few jobs including changing bigger son's bunk bed now he is back at work.
3) Went to Ludlow for a look round the charity shops. Got a friend's birthday card plus a couple of books for my niece's birthday.
4) Had a few leeks left so I cooked them up with some bacon bits and made a posh macaroni cheese for tea.
5) Watched Holby then the second part of 24 Hours in Police Custody.
Feeling very flat and lethargic at the moment but hopefully that will go from Thursday onwards when I have to take mum for her eye lasering (repairing where the cataract operations failed), then start the midday college pickup again then have a big work meeting in the evening. I shall miss this boring time from that day onwards!13 -
Hugs to Suffolksue and Bala
1. Back at work. Managers weren't in so not too bad a day considering it was much busier than it should have been and left late.
2. Started taking Christmas decorations down. All glass ones have been wrapped up and put away.
3. Arranged to meet my sister on Friday. It will be 2 dog walks that day.
4. Mussels for tea with a glass of wine.
5. Reading my book.12 -
GWS wishes DD,
For yesterday,
Laughing with Capt S over our mutual reluctance to start jobs, him with m/e accounts, me with cleaning bathrooms!
More soup, this time it was broccoli with the last of the festive Stilton.
Watching a magpie dive bombing the seed feeder to knock some food to the floor, the pheasant was also around, hoovering up the remnants.
Over to see pony, little mooch around the paddocks, much colder than of late and she wanted to hurry home.
Tea was LO pie from Sunday with added veg.

A very slow-moving day, I’m feeling old - I’ve literally hurt my back by “moving”!!!!, I’ve kept moving mainly as I can’t stop comfortably, I will throw some powerful painkillers at it tonight. I don’t like taking the strong prescription, but with this I think I will be making an exemption.
1 Refilled all the bird feeders as they were nigh on knocking at the door.
2 Made my way through the Christmas decorations, cards all recyclable, some decorations now far beyond saving binned, with a lot re bagged up, boxed and ready to go back in the loft now.
3 Yesterdays reduced meat had cooked up an amazing tasting casserole, there was too much meat so portioned up and froze half for another day.
4 Hoovered upstairs and changed our bedding all very slowly in between tea breaks.
5 I’m cooking up a 3 malt and various seed bread as I felt like using bits up and thought the oven will be warm after the casserole, its doing it’s umpteenth proving at the moment, well it turns out its not bread making weather – what I have is a bread pancake. Ho hum it will go with soup.

PK - sorry to hear about your back. I cricked mine once by sighing!
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in, after the bargaining about going to college was abandoned. :-(
2) Hens OK.
3) Took down the remaining Christmas lights, hoovered and steamed the floors downstairs and hoovered upstairs. Good tidy up and changed the other bunkbed.
4) Went round the charity shop but didn't buy anything except a cloth bag of carved wooden penguin skittles! They were only £1.99 and I am sure we will have a game at some point.
5) Watched the Repair Shop.11 -
thanks for the good wishes, bearing up well so far
1) result from PCR came pretty much bang on 24 hours (they'd warned up to 72) - both me and DD2 +ve (her LFD still -ve so she must be at the point I was Sunday - infected but not infectious) - so that means I can wander round the whole house again unmasked and don't need to eat in my bedroom
2) as grounded but not ill decided to work instead of taking these three days as annual leave and take my AL when I can get out again - a relatively good day's work
3) 12th night so down came the trees, cards recycled, last mince pie scoffed
4) gbf very kindly came round to walk the dogs since now neither of us should go out with them
5) 2 glorious hours of Vaughan Williams on classicfm - I am a huge fan.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
