Oh no, Mhagster. Hope that soon settles/ goes away
Well done D Doll daughter. Clever girl! ( like her mum😀)
Thank you for the well wishes and the buzz
Unfortunately another day, another antibiotic! A very specific one which has to be IV and so no discharge yet. At least I can still visit ( they've closed two wards to visitors because of covid) so my one pre arranged hour is very much appreciated.
Back home it's like mission control but I'm very grateful for all the calls and messages.
Happy New Years Eve everyone11 -
Hope you’re not hit too badly Mhags
Happycas I hope theyve got the correct antibiotics this time
sunny here now
1 pruned the roses
2 just had lunch ,roasted a v reduced chicken ,cooked parsnips carrots and sprouts along with a couple of potatoes
3 the pleasure of the above is that I cooked ,stopped bothering in the recent down period so hopefully I’m on the way up again .
4 Slept better last night
5 finally trying to sort the dumping ground that is my bedroom ,just slowly but I’ve found DH iPad which I’d mislaid a few months ago ,was v sad as thought I’d inadvertently binned it and it’s got lots of photos on ,
so pleased I’ve found it ,must admit I shed a tear it’s now charging11 -

Hello. Still waiting on PCR results…have been checking my phone all blooming day! However Admiral PP will be pleased to know that vacuuming has been done ( very hairy doggy in winter moult ) .
The extension ( which I should maybe call something else after 3 years!) is sparkling! The huge big window has been cleaned ( balancing on a ladder job) and the lampshade finally cleaned after months of saying I must clean that lampshade…it’s an even higher balancing on a ladder job ( probably a job an overly tall son would do) about 4 balls found under the pulled out sofa ( dog was delighted) …quite exhausted by it all but glad it’s done!Chatter to sister on phone.
Drunken text from DD1 for whom it’s already next year. And all things Christmassy plopped in a big bag until I start sorting out the garage. A job for next year!DD2 friend kindly did a small shop for us ( life essentials…crisps and dips and a tub of cream so I can make a pavlova tomorrow.
And just a chance to say thank you to each and everyone who shares their days ( warts and all!) here. I’ve been writing here for 10 years. In a diary type form I can look back and clearly remember what and where I was. Of what was seemingly important at the time and also things that simply make me smile. Five years ago we were watching 2016 arrive in firework form from the second top floor of a hospital, as a family of five, knowing it was our last together. I’m finding being at the five year stage of last things we were doing quite hard as it just seems that regardless time ticks on and still miss my husband just as much. But I think he’d be looking down saying well done on the parsnip mountain and bargainous bags of dog food and think she’s doing okay!So make the most of each and every day. And DD let us know if we need to buy a hat anytime soon 😍
Happy Hogmanay …see you all next year 😊12 -

Happy New Year, everyone!
Pleasures for today (New Years Eve)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK. I tied a head of broccoli up for them to peck at. 3 eggs today.
3) I made a shepherds pie ready for tea.
4) Put all the Christmas decorations away, apart from the lights around the living room. Had a good tidy up. Hoovered and steamed the floors downstairs.
5) Sainsburys order arrived.
6) Phoned my school friend.
7) My brother came round at 7pm and we had the shepherds pie then the fruit flan. Then some samosas, pork pies and cheese and biscuits. Then some shortbread and baklava!
8) We played Settlers of Catan then dug out the old Wii for bowling and golf. Finished the evening with the Virtual Pub Quiz at 11.30.
9) In bed with one hot water bottle (no heating today as it has been up to 15 degrees outside!)14 -
Lol re hat mhags I suspect not, he says I’m a very very mad woman (though maybe an improvement on ‘there’s men there’s women and there’s’ (insert my first name) which was what he said before.
1) a strange day where’s the end of 2021 seemed to hang heavy as did the fog. Made bread and the 52nd weekly soup from frasers seasonal soup book, my aim at the beginning of 2021
2) walked the dog so to and around the nature’s reserve - picked up 110 items of litter, 70 en route
3) then jog with colleague - we walked and talked more than we’d jogged - was good fun
4) then my sweet chilli lentil soup very yummy then a nap
5) last leg followed by a fire in the garden and sparklers with dd2. I stayed out far longer, something very peaceful about watching flames. Welcomed the new year in with mugs of tea. Happy new year everyone, looking forward to another year of sharing our 5 pleasures
