-ve! Oh bother? mmmm?
Rain everywhere!
Bitsers being taken.
Frith when yous finished, heads need doing!
And books!One too ...
Watched another flix last night. CHiPs 99 very good. Fruit juices and xmas biscuits were taken. Yes Ponch was in it as well. Cheese was eaten.
Had the poached egg and mushrooms this morning at breakfast, tea was also mugged, tum was rubbed.
Took the Albatross to her work and then herded to the Discount Surplus Store for provisions, picked up some wine and fiery waters as well! Special cheeses were also purchased! That is everything in and came to £61.11 against T at £73.44, w8r5 again too expensive at £82.84. That makes over the last three months the Surplus Discount Store at £926.42 against w8r5 at £1,370.38! 48% more expensive and is it really worth it. Besides the lettuce purchased last week is still fresh today and is being served up with pork pie!
Now watching the SA cricket with me tea in a mug and xmas biscuit!

Hello all
Pleasures recently
1. Not doing much at all - not even walks as weather has been so poor
2. Finished my 27th book of the year (A Thousand Splendid Suns)
3. A trip to the Severn Valley Railway - won't need to go again for a few years, but enjoyed it. Especially in the dark
4. fires and tv
5. finishing up the nice food
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
And my day began with a burst of get up and go…until I saw my LFT…positive! Grrrr and then the second one was also positive. So more GRRRRR!That’ll be why I didn’t feel great yesterday ( though had tested negative in the morning) and all I did was read a book. And I was determined I wasn’t wasting another day doing nothing. Pffft! Anyway not much taste (it’s weird) a congested nose and throat. Got to go out as far as the drive through test centre….hello trees…oh look three blackbirds.
Filled a bucket of pruning / weeds from garden. Just a little bit each day is the plan.
A knock at the door…( like rapunzel I looked out the window and called down ) and a lovely hamper of food sent ( I’m assuming) from DD1. It had cheese, chutney, pate, chocolate, tablet & biscuits. A very nice surprise.Took a book upstairs but watched ‘A very British scandal’ instead. On to the final episode.Made a macaroni of sorts, popped some bacon and peas in it. Much to the wrath of DD2! Oh just eat it! Couldn’t really taste it properly but at least I’ve eaten ( I’m hardly likely to fade away any time soon)13 -
Mhags, thoughts are with you, and what thoughtful family.Happycas, Dh is in the right place to be hopefully improving soon.Montserratlabis, I can relate to that, the rtc’s over here are mainly on unhealthy things that I love - so I am trying to avoid it all now
1 Porridge for brekkie, Turkey and pickle sarnie for lunch and I made toad in the hole for some of the leftover sausages, I always bemuse over how to serve it so cooked some broccoli and gravy with it.
2 I planted out some bulbs.
3 DH has just completed his 1000-piece jigsaw and the prize for the puzzle that kept him busy the longest goes to my DB.
4 I have done a bit of “writing tidying” good for my mental health at least. and about to read another chapter of a book.
5 Meal planned for a few days, fish and chips as DH is craving home made fish and chips apparently, New Years Day writes itself with a small roast.

Get well soon, MHags.
I hope your husband is going on OK, Happycas.
Hope the laundry is going alright, Ampersand. No tumble dryer here but I could offer you a string that I pull out between the beams in the living room!
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Good to get up after a ridiculous sleep. Fell asleep between 5.30 and 6am.
2) Went to Floody City to see my friend from sixth form college (who is no longer local). We went round the charity shops together and to a cafe.
3) Popped to Waitrose afterwards. Worryingly, they have put back the date of the cafe reopening even further. I used to like having a cup of tea there on the way to collect smaller son (If I get there early and he sees my car out of the window, he just gets up and leaves! Hence hiding up the road at Waitrose).
4) Hens OK and three eggs! First time in months. Had a chat in the rain with the farmer feeding his sheep opposite.
5) Got home and had a chat with the neighbour (still in the rain).
6) Still tidying and using up Christmas food. Had sausage, mash and baked beans for tea, then chopped up half a pineapple and had with melted down Christmas chocolate!
7) Did the virtual pub quiz and finally got a shout out! Then watched the Sewing Bee.
8) Made a flan with bits from the freezer - black and red currants plus a few blackberries. We will have that for New Years Eve tea plus shepherds pie (smaller son's favourite). Bigger son is in Wales so will have to make sure he is over the border if he wants to dance in a pub! It was strange in the lockdowns when we could see Wales from the window but not drive there.11 -
loved a thousand splendid suns vjsmum
1) dd2 and i both tested -ve then we walked into town as she had a job interview at 10 - we had a good chat on the way down
2) went to henry's for a cup of tea while she had her interview - who should be in there but Dr M so plonked myself down opposite him - he was reading the guardian - i did say i'd brought a book with me and why i was there. we had a good chat then we both read
3) dd2 got the jobi walked her to her friend's then back to mum's, phoning dad en route. had lunch at mum's then we took stuff to the recycling centre - very satisfying
4) i watched the king and i - sweet, forgot how it ended, sniff
5) then pub with dr m and mr g. dr m walked me home, i said i'd see him 2022, he said he didn't know what he'd be doing new year's eve - was that an invitation for me to say something? if so too late. unless i test +ve in the interim (which of course is always possible!) we're next watching chelsea on Sunday afternoon. 4th luton match postponed in a row admiralMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

4. Started a new book.
5. Met friends for a meal. Good food and much laughter.10 -
Hope you feel better soon Mhags.
Sorry, no TD here & ☹️.
Congrats to DD’s DD!
For yesterday,
Quick trip into horsey town for a few bits, not much in the way of rtc bargains but did pick up some of beloved’s favourite teriyaki chicken dumplings for tonight.
Woohoo, some sunshine and v mild again so popped small dog into the car and took her for a walk around the back of the studs, lots of people seemed to have the same idea and most of them had spaniels too!
Listened to a ISIHAC then snoozed on sofa.
Suddenly remembered that I had purchased a box of Bendicks pre Christmas and stashed them in the dining room cupboard, yum.
Early night, the wind had really got up and was rattling the windows but all cosy inside.10 -
VJ has been all steamed up!
MHags, you sound just lick the Admiral, GRRRRR

Unless yous up north!
Practiced the party food last evening, with the Rudolph voluvents filled with red hot chili prawns, some mushrooms in hoisin sauce, banger rolls and some spring rolls! Tasty!
Tested the fiery fizzy waters as well! Of course, cheese was taken!
Watched The Man who invented Christmas on the box last night. Very good! The waters were taken watching this!
Up early to feed kitty, have my honey monster in ice cold milk and mug of tea! The Albatross has made her final attempt on the land speed record this morning ! Tomorrow it is five years to she retired aged 60! It can be done!
Now sat watching the bash with me nice mug of tea, and reading your doings! Sorry I was not here for sometime, but a low profile was ... Seem to have done the same on the farcebuck things as well! I only put-up nonsense bits, and the like! But I do like the borough here!
All the best for the day!
