5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

For yesterday, an indeterminate day between Christmas and New Year,
A few chores just to tidy and settle the house after guests, also made a loaf.
Lots of new cookbook reading and notes made of recipes to try.
Over to see my equine friend, she had been left in her rug and in the shelter of the stable was too hot so took that off and gave her a good groom. Saw both of my fellow livery owners and had a good catch up. We all bemoaned the lack of enthusiasm for riding in the depths of winter but no doubt ponies are happy to have a seasonal break.
Drove home and the pleasure of walking down the path to see Capt S just leaving to take small dog out so dumped my bag & joined them.
Easy tea of bubble & squeak with added chestnuts.

Got home yesterday after 4 days with DS and family.

It was so noisy!,
I did bite my tongue a lot - I don’t think my youngest grandson would survive v long with me !,
I received some lovely presents
Pleased to see you mostly had reasonable times

Sunday was all good with second serving of the roast beef bu a major kitchen transgression. Me though I got the cauliflower out and tipped into steamer bottom to find it was swede! But added the carrots and the mash was done! With broccoli and mashed tatties and pan gravy!
Watched a film on the Amazon thing, Christmas Eve. Very good and well thought. Fiery fizzy water was drunked and cheeses taken!
Up early with some honey monster yesterday and tea, then we was off to see big sis! Packed off with chocolate and wine! Very good catch up as she looks foward to seeing me!
Bit wet coming home and things, but ploughed through in normal fashion!
Watched anotehr flix last night on the net. In the Line of Fire. Anotehr Eastwood. Very good again. We tooke some fiery fizzy waters and cheeses were consumed! Nearly out of the special season cheeses!
Was up again this day with more honey monster, tea and a nice x bun. Nice toasted with proper butter and jam. Good for you!
Off to the discount surplus store and stocked up! The Albatorss picked up the 16 ton swede and carrots for 10 pennies and they have been blanched and frozen! Party food sorted for the weekend. The cat treats were reduced so as rule of the Admiral was invoked and loads of pawsome treats purchased! Also the yule log was over half price and was removed from the shelf as well! Trolley came to £42.05 against similar at the w8r5 in excess of £66!
No game today DD as the team are <words removed as The Admiral would be band!>
Now watching the cricket, not the rooted version, but South Africa! Water, which you need p[lenty off to drink is being taken as well as a street sweet!
Jen sends her Buzz, I think is needed this day!

Day number no idea! It’s actually officially day 5 but more like day 7!Anyway I’ve read another book. Just finished it. Read a chapter, did a chore, read a chapter, did a chore.Christmas tree is out in the garden.Touched up a couple of bits of painting that have been needing doing before I put plants back in place ( where tree had been)
washed floors and hoovered.
made a lovely pasta using up lots of veggies from fridge.Swept up in garden.Pruned back some lavender and geraniums.10 -
Post wiped out last night, had even uploaded a pic.😖😡🤬
Now at Rugby Club, using dryer for 1st binliner full, 2 X 45 minute cycles might do it. Repeat for next10 days or so.
Probably another 5-7 loads to try and salvage. About 17 done so far, all need drying.
Then wait until shelves are replaced. Replaster wall. Lift and replace hall carpet. Can old fine kelims be saved?
Keep going &.

The Albatross is on a half day and is making an attempt on the land speed record! It does not count as most are off the road, and as the Admiral makes the rules, I shall call it null and void! I still hold the record!
Now just sat with mug of tea! Bash is on!

Pedal to the metal Albatross!
For yesterday,
Long dog walk in wet weather, thank goodness for waterproofs and welly-boots.
Chatting to middle DN via messenger, she has the dreaded lurgy and pretty fed up.
LFT’s all clear so over to see DB and family, we had a lovely time and enjoyed lots of cuddles with great nephew who is now 6 months, he is a smiling, contented baby and ooh so scrumptious 🥰
Came away with three more books, secondhand gifts from family.
Laughing at Fast Show antics, one of my favourite comedy shows.

Good morning. Grey again!
No operation for DH today! Spiking temp yesterday, wobbly, confused. More tests to find what sort of infection he has. Some results can take 48 hours to come back so nothing happening until that's sorted.
The good news is that two days of fasting seems to have settled the original problem!
So apart from my one designated visiting hour I've done very little. But today I have managed to sort out the fridge. Lots of things transferred to freezer and others put to one side to donate to DD/DS when they come to do the taxi service to hospital and back
Happy grey day everyone9
