Merry Christmas one and all.Just popped dinner in oven so will be a bit longer to wait. Dozed on sofa for longer than expected…missed the Queens Speech but have since caught up. Her words resonated with me.Up since very early, we did our presents just after 5am ( which I know sounds ridiculous) but I was up, dog was up and DD2 was having a coughing fit so we just did our presents. She sat at the door to my bedroom and I sat in my bed. Poor thing. But both happy with our gifts.Dog was delighted with his. Then lots of phone calls, son, sister, niece, mum, friend and caught up with all of them . Santa kind to all…apart from my son…poor thing, his presents are in my ( tidied) hall cupboard! Though he did get a bank transfer on Thursday!Made lentil soup for lunch …then I think I snoozed! For dinner we are having chicken breast, roast potatoes ( NOT leftover from work…a treat for Christmas 😆) and RTC parsnips from the parsnip mountain and roasted carrots. With sprouts ( real food) and cauliflower. No time before imposed isolation to get little sausages. So making do with what we had in fridge. Then for pudding I took a slice of roulade out the freezer as it’s just me that will want it. Leaving more for another day!I’ve been in my pyjamas all day with my lovely Christmas socks all the way from Australia. Had a chat with DD1 last night which was of course her Christmas Day already. Missed her today. I got a lovely ring ( which I’d chosen), some seeds, a lovely new pinny , some smelly stuff, socks. Which are lovely ( I’d said to DD2 please don’t get me socks or jammies…but these ones have koalas on them so that’s okay and obviously DD1 didn’t get that memo! ) I got just enough as I really do not need stuff!Have a nice night. Looking forward to Call The Midwife later and have one eye on the dinner and another on Strictly. 🎄🎄🎄11

Sorry to hear about all the coronavirus annoyances.
Pleasures for today (Christmas Day)
1) Woke up at 5 (don't know why) then at 7.30. Ran in and threw stockings on sons' beds! Put the gold and silver coins down the stairs, as tradition dictates.
2) Bigger son was most pleased with his new juggling balls, new (charity shop) Jack Wills top and festive socks. Smaller son liked his football team t shirts. Bigger son bought me some new slippers and smaller son bought me a new phone charger cable, both of which are what I needed the most.
3) Mum, dad and my brother popped round briefly. My brother bought me a new baking tray (as requested!) and some just about to flower hyacinth bulbs.
4) Lunch preparation went smoothly, All the usual stuff but chicken instead of turkey. We haven't had the Christmas pudding yet as we were too full.
5) There was something very festive about seeing 2 mums, dads and grandparents go to next door carrying parcels and dishes of food!
6) Bigger son has gone to his girlfriend's now and I spent the afternoon doing the washing up and having a tidy. Lit the candles.
7) My school friend popped in for a cup of tea.
8) Going to have cheese and biscuits now then watch GBBO.13 -
Happy christmas all - sorry for those with disrupted plans

2. watched A Muppet Christmas Carol last night
3. The heating pump was changed before it broke, but regrettably the oven was condemned! the pleasure is that it was only the bigger of the two and we have been left the smaller side oven (about 1/3 size of the whole)
4. Got my new glasses - they're nice
5. some nice walks
Will do today's tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day

For yesterday,

Evening all - sounds like most managed to have a good day yesterday
here's my pleasures
Yesterday
1. All pressies well received. Bizarrely, particularly the plastic bucket i bought OH. He'd put it on his list as his old one had a hole (dear Liza, dear Liza). That I'd filled it with beer was not as popular as the bucket itself!
2. Only having a tiny oven meant a change of menu, but the small turkey crown was delicious and, thankfully, I have a countertop halogen that aided proceedings
3. A walk up the lane before the rain set in
4. we watched Luca and then DOn't Look Up in the evening.
5. In bed with my new, cozy jim jams (Fat Face, super expensive and so have to be a pressie)
And today
1. Awake at 4.30 with a UTI 😥 but thankfully could get a treatment from Boots
2. a bath with Call the Midwife
3. Traditional Boxing Day lunch (turkey and gammon, chips and pickles followed by the last bit of yule log DD made)
4. DD and I watched Tick Tick Boom while the menfolk went to see the Villa lose
5. Will have cheese and biscuits when OH gets back.
Enjoy your evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
It fits that &'s attempt to post last 3 full cauchemar days disappeared after 2 pics.

All linens, bedding, toiletries and giftsets etc discovered soggy and sodden over undiscovered, but clearly long-time insidious leakage down r-h inner wall of hw cupboard.
Longterm watermarks, rust staining, verdigris streaks, mildew patches through all of it, depending on fabric - modern bedding, fine vintage linen, cotton, percale etc.
All ruined.
OK, 1st world problems, but the timing and financial hits are grim.
Non-stop 90⁰+bleach boil washes, sometimes twice, ever since, in probably vain attempts to salvage anything at all.
Watermarked carpet beneath kelim now over 2metres out along passage and advancing.
Of course, 3 days' rain is not a way to drape or dry anything outside.
No room left for more indoors.
Non-designated plumber came. So relieved it was X. He came when similar happened several years ago.
Tank drained, some copper piping replaced. A stupid magnetic inhibitor thing, from which & could feel seepage, removed for good.
2 disasters now, since dreadful Vaillant installation, never wanted by &.🤬
Must spend next days trying to launder, then take crates of everything damp to large commercial tumble dryers, if any are about - probably Town of Horse. Must research.
Fingers x'd.

1. There are presents to open after above is sorted, several days away yet. Feels justified to wait.
2. Vicar's brilliant talents, again apparent in 5 sthgs received.
3. Stopped in there for fizz and crazy games after plumber's visit, breaking self-imposed Bubble of 1.
4. Dug up some h-g potatoes at last. Lovely roasties.
5. R. played Adam Laye Y-Bounden at end of things this morning(as promised after sparsely attended service on Christmas Eve) and, amidst all else, & thought Soddit! and sang it solo through mask.

& remains in love with voice and words of Horatio Clare, R3 Festive Walks - Ben Nevis yesterday, Slieve Donald today, 2 more yet, 16h daily.

That's rubbish, Ampersand.
Pleasures for today (Boxing Day)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and one egg.
3) Tasty chicken, stuffing and mango chutney sandwiches for lunch.
4) Got bits of housework done.
5) Did some baked brie for tea (we have a lot of cheese!)
6) Watched Gone Fishing.
7) In exciting news for PK, my sister went into her garden this morning and found an albino ferret! We all had our own ferrets when we were growing up so she caught it and put it in a cardboard box. It is very tame and very thin. It has gone to live with my brother' ferrets.13
