1 We popped out for the weekly shop, we decided one shop only and chose Aldeee, it was okay-ish but they did not have a lot of things. However, we aren’t going to keel over without double cream or red cabbage etc, we did pick up other bits such as winter cookie foaming hand wash and an electric sander half price, we have plenty but I was hoping to get enough that we wouldn’t need to go out for a fair while.
2 Popped to the pharmacy and had a last chin wag with the pharmacy who’s friendly and there was a que out of the shop by the time we had caught up, but I can honestly say who cares it was lovely to chat with a friendly face, we also picked up our prescriptions and that was well timed as the chap was literally delivering the stock for part of my inhaler as I arrived.
3 I made the royal icing and decorated the cake with nuts and edible glitter, achieving that just decorated by a toddler look.
4 Hoovered all the upstairs, ran out of steam will do downstairs tomorrow.
5 We ordered in and it was lovely all gone now thou, and leftovers put out for the foxes

Good morning
V Life - so glad there's been a step forward at work. It really shouldn't be a daily battle!
Yesterday met DD and partner for breakfast. Well, they all had breakfast, I had a muffin. Chocolate muffin with mincemeat centre and brandy butter. And vegan!! How good is that!
Did some cleaning and tidying which has been a bit neglected because of the bad back. So glad that's gone.
DS rang on their way back from Centre Parcs. They'd had a much needed break and thoroughly enjoyed it. So pleased for them as they missed their summer holiday because of DGD operation.
Watched a lovely film, The Bishop's Wife. Black and white, and charming. And nearly as old as me!
The cooking of the ham today. Slow cooker in cider, then finish off in oven with a marmalade glaze ( and drink any cider left in the bottle )
Happy Christmas Eve everyone

Glad to hear that your DGD is in the road to recovery SSue.
For yesterday,
Early start and out to the farm shop to pick up turkey & veg box, already a queue but everyone was cheery and we soon got served.
Last few chores, iced the cake and made a loaf.
Young people arrived, we let small dog greet them at the garden gate and she was pirouetting with excitement. A big catch up on everyone’s news and lots of cups of tea.
The Trivial Pursuit game then came out and the answers got funnier as wine was drunk, eldest was designated driver so stayed sober.
They then went out for a couple of hours to catch up with local friends, we lay on the sofa eating choc and watching Christmas specials on the telebox.14 -

We too are having a covidy Christmas unfortunately. Not me ( currently) but a very poorly child who was just getting over being a very poorly child)So all tenuous plans are out the window and we shall just go with the flow ( lateral…see what I did there,)
I am going to put on some clean jammies and have a pyjama day which always seems very decadent! But we ain’t going anywhere any time soon.Son had to be put off from coming tomorrow but I transferred him some money with instructions to buy some nice food for Christmas Day and get himself a toblerone . We’ll catch up when we can and do a proper dinner then.
The kindness of friends and offers of help and doorstep deliveries is appreciated.Have a beautiful Christmas Eve whatever you’re up to x15 -
