Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to a Carers' Association breakfast in a farm shop. Sat with some interesting people, including a couple whose son had competed in the Special Olympics.
4) Motored on from there to collecting smaller son from college at 12. This is a rare 100% attendance week!
5) Went to see my brother. I had been unable to get the bonnet of my ancient car open and had run out of windscreen water. He managed to get it open and topped up the water and put windscreen stuff in it (which is something I have never done in 30 years of driving!) AND topped up the oil!
6) Put up my new Christmas lights around the living room, stood on a chair. Smaller son helped and didn't need to stand on a chair.
7) Bigger son and his girlfriend went indoor parachuting.
8) We had an Indian takeaway to celebrate 100% attendance week. Getting the man to the front door (on the phone) was like something from the Crystal Maze. "I can see your car hazard warning lights. Keep walking forward. Not that way. Go down there and you'll see me waving"
9) Watched I'm a Celebrity.11 -
Morning All
New vet yesterday for Tiggy. Fingers crossed. She hasn't been well whilst I was away neither since I have been back. But I have surprised myself on the last 2 appointments.
Dealing with the many many medical professionals over the last year has created a profound shift in my confidence. I have only just realised this.
10 days ago I politely 'told' the vet that there was no need for an internal examination of Tiggy as I knew that once again it was an anal gland problem. These are very painful for Tiggy and I have enough experience with her anal gland problems to recognise the signs. It's her weakness.
And then yesterday I once again 'told' the vet (politely) that she was healed so no need for an internal. This was not me in the past. It is me now.
She has other problems being investigated as of yesterday. First injections once a week for 4 weeks (pronounced limp) and then if no improvement, x-rays. As she has over the years had lumps removed (2 of which were low grade cancer) I had to tell the vet this.................and then promptly burst into tears.
Typical !
Have a great day.........

Good for you Bala.
For yesterday,
More Christmas creeping in, this time some lights put up and I also had to stand on chair ☺️Sat and wrote my cards - bought directly from a mare & foal sanctuary plus rspb PP - so another task ticked off list.
Had a very interesting chat with archaeologist working in field next to cottage, he’s found a large number of animal bones plus some ancient wheel rut marks so suspects there may have been some sort of barn on the site, dating back to the Saxon period. Apparently the darker part of the soil is where a now dried up river run across the land. Fascinating stuff.
Sweet and sour prawns stir fry for tea, with extra cashews coz they are my beloved’s favs.
More archaeology, programme about excavations around Stonehenge.10 -
Bala -hugs . I do hope the injections work.
For the past couple of days.
1. Survived work on Wednesday.
2. Work reasonable on Thursday but at a different site.
3. Lovely sunrise over the river.
4. Went to the pub and saw a couple of friends there. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
5. Chat with neighbour.
6. DH went shopping and now have plenty of crisps and nuts for Christmas.

Good morning. It’s a cold and frosty one here but quite light already. I woke up when DD2s alarm went off at 8am! Whaaaat? Had my flu jab yesterday and it must have had marvellous sleep making qualities as I never ever sleep that long! Then realised I hadn’t put out the recycling bins last night as it was very windy so had to dash outside in my jammies! So yesterday morning I made mince pies with DD1, across the miles which was lovely. As were the mince pies. Dropped a few off at a neighbour.
Had my ouchy ouch massage which does help. But just ouch!Into town with DD2. She had to collect her new glasses and then choose prescription sunglasses which I’m paying for her Christmas gift. Then she bought mine. Had to try it on to check it fitted. And then it was all beautifully wrapped and sent off to Santa!Home briefly before back out to GP for flu jag. The first time I’ve ever had one. So far other than an excellent sleep I feel okay.Went out and got another too good to go bag. Which was a bit too meaty for me but what’s freezable is frozen will send home with son when he’s down at Christmas.Call to said son so he got keys for his new flat yesterday and just has to move his stuff back and forth from storage.11 -
Banger Casserole

Saxon Barn. Amazing what we dig up?
Motored on and the Hen are Ok!
Mess Call!
Bog finished and sealed again! Will set over the weekend! Looks good! No it has not been tested! On the wc thing, I have tested the facebuck ai algorithms this morning. The Poo is in the post! Not the word I used on the great database but is a hit! Sorry I had to!
Watched another film last night, Monster in Law. We had a Chinese takeawy for a change and some fiery fizzy waters as well! Very good.
Had Edinburgh breakfast this morning, a six egg version as well. The Albatross suggested it and it was really creamy. Kitty was going berserk trying to get at the salmon, she does detect the decent food!
Right, things to do on deck, swept the floors and mopped! All ready for the neighbour to look after Kitty tomorrow as we are out at sea celebrating. Yes, we are having a xmas bash and too hoots to! No report tomorrow but will be on the football. #UTM #UTH

3 Popped out to Aldee and did the weeks shop.
4 I’ve just tried a “Trinny makeup” foundation sample expecting to be underwhelmed and I am more than a bit impressed, coming from someone who isn’t into makeup.
5 Delivered the local Christmas cards.
For yesterday
1 Finished wrapping up bits and bobs.
2 Always nice to be in the warm with a cuppa.
3 Cooked up a batch of mince pies, rather tastey.
