I has been cursing at cricket. No more comment!

Bog On! The wc has been refitted to the bathroom and the box for the tiles sore ted! All grouted and now just need to do the bath side with the sealant! Will be done in the morning, as I think I deserve a fiery fizzy water this evening!

After doing the bog, we nipped out for fish and chips! Tasty as well, proper food and good for you!

Last night we court up with the uni challenge thing, and some Amazonia bits! Fruit juices were taken and cheeses consumed!

Right that is all!

Is it just me or is it a very long week?! 
1) Still smiling over the compliment I was paid Monday evening - won't come to anything but made me feel good
2) What a storm on Tuesday! very pleased no trees came down out the back
3) Due to storm and travel vestry cancelled but by then the weather had settled down so tripped off to Mennies to watch the Liverpool match
4) christmas lunch today with friends
5) my BiL is finally home 30 staples out!!! DS sent photos of him with their dog looking very happy to have her master home. So that could have been my pleasures 1 - 5!

Frith

Pleasures for today (Thursday)

1) Not a bad sleep.

2) Hens OK.

3) Smaller son has done 3 days at college in a row. Just tomorrow to go...

4) Wrapped Christmas presents and lots of stocking fillers. This took 3 hours. I felt I was on a roll so popped to town and got the last remaining Christmas presents and Christmas Eve pyjamas. (I remember the old days when I could buy sons new pyjamas for about a fiver each pair. They are men's  L and XL now and much more pricy!) 

5) Cooked lots of roast veg so there will be some for another meal. Had veg with fish cakes this evening.

6) Looking forward to I'm a Celebrity...

7) Booked smaller son's first vaccine, though he is now panicking and saying he won't go (again). Also booked my flu jab.

For yesterday,

The Postie arrived with parcels, including a box of sweet treats from a grateful customer of Capt S.

The festive season is gradually creeping into the cottage, small illuminated tree placed in porch window, very cheery.

Saw my pony, she was in a funny mood and obviously not happy about being disturbed during her afternoon nap. All forgiven by a carrot or two.

Tasty tea of Spainish chicken, love a one pot meal and so does my washer-upper!

Enjoyed Old House, New House, I usually don’t like what they do to old properties but this one I would happily live in.

Good morning! Not sure why I didn’t post last night. 

Yesterday was a quiet-ish day. Just me and the dog. We just went a couple of shorter walks as leg is sore, posted some Christmas cards. Mooched around. Had fire on. 

So far today I’ve been on the go since 5.30am, up early to make mince pies in synchronicity with DD1 in Australia. Hope hers were as nice as mine! May have sampled a few! Straight from the oven to the belly! 

And an appointment changed from 12.30 to 9.30 which suits me better as can now fit something else in that I couldn’t before.

Bog on and now to reseal the bath later, but first write my things on the borough. Just to get the things ready to put bath panel back on we are finished.

Watched another Amazonian thing again last night, Queenpins. Very good, and usual Fiery Fizzy waters and cheeses were taken. Was in the Discount Surplus Store last night, and got the vintage cheddar cheese that is very tasty. No cheap mild version on the ship!

Just sat now writing the wrongs of the world and drinking my mug of tea and biscuits of nuts ginger!

Good afternoon

S Sue - this time of year is always difficult, memory wise.  And a birthday at the same time makes it more so. Thinking of you with hugs.

Trip to town yesterday to finish present shopping - I hope!

Gradually adding more decorations around the house.  Tree to go up this weekend - I hope!

Lovely evening out with friends.  A new-to-us Indian restaurant. Excellent food with such generous portions we all took take-away bags home. Ours is now safely in the freezer.

1) first meeting 8am with student who got their PhD with very minor change last Friday - once done she’ll be working on papers which will be fun
2) beautiful sunrise - pink sky
3) another student successfully defended his PhD this afternoon, again minor corrections, so happy for him but goodness I’m shattered
4) last of the sausage casserole
5) then Christmas catchup online with friends. Which was better than watching the Leicester game. And now in bed night night
