What a storm (again).
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep, though woke early again.
2) Hens OK.
3) Intended to go to Waitrose on the way to collect smaller son from college but the cafe is SHUT UNTL JANUARY!! The horror.
I went into floody city instead to get a few more presents (nearly done!) then had breakfast in the Turkish cafe. Did the charity shops afterwards and got a top.
4) Popped out to get some hen food. We had about 5cm of hail in the space of half an hour. Appalling weather this afternoon and evening.
5) Made halloumi kebabs for tea with rice.
6) Dad of Frith's annual tv appearance! He was on Live: Winter on the Farm, shown on Channel 5 yesterday. He's about 30 minutes in, wearing a green coat, flat cap and the fluorescent armband of the holly market staff. My brother says he was also in shot, but I couldn't spot him!
7) Watched I'm a Celebrity and I will just put in a topical link here that Ampersand and others might enjoy...

Frith - I enjoyed the clip. Been told that all work Christmas parties have too be cancelled.
1. Had a bus ride to other site at work for a basic life support assessment. The assessment took about 10 minutes and the trip took over 2 hours!
2. Chat with colleague at other site who I rarely see.
3. Enjoyed reading my book on the bus.
4. Messaged a friend who was feeling ill.
5. Rearranged some items at home including plants which makes the house look more homely.12 -

Ha ha on the clip Frith.
Hugs SSue.
For yesterday,
Lots of errands first thing, dog food, petrol and horse feed, surprising what you can get in a mini!
Over to yard for feed drop off, hello pony, snug as a bug in her rug. She frisked me for carrots then went back to grazing.
Just got home and driver appeared with large box, that will be the guest bed then, at least eldest DSS will have something to sleep on.
The storm come over, we hunkered down with tea and cake.
The U’s won 5 nil away from home, bit of sporting cheer ahead of the dismal news coming from Aus this morning.

Yes, Sue, a year of firsts has to be lived through and acknowledged and then things start to lighten up in life. Do something for yourself, this Christmas, buy yourself a treat gift that your DH would have bought for you. Have some nice food and some cheesy Christmas telly. After the solstice the days will slowly start to lengthen and the sun will return. One life - your life - live it!15

Pleasures galore...
Choir performance at Cathedral carol concert, amazing accoustics.
First snow of the season, just enough to be pretty.
Christmas meal night out with choir gang, ending with impromptu concert where all the staff kept popping in to have a listen.
Sunday out with daughter, browsing shops and having lunch in a cat cafe with four legged friends wandering around.
No mention of work? I am on leave this week. The day before I left, someone I helped, a person who has been a challenge, thanked me and said I had been exceptional, really good to him.
Decorations up in dining room, only living room, hall and stairs to do.. and tree to put up.
The company of my dog and cats, priceless.
Beautiful winter skies, not as grand as in my Fen town of origin, but still pretty.
Looking ahead to Saturday - driving 200 miles with son and dog to visit my dad and stepmum. Daughter taking train, I am picking her up at a station on the way down. Presents will be exchanged, saves on postage.
Case of wine received from stepson yesterday, that's the falling down liquid sorted for the season.
And tonight another choir performance to look forward to.

Hello. I’m an absolute lazy bones this morning! Not quite managed to get dressed yet! Was up earlier then dozed off and woke up a bit dizzy so I’m taking my time.Following my yesterday today is another day! 😆😆😆😆
Up early.Vets for dog meds then dropped stuff off at charity shop. I’m in a de-cluttering mood. Stuff just creeps in!Home and the snow started. I’d ordered logs. Chap came, I went out to pay him for one bag. Covered the one bag in a tarp to deal with later.Went to go and meet friends ( ha!) there were two tonne bags of logs! Whaaaat?Got to restaurant. Sat at table all set out and no one else turned up. Checked phone and oh my goodness the sinking feeling when I’d realised it was for next week! All my own fault. I’d given them the choice of 2 dates, 7th or 14th and no one had replied so I went for 14th and booked it when I was in for breakfast weeks ago. Then one of the girls had messaged to say we had an extra and could I change the booking, I called up and said it was the 7th. Duh! So I had to pay for 2 sets of afternoon tea…so an expensive mistake! But they gave me 5 sets away with me, all boxed up.
Frantic message to friend to see if they could come and join us for tea! Tuna sandwich anyone? Popped on a few roast potatoes ( blooming leftover from work that fill my freezer! ) and two packs of sausages from my too good to go bag! And we had a very nice dinner! With tiny cakes for pud and friend took a box of cakes home.Meanwhile back to the logs! Called and said I’d only ordered one bag and she said oh I was going from your last order of two. Do you want to keep it? Hmmmm? No, as I had to move them all myself and couldn’t really afford two tonnes! So the chap came back later and took it away.So I managed back and forth to the log shed with the logs myself ( always had a son here to help) and then dragged the last lot into the garage! The weather was foul.Anyway apart from being a very expensive day I had a nice fire on and a lovely chatter with my friend!Today I’m hoping to be a nice quiet day, rain forecast to ease later so shall walk then. I fell and hurt my hip the other day so I’ll see how far we go. But shall continue with decluttering I think.Have a nice day.Sue I hope you can remember other happy birthdays for your husband. The firsts ( and subsequents) are difficult but hold on to memories of happy times. Take care xxx12
