There may be slight "blackmail" here, but I said I will make mince pies if the decorations are bought down from the loft today as I can see them not coming down at this rate, looking back on it they may not come down if it means me cooking, I see the reverse psychology here. They have just come down, so I will be baking tomorrow.
1 I’ve just received a full refund for the main part of DH’s present, I’m not going to worry now he will have things to open, and we will make up for the main one as and when as what I would like for him very much depends on original old things being listed on the bay.
2 More cleaning this time all the animal bedding washed and fresh on and deep cleaned their areas
3 These are a pleasure they are done, but not by me…DH painted where the curtain rail will go, put up the curtain rail. Also fitted the new TV. DFs inherited TV in our bedroom folds away to the ceiling it was a 27-inch screen size but had so much unused frame around it, it measured 40. So, we have gone for a 40-inch edge to edge and it is exactly the same size as the old one and half the weight.
4 Tidied my clothes area as it had reached chuck it in the draw and it no longer fits in their state, more cleaning achieved and a small amount of de cluttering.
5 Meal planned from the freezer for the weekend.

A slice of fresh sourdough bread with butter. Accompanied by a cup of tea.
Cuddling Tiggy
Crows and wood pigeons in the garden.
Reading the group chat of my wee ones (3 nieces, 1 nephew, ages 10 - 14) and promising to put my thinking cap on for my nephew. He is small for his age and it really upsets him when they call him names at school. Cannot think of rejoinder to help him. Any advice welcome.
Knowing I have been loved.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in!
2) Hens OK.
3) Vaguely started the pre-Christmas decoration clean and tidy. Smaller son wants them up earlier this year. Usually its about the 15-17th here.
4) Did a round of charity shops and had a lovely haul! A new book for mum and dad for Christmas. I had wanted the Delia "How to Cook" series for bigger son for years (though he can cook) and there they were, as new for £6 for the 3. Then a Jack Willis hoodie for bigger son. On to canal town and a Craghoppers jumper for me and some insulated red gloves. They will do nicely for the FA cup match on Sunday (team colours are red and white - look out for us on MOTD).
5) Went through the Christmas presents bought so far and remembered I had bought myself a new bauble.
6) Chips from the van for tea. Spoke in the queue to bigger son's friend's mum then to an older man randomly about the storm and power cuts. He said when he was in the army, 100,000 trees were blown down by a storm in Germany and the army were the only people with generators who could deal with it.
7) Watched I'm a Celebrity.12 -

A fairly quiet day.
1. More bits of decorating done and one set of curtains are up. They look good.
2. Took a lamp apart to clean it properly. Been meaning to do it for ages. It looks much better.
3. Pictures are up in the walls. The house is starting to look finished.
4. Went for a walk and found some mistletoe which came home with me.
5. Went to my parents for a meal and had a lovely evening.14 -
Good news re your BIL DD.
For yesterday,
Busy morning, out to emporium then home, back out to farm shop and chat with friend in car park, home again, bread made and kitchen floor mopped.Changed bed and heavy winter bedspread put on.
Quick lunch and then out to see my horse, a leg stretch around the block then popped her fleece rug on and left her snoozing in stable.
Easy tea of spicy chicken fillets, chips and HM winter slaw.
Watched a bit of tv then read until bedtime.14 -

Was MIA yesterday as noted in the ship's log! Was at the AFVBC xmas lunch! Feast was had by all and I had no sprouts as well! Nice Peroni 0.0 was watered down the hatch and toasts given! Always goof this time of year as I was able to show the Albatross how to run the bizzies and keep the land speed record!
Watched an old movie last nite of the free one from the bank! Blazing Saddles. Doubt they'd make that these days. Vintage cheese was taken, and fiery fizzy waters drunk!
Had the usual for the weekend breakfast this day, banger, best back with toms mushrooms and poached eggs! Very squirt poached eggs! As we had a new butter dish, remember emulsions are for walls not for, we had toasted crumpets as well!
New toy has arrived, free when the wheels got new tyres from the ATS! All set up now. Will set it off with previous toy later! That will keep the Albatross happy doing the dishes and listening to the Jazz station!
Now set to listen to the Mariners on the wireless thing and an eye on the hatters! #UTM #UTH

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cracked on repainting around the top edges of my room... I used some HG spray a few weeks ago (that I have used on mould for YEARS without incident) and it fetched all the colour out of the wall paint where it ran so my room looked like one of those cakes with drips down the sides.
3) Bigger son and his girlfriend appeared and made a wooden reindeer in the shed. They fed the hens and there were 2 eggs - first eggs in months!
4) Did a fair bit of housework, ready for putting the decorations up. Even cleaned the windows outside (necessary after the storm last weekend) and tidied up the gardens. Only the bathroom to do tomorrow.
5) Made broccoli and pasta cheese for tea with added bits of bacon and sliced mushroom. Plenty for us with 2 individual portions in the freezer.
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity.
7) In bed now with 1 hwb and about to watch Casualty.13 -
A late night for me on a ‘school ‘ night!Work night out…left the others enjoying themselves…some of us are up early! Was up and out early this morning. In at 5.45am but home before 7am.Then a very quiet day with nice doggy walks. Was raining for most of day but cleared up about 3pm. Now very cold and heavy frost forecast.Dinner was nice. I was a cheaper date than usual and just drinking water so I had meal paid for ( thank you ) and no drinks bill.
Sat next to one of my very favourite colleagues so had a nice chat with her.Very quick doggy walk under the stars. But brrrrr it’s a cold one!14
