Wind is howling. Small laundry cycle on cheaply. Feeling early brekkie-ish, so after this.....😋😇😁, definitely - and will doubtless re-do hwb.....and at last finish book?
1. Dug up some potatoes. Will do just a few at a time - decided. Hardly acres😁 - they were just Scotsdales 50p cheapie odds and sods and old sprouties. BUT, they are outside &'s kitchen window and grew where & laid them in 3 trenches & dug.
2. Lovely postie bits. Trinity College Carols - CD of &'s fave old cassette, not playable in Meriva, HAS to include 'Adam Laye A-bounden' ❤.https://youtu.be/U2DNJDSq1ZQ
As yet unplayed, still loving another cassette replacement, Patrick Ewen:
Berceuses pour les vieux enfants. https://g.co/kgs/y31Qjn
3. ....but, even better, these!
- so cleverly made with fog-proofing pleats for wearers of glasses👍, by J of &'s returned NZ friends. Worn already!❤. & knew she'd been making and selling them well, all good for their savings pot, with even more rural property move this week, further down Hawkes Bay from old home town. Love the kiwi fabrics, attention to detail and finishing. J is a brilliant designer and crafter of every skill.
4. Professional grade rat poison paid for yesterday to same good fen man for years now, ¼ public price. Backing big farmland means they come in, as seen early yesterday on largest bird table....3 times! 😱😱😱. Someone newish, adjacent-ish, former city dweller, doesn't seem to realise....
& knows ratty's runs from there, will leave luscious munch accordingly when excellent, top-notch D kindly delivers 25kg sack later today.
5. Scotsdales - yet another 12.75kg sack of birdie food. Then across road to rugby training night and luckily spotted 1st XV line-out M. Found ourselves talking books recently, some mutual tastes. Had Adam Sisman's Le Carré biography for him - handover in person was much better. Happy chat - last Saturday, THAT last-minute try, PhD. Leighton Buzzard away Saturday.....

Car tax today. Multiple online failures - 'That registration no. is not recognised. You cannot complete this process online. You must go to a Post Office...' blahblah, as usual and always a palaver. Must be done, so 3 £lumpy spends for & this week.
Admiral - well remember your previous Hartpury 🏉+📷 doings.
Frith, vicar's chicks are enclosed again, since new bird flu warnings. Yours are not?
Safe days everyone - masked and distanced, staying sheltered if you can be.

Fab masks &, we know only too well the location of rat runs but nothing seen lately, perhaps combination of poison put down and our mystery, overnight feline visitor.
For yesterday,
I made the cake, bit late this year but a nice thing thing to do on a dreary old morning and made the house smell wonderful. As always bittersweet memories of DM as a festive cake was the last baking we did together.
Final vet bill arrived, small pleasure that it wasn’t as big as expected but still a £lumpy spend as & puts so eloquently.
Three online sales packaged up and sent off.
Weekly catch up chat with my bf.
Mushroom Wellington for tea with roasted veg.

A good day.
1. Went to London for the day-to-day trains all worked out well.
2. Lovely walk through st James park and then last Buckingham palace. Watched all the birds on the lake.
3. Went to Fortnum and Mason and saw some crackers for £5000 for a box of 6.
4. Saw the Christmas lights and New Bond Street was impressive. Did some window shopping but no prices in the window.
5. Saw a concert by the Kings singers at St Martin in the field church. I enjoyed it.10 -
Oh, our previous lodger, Raffles decimated the local populace!
More Wellingtons!
& The Admiral's wheels are done on the DD!
Hens Checked!
Lasagne!
Is that a dash of 18-year-old single malt?
Bonfires!
Banked!
From the Galley!
Unfortunately the Albatross did not beat my land speed record yesterday! She is making another attempt this morning. Good news is, there have been road works strategically placed to slow her progress! I packed her off with a full butty box of cheese and onion sandwich, sour grapes, an apple, and a biscuit! Always remember an apple a day keeps the quack at bay!
Near kitchen disaster last night doing the mushrooms and poodles! Drained off the poodles and dropped them. Five second rule applied and managed to scoop up before Kitty realised mana was dropping from heaven and served up! Kitty was also fed! Very tasty, then ice cream and a cake bar.
Then watched the Netflix thing, The Starling. Bit different and because it is discount day at surplus store, fiery fizzy water was taken with some cheeses!
Now I has filled my mug with tea and a biscuit has appeared!
Jen sends a buzz!
Keep SafeI work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -

Down to work for a private function…and oh…excellent tips!RTC sprouts in supermarket 😆…they’ll last me weeks it’s only me that likes them.Very quick doggy walk and then up to bed!A busy day.14 -
Quite a busy day, chez Frith.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got to the hens so early that they were still just outside their sleeping quarters, looking embarassed!
3) Smaller son went to college.
4) I went to my new museum accrediting job. Did a lot of listening/learning. 2 cups of tea.
5) Made a chicken, garlic, cheese pasta type thing for tea.
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity.13 -
About 7 or 8 months ago I took an offer with Sky to change our system to SkyQ with 2 boxes, one for each of the rooms downstairs. I don't know how many times I rescheduled the appointment but it was finally installed today. We are only paying an extra 5 or 10 pounds a month and we have Netflix too.
As we don't ever go anywhere I think it's worth the money. Light entertainment sorely needed. Just got to work out how to use it !
Night night

For yesterday,
Slow start as had a rough night so large pot of coffee and toast needed.
Over to see equine girlie, worked her in the school and on the whole she was a good girl, I usually give her a winter break around now but am holding off as not long back into work.
Moved money from survey company into savings.
Found a missing glove under the beech trees, I lost it around 3 weeks ago so goodness knows how I didn’t see it before, or perhaps the fairies just decided to give it back 😉
Mini roast dinner for tea, stuffed chicken thighs with roasted root veg, yum.
