Good evening
Had a very crafty weekend
Made some wintry coloured face masks. My old ones are summery and flowery but also a bit sad looking from the frequent washing.
Made a garland for the fireplace. All greenery from the garden, a few bits of ribbon and some spare baubles. Never done one before but I reasoned it's just a wreath in a straight line, and I can do wreaths. Pleased with the result.
Put up the tree. A real growing one but smaller than last year. Just used the special baubles bought on holidays over the years and it looks lovely.
And the best bit, DGC came to paint a winter scene on our boarded up patio door. We won't want to have it replaced!!
Oh, and really enjoying Strictly this year. I went off it for a while but I like all four semi finalists this year. Still record it though so I can fast forward the waffle!
Happy Sunday evening everyone

Quick pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) Most housework done.
3) Hens more than OK after they decided to simultaneously have a proper explore. Got down there to find one in the holly hedge (about 5m thick) then one right down the lane. I was tired after making 2 long trips carrying them back so I thought I would use the car to get the 3rd one (who had got halfway to the Clee Hill). She did not much like the car, despite the slow drive and the breadcrumbs on the seat for her so left me a little treat across my trousers when I picked her up and got out... Washing machine has just finished!
4) Toad in the hole for tea.
5) Watched the final of I'm a Celebrity.12 -
For Saturday
1. A gorgeous sunrise.
2. Met with friends for a coffee and we put the world to rights. Had a very good time.
3. Chat with my parents on the phone.
4. Good train journey to Kew where we went to the illuminations at Kew gardens with DH. We really enjoyed them. It was also dry when we were there. Much better than when we previously went a few years ago.
5. A meal at pizza express.
For Sunday
1. Moved furniture around and is now in position we want it in for the time being.
2. Started putting up Christmas decorations. The house is starting to look festive.
3. Lunch out with friends. In a pub which we hadn't been to before. Excellent food and service. The chef came out to have a word with my gluten free vegetarian friend to decide what she could have.
4. Chat with a neighbour.
5. Watched the rugby and we managed to hold on for a win.13 -

For yesterday,
Thought it was the middle of night when heard small dog whining for a wee but it was just after 7am, stayed up and had a v welcome cuppa.
Pottering kind of morning, bit of tidying up in the garden and veg prepping listening to DID.
Roast pork for lunch, followed by rice pudding as had milk that needed using up.
Afternoon stroll, mild so no hat & gloves needed, we took tennis balls with us to keep spaniel happy.
Watched Strictly and my favs went through to the final.

a mix of a day so first the downs then the 5 MSE OS good things - one of mum's best friends died, not unexpected, last month in a hospice but still sad when it happens. And DD2 phoned late in tears, reaching out to her big sister as i am soooo cross with her father that my talking to their father would not be a good thing and talking to dd2 has dd2 defending her dad's behaviour. And now for the good things
1) Dr M is indeed back safely from Canada though now in quarantine till his PCR comes through - he has taken up my offer of delivering his Guardian (I can combine it with the first dog walk) - I'm all
2) after church coffee with mum and a friend I've not chatted to for far too long
3) after lunch (Saturday's lunch delayed due to gbf taking me out for lunch Saturday) down to mennies to watch Leicester on my own (due to dr m being in quarantine) - 4 nil though so nearly a stoooopid own goal from Castagne - well done Schmeichel
4) then onto Cathedral - was to have been a welcomer at the University Carol Concert but, due to First Minister announcement Friday, no congregation so choir and readers only plus me, the other 'welcomer turned bouncer' and the bishop's wife - turns out the Principal (who I did let in) is also a Leicester fan - had been 1 - 0 when he'd last looked
5) home then supper (end of lunch - recipe defo made more than 2 portions!) then listening to Classicfm in my lovely front room and reminded of how much I love Bruch's Kol NidreiMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Was out at sea! And we has dot at last!
We don't think DD has overslept do we?
Post office parcels.
Cards delivered!
Van Chips, that Dutch School teacher!
Spare cabin cleaned.
Red for the paella.
Always remember the good times! Mum Admiral liked football but would not wear her goggles, we would never tell her who scored!
LT Snorkers! Good oh!
xmas shopping. Rule of the Admiral. Use the trolley as a battering ram!
Walking Dogs
Chicken and things! Toad in a hole!
Sunrises
And the mennies!
Back in Port!
As I says the other day, we was out for the xmas bash! Finally after twenty years since some radio programme about being in a xmas do and it came to £50 a head, the Admiral and the Albatross smashed the £50 a head barrier in the fiery fizzy pop place. £50.01! Good night was had by all and the decks were rocking! Was the first time we has been in Newark and there was no jam!
Listened to the mariners on the radio! Rhubarb. No further comment!
Saw FiL on Saturday. He is ok!
At the fiery water place, they had tv on. I have not realised how pumped up the low channels have become! There was someone who obviously overdone the blue eye shadow! Do people pay to watch that can trash! Fortunately we has the app on the phone to watch the other channel!
Trundle homewards in the wheels through the rolling countryside. As I drove, the Albatross made no attempt to beat my land speed record! Home via the discount surplus store!
Settled with Kitty who was pleased to see us again and was well lapped on me! We always leave my tee-shirt for the cats as they seem to comfort them while we are away!
Then watched Grimsby, the movie DD! Fiery fizzy waters and cheeses were consumed. The discount surplus store had the vintage Leister Red in as well!
Up at sparrows call this mornign to the gym and I can say that after lockout and things, I is back to me routine! Trimming nicely for the beach ready looks!
Then home for Snorker, best back, mushrooms, toms, and squirty poached egg! Tea was also drinked.
Jen sends her all to the needy!
Keep Safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!12 -
I most certainly didn't oversleep admiral there was a Guardian to be bought and delivered ;-) though hoping he gets his -ve PCR and is allowed out by Wednesday! (Assuming there's any out to be had by then of course...)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
