Hello. A quiet day off. Had to wait for DD2 pcr results which were negative. However I’d a lovely doggy walk.
And a surprise bouquet of flowers delivered. And a scotch pie and beans for late lunch/early tea.
A phone call from my boy ( on the scrounge!)
DD2 a bit better though still poorly. It’s a cold and frosty night!Alarm clock set for early o’clock!11 -
For yesterday,
1 BIL and SIL came over, we went for a long walk at a national trust park.
2 They came back and nattered, and we found we nattered long into the evening.
3 Found a decent takeaway that delivered when we realised the time, no mean feat on a Sunday.
4 I think that’s the first-time people have been over sociably since lockdown, it was nice.
For today
1 Up and sorted out vet prescriptions for the animal meds to last into the new year – hopefully
2 I ordered my nephew a build a model set that it turns out DH wants, I did guess this and bought dh a lorry set to assemble instead but he doesn’t know this.
3 Leftovers from last nights take away were todays lunch.
4 Hunters chicken.
5 Last of the gifts that have to be posted all wrapped and courier sorted.

evening
Sorry for your loss, DD
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Finished This is Us - hoorah
2. Marking marking, getting through it
3. went to a carol service - it was loooooooong and they sang 'oh come all ye faithful' which i find such a dirge. I remember being about 7 years old at school and thinking 'I blinking hate this carol', i've never recovered. still the pleasure is... that i went, I guess - and it ended 🤣
4. out for a meal with an old friend.
5. DD cleaned the bathrooms
and today
1. prepared DS for his interview tomorrow. we're all nervous, but it will be what it will be
2. went out for lunch with friends
3. had sweetcorn fritters with avo and poached egg
4. OH cooked sausage and cauli broc cheese for tea
5. DS and i watched a film.
N'night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
For yesterday,
Picked up a copy of the RT, only time of the year we buy it and it’s expensive but the childhood tradition of marking our fav programmes with initials doesn’t leave me and brings back such happy memories.
Sorted out a bag of books and dropped them off at the exchange in next village.
Its very mild for the time of year and equine girlie had been out minus rug so plenty of grooming to do!
Tea was cold meat with stuffed jacket pots, I added an egg yolk after seeing it done on Wootube, very nice.
Tested little grey cells with UC then enjoyed the festive special of Matt Baker and his family on their farm.

1st post - or might be - from &'s enforced new phone. 5-year old screen shattered last week😖😡. Near invisible shards=bloody &palm. Enforced bite-the-bullet expense at worst possible time of year, 😬🤬, but done.
New phone is way too clever for & and Fenny notspot, which causes new sets of 👽👹💩, mais on verra.
.....and even that was for 2 moments a heartstopper....
All so far written started spinning on screen. & managed to select all, copy, with fingers x'd.....breathe....and OK 👍.
Resume, &.
Now seeing this: 'There was an error performing your request. Please try again.'
It's stuck there, but will carry on anyway.

1. & has been horrendously busy, every day, often till late. Should be finishing Saturday's fundraising cake, pudding and rumtopf for Rugby Club raffle+fundraising as we speak, but all will be done, somehow. All was done, transported for last Saturday's matches, only to learn that all 3 visiting sides had bailed, last minute, and our 2 away teams won, on the road! - so, 25 points for us!
Vl will understand how fantastic those 15 gratis points are for the Peacocks! Also means that those matches, however re-scheduled, swap to being played at home! Tant mieux!🦚🏉. Some snarls that all the Preview writing/subbing/editing into the week's wee small hours, counted for nought.
But such is Life, which we DO still have.
2. Much wonderful listening on R4x and R5x. Loathe Verstappen, père et fils, Horner and weak Masi. Surprised to find &self following F1, ever since reading about a promising young go-karter, name of Lewis Hamilton, way before he came on F1 scene. He is grace and class under pressure. We are in a temporary era - 🙏 - of cheats prospering, this joke 'government' leading the grubby way. Sad albion cricket days, too. Remind yourselves who made schools sell off their playing fields,🤬, to cover up the first swathes of cutting education funding to schools. & was governor in an A⭐ London Girls' Secondary School then...
So much worse now, even before pandemic mismanagement and excuses. Oh yes, expat. life in omicron-rampant land.😡
3. Two excellent Christingle services over last 2 Sundays, both different. We made our own Christingles last Sunday, loads of fun and laughter plus an excellent and political play, written by the young church drama group, 6 - 11, plus 2 real babies and 3 toddlers occasionally joining in - Mary and Joseph, no room at the Inn, immigrants, infections, no money, but bribery possible, cronies etc.
Brilliant stuff, much appreciated and applauded under ancient stone, carvings, beams and over a thousand years of listening, blessing, uplifting, comfort. Plus ça change....
4. Back to more of changing same/same changing in busyness and volunteering terms over last several weeks and this one. Lacking+learning new phone hasn't helped, but have stepped in 3x times around midnight for more collections+deliveries since last week. Yesterday was another last-minute 7hr hamper-sorting stint. Back for other at 14h. It IS rewarding and very necessary. 100 completed. Doing 5+10kgs veges into good CSF calico bags for distribution today. Great to meet many interesting peeps, many wanting to volunteer+contribute their time as a Thankyou, because Town of Gown LP Council received and settled them. So, wonderful to meet and hear K, S, A and others. K farewells wife+child on repatriation flight this weekend,👹, but they go hoping to retrieve their businesses and Bank accounts+savings, still sequestered by Erdoğan. K has an Oxford PhD, wants to work, teach. Case in abeyance 👹 ......
5. Great msg'g with Spain has long counted as one of &'s various, very necessary points of unwinding/winding-down. Marvellous that their 10 weeks of moved out rebuild is pretty much done and they'll be fully back in by Chrimbo. Looks fantastic.
WIll also venture to post - after this is posted😉🤞 - last night's wind-down shot at river, two 8s crews training in the dark, lights astern and aft!

Nope, even Edit won't open for corrections and additions just now, so will try again later, away from here.
Glad you mustered your girls back, Frith.

Wise and copable days to all.

& has to watch autoINcorrect and unpredictable predictive text like a hawk on this phone! It doesn't switch off. &'s having done so then meant that some ghastlies couldn't be corrected by &!!!
That's not how it's supposed to work!
Example - after lovely Saturday night amid insistent 'join us, come here!' from many 1st XVers at Club, watching other matches on screen, avec🍷, & said they didn't need une vieille dame with them😁, gracious as they were being to insist. 'vieille' was altered, in turn, to virile, virgin, vile, olive, viyella, then Nutella....

Nipped out to the surplus store yesterday as the free vouchers had arrived via the ether! £10 off for note! Got the Albatross her fire water and things! I got some tea and fiery fizzy waters! In total £26 off. Rule of the Admiral, better loose in my pocket than their greasy palms!
Bala we came home from the surplus store to see feathers everywhere in the yard! IT has taken lessons from her predecessor and removed a pigeon from the populace! She is off her food! Hence cats have three names!
Had pork pie and bits for dinner after some soup. Then a nice bowl of raspberries!
Watched another bit on the Netflux last night, Red Notice very good and recommended. The uni quiz is recorded! Fiery fizzy waters were taken and some decent cheeses consumed!
