    6. Thoughts turning to having a blitz clearance of clothes - currently not frightening but may be if I start.

Sending “wellness vibes” to everyone who needs or wants them.

    Thanks for ‘listening’
    Mrs SD:)

    Thoughts turned away from blitzing!

    Friday’s pleasures

    1. No rain just another bright if windy day
    2. Caught up on sleep
    3. Support your local milkman - not very mse except it means I don’t have to leave the house so ultimately very mse as no temptation to spend.
    4. DH is sorting dinner - “Leftover” XMas dinner from the freezer. But thought I would help out with ‘fried in butter’ (nod to BoP!) sliced onions, sprouts, carrots & bacon with a glug of white wine.
    5. Yum yum

Tomorrow need to venture out to P.O. - parcels to Germany & France. Then I really must start Kondoing

See you all tomorrow. Keep well & warm.

    Mrs SD :)

    Pleasures for today (Friday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Hens well and I cleaned out their sleeping quarters. Snow mostly gone (again).

    3) Tuna and cheese on toast for lunch then hm butternut squash curry plus naan for tea.

    4) Smaller son went to his father's (should have been there since Christmas Day) and they will both be home tomorrow. Since he left I have: put Christmas tree back outside, put decorations away (apart from lights), done washing up, washing away, watered and cleaned orchids, dusted the living room, hoovered and steamed floors downstairs, tidied up generally etc.

    5) Have been watching television from the sofa this evening with 1hwb.

    6) Planning a short break next year. Can't decide on York with all it has to offer, or Manchester where smaller son can go to the Man Utd ground.
  • 1 DH and I went back to the house and started, we did one room, there were a few tears it must be expected it was my family home and it bought back memories as the place was never really properly cleared when my mum passed, but all is well, neighbours came around chatted about memories I’d never heard of, and will be coming along to the funeral and wake. And his best mate called in, tearful and I’m glad I’m not the only one.

2 Back home at 7 and created a rapid 1 pot turkey leftover soup, with desert of a box of mint choc’s yes the entire box, er between 2.

3 I’ve just written out various notes to post, and have more calls to make, I tracked down a number for some family I remember holidaying with in his paperwork, one call later, 30 mins reminiscing and an accepted invite that they will travel down, and we connected on email, love them to bits.

4 Setting up some bits and pieces in our house from DF’s place, DH has made them all work and fit in beautifully, things that are so vintage they are modern again now.

    5 7 candles flickering away.

    1. Walked round a local town. Window shopping and only brought shoelaces for DH as he had managed to break one of his so a necessary spend.

    2. Seeing snow on the mountains but none where we are.

    3. Enjoying a walk along the beach. Windy but not too cold.

    4. Quiet evening reading, chatting and having a glass of wine or two. Did manage to have some cheese.

    5. A beautiful sunrise.

    1) walked dd2 to work then headed for library which I have rejoined
    2) found the Tomalin bio of dickens - i’ve Never got on with dickens but haven’t actually tried since school, so 2018 I will be trying again with a friend. We will be reading them all in order
    3) home in time to walk dogs in park. Looking forward to the longer nights. Picked up 4 items of rubbish and put in bins (aiming to do 3 each visit)
    4) candles lit, wrapped in lovely new blanket, finished la belle sauvage. Not as good as I remember the northern lights trilogy, but a page turner nonetheless
    5) poor mrpiano caught in winter delays to Glasgow. Pleased to say he arrived home safely at 5:16 this morning (also pleased to say I only know cos he posted it on Facebook - I slept through as did my ‘guard dogs’

Morning all - another day, yet more marking. THis post is to inspire me to DO the marking...

DD - why mustn't you eat pears?
Good luck with the Kondoing Mrs SD - i had just about finished mine when DD arrived home with a van full of her uni stuff after graduation

Pleasures for the last couple of days

    1. Despite the above I have kind of found my marking MOJO (what does that even mean???). And hope it is all done before the deadline without too much panic
    2. Family tea out at the local pub last night.
    3. watching some episodes of The Crown - I think i have nearly finished season 1
    4. OH and I watched The Dallas Buyers Club the other night - was good
    5. OH did the ironing whilst watching the above :T (I had cleaned the bathrooms earlier that day)
    6. DD and I went to see The Greatest Showman at the cinema yesterday - wow! it was AHMAYZING!!! I want to go again
    7. Yesterday would have been dad's 86th birthday - he is certainly throwing all the firsts at us at once.... (thinking of you, PK). The pleasure is that i was contemplative but did not struggle as much as i did on Christmas Day

Everyone out today - DD is at work, she had an interview for a permanent position two days ago and is hopeful. OH and DS have gone to the football. I am (allegedly) marking, throwing a hoover round the place, and doing a bit of shopping. HOping for another session on The Crown. Must get 10 assignments marked first....
I wanna be in the room where it happens

DD what a lot you have done!

    1. Not done anything on today’s list but not beating myself up - I can do it later. (The things on the list not beat myself up. Isn’t English grammar a minefield!)
    2. Have taken sausages & bacon out of freezer - looking forward to using up the last of the XMas veggies & using a couple of bits out of the Larder.
    3. Yippee - went to put rubbish in wheelie bin & it was at the roadside - EMPTIED as was the Recycling Bin.
    4. Washing up done & Kitchen surfaces clear ready for a baking session.
    5. Stale sm bread & focaccia soaked in hot water & put in the garden for my feathered friends.
    6. Have enjoyed reading the new thread - New Year, New Plans and Hopes. I will have a think and then join in later today.
    7. Just sitting with a cup of tea and psyching myself up for the rest of the day.
    8. Reading all your inspirational posts and realising that there are strong wonderful people who regardless of their own problems still offer comfort to others. THANK YOU ALL.

Positive vibes being sent into the ether.

  • 1) Have just cleared the ironing mountain, sad news??? there is a wash on in the machine!

    2) We're both feeling a bit brighter today, having been decidedly under the weather since we got home on Wednesday.

    3) Trip to the sales yesterday resulted in the new tops I needed (regatta jumpers at half price too), a pair of shoes for the Zebra child and two tops for the Oreo child.

    4) In anticipation, we are just off to the garden centre to have coffee and look in their sale for some reduced Christmas tree lights for next year. Also a look at their sale which is usually good and a pop into the butchery to see if there are worthwhile reductions.

    5) It's warmer today and being outdoors is no longer a 'only as long as you can stand it' experience, 12 degrees here today, lovely!

    Good Afternoon,

    Yesterday

    1. Went shopping in town. Returned a present that didn’ t work and collected a click and collect. Loyalty card coffee and a few rtc Xmas decos. The last of the big spenders!

    2. The bottom of one of the washing baskets has been achieved!

    3. DD has booked a trip to Peru to meet a friend who is on a round the world trip. Will give her a focus, other than ex boyfriend.

    4. DD best friend came over for tea. She brought Tiramisu. We had Prosecco and steak and chips.

    5. Watching episodes of the Feud and the Crown.

Taxi driving DD around this morning. managed to use the last of my £4 wys £50 and lots of coupons in Mr T in between trips.

Enjoy the rest of your day. :)

mrs LW what is this 12o you talk of? Here it would be 1-2 :)

A day of going as far as the recycling bins in my driveway!

Was still in my jammies at 1pm which is unheard of but had washed and washed and ironed and swept and tidied and pottered.

    Chat with sister on phone.

Watched a few dramas on catch up as I pottered.

Tea was an eclectic mix from the freezer.

Had my first energy bill since I've been back. Still in credit yet they want to increase bill by £25 a month...er, no thank you! Sorted!

Waiting on my first online shop from s@insburys. Not a local shop but was swayed by a £15 off first shop voucher. Got lots and lots for my money, I need to start and be more canny with my spending. At the moment I'm just spending and not earning. A new job is in my to do list.
