    Quick pleasures for today (Thursday)

    1) A lie in. Smaller son and I become nocturnal quickly. Bigger son doesn't, but he wasn't here.

    2) Porridge for breakfast with some for the hens.

    3) Survived a drive out to Broadway Tower to see my school friend. Temporary traffic lights, queues out of Worcester, floods outside Pershore, snow on Fish Hill - took nearly 2 hours to get there. Was nice to have a cup of tea in the caf! and look at the views in the snow.

    4) KFC for tea on the way home, after we'd waited for the police to throw some youths out.

    5) Enjoyed watching the Undateables.

    Morning All,

Up early, after an emotional late night. DD and long distance BF broke up. :( We are all sad. I am also  DH has deleted the young man’s number in case I give him a piece of my mind!

    1. Breakfast at IKEA.

    2. Went back to cafe for coffee with young friends, when they texted to say they had seen our car in the car park! What a coincidence!

    3. Sale bargain, Radley backpack arrived. Used MiL present money towards it. :o

    4. Got bargains........next years Xmas wrapping paper in Mr T and big bag of dog food half price in Mr A.

    5. Panto at theatre down towards Frith ‘s way. Very traditional. A good night, enjoyed by all!

Then home to the news of DD and BF :(

She is off to visit a friend from Uni today. Thank goodness for a close circle of friends.

    Have a lovely day :)

Mine for a couple of days.
    Wednesday
    1. Had to work. Journey was very quick as roads were so quiet. Also the traffic lights in the village weren't working which always seems to improve traffic flow.

    2. Friend, who stayed for Christmas, made it home to Wales ok with no delays which is unusual.

    3. Work infuriated me as no one else wanted to work. I ended up seeing more than half of the patients. There were 4 people meant to be doing the work. This happens regularly. Everyone was ready to leave very early including the boss so they all had to wait for me to finish off. Someone else will have to do the admin task i was meant to do and didn't have time for!!

    4. Leftovers for tea. Froze some ham to use at a later date. Have made a considerable dent in the leftovers.

    5. DS2 had tidied his bedroom. His carpet is blue! He even put the washing machine on and dusted and hoovered.

    Thursday
    1. On holiday in France again at our apartment. Relaxing.

    2. Journey was good and we flew BA. It was the cheapest flight when booked in February. DH was asked when we were sitting on the plane to show his passport to the check in girl who had come into the plane. They obviously hadn't processed it correctly.

    3. Had to wait for a long time at Heathrow so had late breakfast at Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The bill took a long time to come about 20 minutes despite asking for it on 3 occasions. Mentioned it the the manager who halved the price of the meal. Very unexpected.

    4. Had some fish at a local restaurant. It was very good and was washed down with some wine. DH had duck which he said was excellent.

    5. Cup of French espresso.

    Thursday pleasures,

Into horsey town, visited opticians and they fixed small problem with glasses, Capt S finally made appointment for eye test, has been needed for reading for quite a while.

Numerous reductions in W8rose inc v cheap f&v.

Wrapped up and went to see Lulu, she inhaled the parsnips I took her and then munched happily on hay whilst I tried to de-mud her.

Made a cup of coffee for tank driver who had arrived to empty septic, it was first he had been offered all day and it was nearly 4pm, poor soul looked frozen.

Another one who enjoyed turkey curry, avec lots of cheap veg!

    1. Picnicked with KW and DD yesterday :)

    2. Bought a few things in the sales, half price naturally!

    3. Bumped into one of KW's bosses whilst enjoying a lovely drink and cake using my voucher in the JLewis caf!.

    4. KW and I bought some much needed kitchen knives and a big casserole saucepan thing, and no candles! in Ikea.

    5. He treated us to a Chinese takeaway, nomnom. We share a veggie meal for one and add veggie spring rolls, perfect amount!

    6. DD and I took KW for a swim at our lovely pool.

    7. Daydreaming about a holiday to Ireland next summer....not sure where to go, but really want to explore more than just Dublin city centre, which is all I've done before.

    8. Taking DD to the cinema this afternoon, using credit balance on my credit card to pay for it, and taking our own snacks and drinks, naturally!

Lainey, your 2 and 5 strongly featured in &'s lost post.

    1. Bags of different variety potatoes, parsnips, carrots, blueberries, cranberries, oranges, other citrus, were all rtc 10p!!! Was that when you were there? Parsnips for vicar's horse from & aussi. Loads of excess food everything. Couldn't help but think of ridiculous conspicuous consumption.
& so often buys to hand on, but returned it all to correct places:-), when suddenly meeting
    recipient person.

    2. Same rtc plummets on so much else, inc. more bonkers Heston moments, alive 'til June 2019. One huge hidden orange pudding, chocs, crackers, various highly acceptable gifty bits.

    3. Mob. wouldn't recharge, so necessary visit to MrT. Sorted by good M.

    4. Meriva re-taxed online. Car breakdown cover ditto, using Martin's new CBC broker tool. Recommended. Last year's RAC cover via MrT vouchers now silly and not for yurp, which & needs. Well, could have been done for a separate £92....non merci.

    5. Ferry finally bkd by phone. & mentioned that this seems standard with DFDS now, at which point Natalia cut further £s from fare. Conf. ems still not received, but have bkg ref.no. which will suffice, N assured &.
    #
Another small book bully from &, ideal for current weather - Nina George's 'The Little Paris Bookshop'.
Could well proceed to Elizabeth Bard's 'Lunch in Paris', also in &'s bed bookheap.
    #
    6. &'s Enzed province ros! wine arrived. Taking some, plus emporium Cowrie Bay red, also Hawkes Bay, to bottom of France on coals>Newcastle principle. &'s oldest nthn hemi friend will imbibe v. easily.

We hit emporium around 10.30 & when it was reasonably busy but not heaving, lots of printed out 10p signs on most of veg but the baskets were piled high. We also commented on potential waste, let's hope not by the end of day :(

    For today :
I have my room back! I have my house back until Tuesday at least :)

Lovely but absolutely freezing and bitter wind of a dog walk with Mr Dog and his ladies ...and a new lady friend met. A beautiful spaniel.

Chat with friend when I got in.

Nipped to Tesco. Did recycling and bought just what I went in for ( well and a packet of crisps!)

    Continued to un-decorate.

Table and bench returned to friend. Grateful for the loan of it. Grateful it's now out the way.

Going for a bath shortly then jim jams on !

    Rampant Recycler
    24 hour very rapid collection:
    1. Visit from friend who collected her Moonpig personalised birthday card 2 days late and was thrilled with it.

    2. We shared smoked salmon and cream cheese, which had been destined for her birthday buffet that I didn't get to attend.

    3. Stollen, yum, an expensive for A!di one.

    4. Catch up with DSis, safely back in 9 degree Centigrade Cardiff, from zero degree Inverness.

5 The park opposite the house looks like Narnia in the snow, and I don't have to be out in it.

    6. Needed to make some disability related purchases online, and dang me, they were substantially reduced in the January sale. Bonus!

    7. Your pleasures, thank you.
