Cold alcoholic. That would be bourbon, honey and a dash of lemon!
VL should try it as well!
DD Saw a Beatle at Radio City!
Back Massage!
Ship's Log!
Not suitable for & but watched the David Chapelle Closer thing on the Netflix last night. Very good as usual. Fiery fizzy waters and cheese was taken. Recommended! As with the media hype here about petrol and tankers bound for Plymouth on the unsocial media, it is not what you expected! Did like his special with David Letterman as well!
Had the final trough of the chicken last night. Chow Mein with sliced peppers and mushrooms, served with sticky rice, not from the Ben shelf!
Watched the T20 cricket! Very good, but I am afraid Scotland were poor!

Jen sends a buzz!30-60 Part 5!
Only 8 to go?
Married the Albatross! Well chuffed on honeymoon as we went on a train to York and saw some more!
Travelled further, to Wales but took the ticket out and ended up in Riyadh! Still playing with big toys though and listening to the short wave as well!
Then the day in August were things got a bit hot, but luckily the embassy was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! No change there since the previous things about the Falklands! All was over though by the February next year!
Mid you the month before, the landing in Baghdad was a bit of a twist, but that Chinese meal was fantastic!
Beach was nice but the tide was out!
Film: Top Gun
Song: It's the End of the World as We Know it (And I Feel Fine)
Radio: The crackle of the shortwave trying to get the Grimsby score on a Saturday evening!
TV: David Platt scoring for England against Belgium on Saudi 2 TV! We were due to get to the airport for a trip home and any later we would have been setting a land speed record to get there!
As for today's song, was a bit of an anthem of kind then, remember the Tee Shirt place in the Suq in Al Kharj playing it as well, we gave him a copy! After the events, went back to see him and he thanked us for the trade we gave him, the Yanks had cleaned him out of the fake Lacoste's! Other fakes were available, you name it, they put a badge on it!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!9 -
Good afternoon
Lainey - so pleased a solution has been found to horsie's poorly foot. Hope she soon picks up.
Yesterday - birthday tea for DGD. Officially a teenager! So good to see her back to being her lovely bubbly self. A major pleasure.
An annual autumnal pleasure. An Acer in our garden is the most amazing colour. Honestly, it glows the most vivid red and I love it.
Lots of lovely messages and cards for my birthday, and very thoughtful gifts. I am so lucky.
Still filling in forms for our holiday! But I'm sure it will all be worth it.
Happy autumn day everyone10 -
Hope you're feeling better villagelife
many happy returns happycas
Another mad day at work, taking a break before going back to an application which needs to be in by 2nd Nov - i haven't been out at all today (!) so will have to work hard at the 5
1) cake for breakfast, and why not
2) dd2 home (very briefly) with friend - i showed them my latest gizmo which chops up veg by pulling on a handle - very eco, very efficient, very compact, very easy to clean
3) a fun after work drink online with the boss and 2 other colleagues - i seem to have drunk my way through a lot of cans of ginger ale! (and boss very understanding that application not as far through as i'd hoped)
4) then a lovely chat with my mum on the phone
5) and a yummy bowl of Moroccan lamb stew with coleslaw made by dd2 and her friend with the gizmo
and now to put another 2 hours in on the application then an episode of outlaws - have most of tomorrow clear to continue and invitation to the pub after work
Film: Dune - amazing music https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/22/movies/hans-zimmer-dune.html
Song: It's the End of the World as We Know it (And I Feel Fine) (yeah i'll go with that admiral
Radio: Lark Ascending on classicfm
TV: hmmm not much time for TV at the mo though did enjoy the 2nd half of Liverpool game yesterday - we have Preston on Saturday

Bedtime!Lovely chat with DD1 this morning. They’ve just came out of lockdown. A storm was a-happening as we were talking so much oooh lightning or ooooh thunder. Then had to drop DD2 off for an appointment so I ended up spending money as I went round the big supermarket, though did get the dog food bated I use for half price. So bought four bags! I think it’s being discontinued or rebranded, whatever he’ll eat it!Picked her up and we went for breakfast. Just had a roll and sliced sausage ( if you know you know!) booked afternoon tea for friends in December whilst I was there, then home.Doggy walk. Mainly dry.Pottered around. Hoovered, washed floors.Made tablet, traditionally made for Halloween. ( Scottish sweet)Made a sausage pasta for tea
then we went a-visiting with our tablet. Had nice chats as we dropped it off.
Then home and had to wash all the tablet making dishes!Stunning sunset and then oooft it was dark.8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Took smaller son out for some chips, which we ate in the car.
4) Booked train tickets for Manchester. booked training course for a fortnight's time, sorted birthday cards for the next few months.
5) Cooked some of the pears my brother brought up for me and made caramel sauce to go with them.
6) Museum I might be working for emailed. They said I could do a zoom call with 2 of them, or about 8 of them. Guess which I shall choose! I think they will probably have to look elsewhere. A mentor is really there to look over paperwork but they seem to want help with fundraising (?) and want to know what ideas I have for them. I'm not really there to have ideas. I will get back to them but I think they are looking for more than a mentor.
7) I know I've been ill (3 weeks now!) but realised I have been doing the bare minimum for quite a while. Eye test and hearing problem being looked at next week, just in case either of those are contributing to constantly feeling dizzy and sick. Booked an appointment (you still have to do that) for smaller son at the barber on Monday. AND... in news that would astonish anyone who knows me, I have phoned about going to art lessons in the next nearest village hall. I double checked that you don't need to know anything (I didn't even take it for GCSE) and they will supply everything but said, "Bring your pencils". Obviously, I will now need to buy some pencils...
Builders are coming to repoint things tomorrow (allegedly).9 -
Yesterday
1 Spent a lovely day with the inlaws, the traffic was a bit mean getting there.
2 It was nice conversation that flowed well.
3 Helped them with various paperwork online, wow it was complex how they expect an older generation to deal with it I don’t know.
4 They fed and watered us.
5 We took an animal with us who was a star, they adore her and she adds a bit of life in.
Today
1 Whole house cleaned
2 Clean bedding for us and we’ve just had a bath so that clean sheet feeling.
3 DH has started work repairing part of the roof but will hold off now for the weather.
4 I started packing up the lounge into boxes to be able to move bits to get to the last wall to paint, and ordered some carpet samples for the stairs.
5 Ordered in.

Hey Mehefin, good to see you and hear that your mares are all ok.
For yesterday,
Out early to a well known hardware store for some duct tape, funny look from assistant behind counter made me smile.
Over to yard and changed poultice, yucky stuff already coming out. My girlie seems a lot brighter.
Home via equine store for some more supplies.
Lunch and then out again for a few bits of F&V, it was a wonderfully mild afternoon with plenty of sunshine so enjoyed a cuppa in the garden when I got home.
Tea was toad in the hole with roasted root veg.
