Hello. Hiding through the back from trick or treaters! Lights off and blinds down but log burner on and candles lit so it’s all nice and cosy.
Its been a very wet day here though dry at the moment.
Went out for a cheese scone this morning. Went to buy a garland for my staircase and asked if I could leave it to the side whilst I went outside ( garden centre) . Was quite abruptly and rudely told no. I could take a trolley. I pointed out it was lashing with rain and was still rudely told no …DD2 stood inside and I went outside they didn’t have what I was after plant wise, came back in and put the garland back! Thought you ain’t getting my money! So that was money saving 😆
However then went to TK Max and spent more money ( which wasn’t money saving) but that’s the dogs Christmas present bought! And a candle that smells like my husband! Then had to dash into supermarket ( each time getting soaked) for stuff for mum. Drove round there and tidied up ( again. Sigh)
Then home. Again. Hello dog get your lead we are going to get soaked ! And we did! But he needed walked and rain wasn’t getting any lighter so off we went! Still nice though with colours of leaves on trees.Home and out of wet jeans and into jammie bottoms. Friend came to the door with a pile of books for me…are you okay? Yes…oh no…it’s just I got soaked!Fire on. Candles lit. Watched a bit of a film.Chatted to son on phone for a whole 28 minutes. Not going to put any more logs on fire so shall wait till it dies down then head to bed ( after setting my alarm clock! Pah! ) And shall do quick doggy walk once the tricksters slow down!11 -
1-5 my wonderful surgery ,just picked up more antibiotics,
Results not back from Monday but gp (same one as DH had) has decided it is unfair to leave me suffering over weekend ,so prescribed and if wrong will do another prescription!
.Not ideal but sample sent on Monday but local hospital overloaded and running behind.
I haven’t had a good week so fingers crossed .
hope you are all well11 -
Sending get well soon wishes SSue, hope the AB’s kick in soon x11

Lainey so glad your horse is improving.
SSue, I hope the antibiotics help over the weekend.
1 Dropped DH off to physio where he’s been signed off, the physio was so happy far exceeded and full use, he said you would be amazed how many people get an injury and just give up trying!
2 Left to my own devices I rescued a little fern from B and Q, while waiting I practiced signing.
3 Came home and batch cooked up a turkey mince, made stuffed peppers served with more veg.
4 2 more lounge boxes packed up, I’ve got about 2 more to do smaller boxes of very fragile things.

Get well soon, SSue.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A rather short sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Porridge and pears for breakfast, tuna sandwich for lunch, chips from the van for tea.
4) Sainsburys order arrived.
5) Bigger son has just appeared! This means a cooked breakfast in the morning.
Pleasures OK but my afternoon was very surreal. A builder came round a fortnight ago to look at repointing where we took the porch down. Seemed OK, said sensible things, left a few tools in my shed. Last week he got in touch with me on FB and said a few weird things about I had criticised his work (?) to his colleague but then he backtracked and apologised several times.
Today he appeared and I noticed he was dropped off by a lady with a child in the car. It is half term, so I thought perhaps they were going to go on to somewhere interesting. He had no tools with him and no ladder but there were his few tools in my shed and he did bring sand and cement.
I had managed to sort out about 16 Victorian bricks to match the rest of the house. I thought 20 would have been better as there were a few broken bricks to chop out. I had discussed that job plus generally repointing and removing some flashing from where the old porch used to be attached to the house and moving the outside light higher up so bigger son stops walking into it.
I'm no expert of drugs as they've never interested me so I'm not sure what he had taken. I didn't realise at first as I had to shut the door, as he was working around it.
No old paint was removed. The flashing is still stuck to the house. He had to borrow a chair from me as he had no ladder so I ended up having to wash his footprints and mortar off my chair. He hasn't put the light higher up the wall. I let all this go as I just wanted him gone in the end.
He has changed about 4 bricks and basically daubed mortar around here and there. I could have done that myself.
When he was leaving, I was told a tale at great length and at top speed about how he lost his driving licence (twice), then he asked the best way to get back to Wolverhampton and what time was the next bus! Well, the next bus will be on Monday morning and it certainly doesn't go within 20 miles of Wolverhampton. What taxi company did I use? I've never used one...
He went away in the end and I tidied up all the mess and mortar which was up the door and windows and all over the patio.
After that I went to get chips from the van and he was hiding behind it! I knew because he had left his bucket of tools on the verge. He popped out and told me there were no buses and the taxi company wouldn't come out this far to pick him up (which I could have guessed). Thank goodness another neighbour came out to get chips at the same time so I started talking to her and went back to my house, leaving him on the verge. Perhaps he is there still.

Good morning. Bit grey here.
Ampersand - if there was a forum badge for perseverance, you would have several! It's nearly as frustrating here knowing we've missed an interesting post!
S Sue - hope the antibiotics work their magic soon
Frith - that all sounds very odd, and a little unnerving. Glad you were not alone last night.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with DGC. I'd sorted out some things they never play with to see if we could get rid of them ( the toys, not the children!) But predictably they played with them all afternoon and all must be kept.
They had to leave at 4 so DGD ( 13 going on 30) could go to do her make up with her friend for the Halloween party. As they were dressing up as ghosts under sheets it seemed a bit pointless but, hey, whatever makes her happy!
Finally admitted defeat with the Spanish entry form and called on DS to sort it out. Was quite heartened that although he is much more IT savvy than us ( most people are!) it took him quite a while to work it out. But he managed. Phew!
Happy Saturday everyone9 -
Blimey Frith, best rid of that one!
For yesterday,
Beautiful sunrise behind the beech trees.Over to see my pony and change her poultice, more gunk coming out so stood her foot in a Epsom salt bath for a couple of minutes as well. Made me smile and think of my Dad & Grandpa who would have done such things too.
Made bread, malted seed and spelt, and while it was on its first prove I hoovered the house.
Treat of fish & chips takeaway for tea.
Used a new aromatherapy oil blend in my burner, lemongrass, niaouli and thyme, lovely.10
