Suffolksue hope antibiotics are working.
Frith how weird.
1. A dog walk. I walked a neighbours dog. I really enjoyed it even in the rain. I did find some chestnuts too.
2. Chat with a neighbour who I hadn't spoken to for a while.
3. I managed to cut the grass in the sun. May be last cut of the year as ground may be too waterlogged soon. I enjoyed it listening to as podcast too.
4. Phone my parents and my Mum was about to go out so had a long chat with my Dad.
5. New recipe of sausage casserole which was tasty and enough to freeze a few portions too.
6. Cold is improving.10 -
Whoops, RL at it again.LaineyT - the seasonal cold this year is a complete monster. One sis is on antibiotics, four colleagues all working from home have it & all were chivvied through PCRs 'to make sure'. Phew abscess - oWotaRelief! Why on earth would duct tape trigger a funny look? Someone has weird assumptions? Love Epsom salt bath - very right & reassuring.Admiral - go on, explain to this landlubber what a fiery fizzy water is as I get as far as ginger beer & then stop? Riyadh & short wave, (& no Burj as yet!) Pneumonia is worrying.mhagster - truly the rain is going for biblical. Back massage ooch but needful. Hurrah daughters & Haggis & much admire your version of guising where tablet delivered to chosen doorsteps! A "candle that smells like my husband" - oh my! then repeated soakings for reasons, eeep.suzybloo - welcome back!ampersand - hurrah notspot had time off & yes floating fragments definitely a thing. Oh, Maximus indeed.Frith - isn't it wonderful to be back on 4 real wheels & not 3 & a tin plate?! Daft museum is unworthy of you. Not sure if bigger son will cook or require a cooked breakfast. Yon builder sounds most unreliable & uncomfortable to have around.DundeeDoll - Faure then JMJarre?! Argh application form - much sympathy! What is the name of this remarkable device that near-effortlessly converts veg to delices?villagelife - blinking cold, but happy Friday walks! Glad cold releasing its grip even if one claw at a time. Sausage casserole sounds like it should help with healing.Happycas - red acer is such a glorious colour! Oh gosh toys that now must be kept! Some forms are entrance tests in disguise...Purple kitten - your lucky in-laws - to get paperwork sorted as they croon to animal (sure some forms are designed for smartphone users & not those with accessibility issues!) Physio pleased? "far exceeded and full use" - that's their version of three big gold stars, well done DH for sticking at it!mehfin - welcome!SuffolkSue - hurrah your surgery (lovely people) & may these antibiotics get you better soon.OS pleasures recentlyAs a result of the tidyings, I have little glass angels for the tree this year! Now to ponder where did I stash the artificial green tree as clear glass on silver is a rather subtle look. Pleasure in the anticipation... Plus we have had an artificial green tree in years past so More Tidyings may be rewarding.“Your packet of white powder has arrived!” The oxcalic acid is well wrapped but does look like a crime show prop. Does a lovely job on rusty metal though, as I admire a restored saw.Himself is carefully eviscerating a tent for its fabric & zips. Some has been sent to be hemmed for another use (this was a tent 'bought for the children' for a fiver) and now metres of zip & the lurid orange fabric are being delicately separated… the label saying “Keep Exits Clear” is being hoarded for reuse.Ah, comedians in the woods. Much as I revere David Mitchell, we’re watching to identify the kit “ooh, silky big boy” of a saw etc.Oh good heavens. The ongoing saga of getting an 80+ y.o. to a conference in Moscow has begun to slide into the frankly ridiculous. The idea itself. The visa saga. The fuss over what repairs are need for a wheelchair lest mum need one in his absence. [If you have a wheelchair, apparently most bike shops can do the basic maintenance.] The when do you need what sort of test. The visit into town to find the private test clinic. The visit to London to hand over the passport. So I unleashed some of my exasperation rewording “one man went to mow” & my sisters are giggling over it.Begun to prep Lego from tidyings for Ebay & realising I am not Sufficiently Geek (there are many realms, I only cover a few). There are websites that could tell me exactly when such a keyring was made - I bought it a long time ago, squirrelled it, Moved & am now trying to identify it. One packet I gently sneered at turns out to be raving collectable but I shall price it at dumb housewife & let the genuine enthusiasts run the price up.Middleson appears to have finished his DofE Gold (bar the signatures!) & I am now trying not to ask who he’ll take with him to London & if we can please all go for a family photo even if only one of us gets to see him get the official nod. That he’s spent two hours raking a roundabout in the wet on a Sunday anyway, signatures or not, makes me proud of him.Husband told to trim mother’s toenail & packed the sanding gear… I have to say the sound effects are terrifying, as the thing that goes ‘clunk’ is possibly farrier grade, and Himself’s grunts of effort don’t detract any either…Watching electric racing & husband blinking, there’s no huge adult driving these little remote control cars!Awww, it’s distressing but it is so funny when a grandparent hands a device to a grandson “find aunt’s phone number” & lad looks back baffled, “this is the TV remote”…Finished “the foundling” (Georgette Heyer) - delightful! & dived into Gibson’s the peripheral for a change (roaring good fun as dystopian futures go) & seems there’s a further novel written.Husband has sorted someone to repoint the gable end, which wipes my savings flat but weatherproofs that side of house on three levels. To my bewildered amazement & slight shame Middleson has dumped two thirds of the cost into the house account from his deposit fund! [We’ll be on beans on toast intermittently so we can repay that but he doesn’t know that.]Himself turns out to have an eye for cricket ephemera, in part due to the Uni sun screens being mounted on Bren carrier road wheels. How he resisted some Peko models of a pavilion & pitch accessories I’m not wholly sure but we’ve not a layout at the minute.“One man has now gone, has now gone to Moscow” - never try to stop an 80-something retired physicist. He’s a stubborn old coot (even went to get his visa in person & their camera made him look like a mythical Christmas figure With Views) & currently in Moscow. Us daughters zoomed with mum, who appears to not quite have realised she can do whatever she blinking pleases for a few days.Wrapping in newborn nappy, vetwrap & duct tape. My imagination outpaces the fleetest racehorse. All good wishes for healing!Teams meeting on menopause & seems only women & 2 species of whales go through it. Some of the comments were delightful, not least the chap who asked if credit card retail therapy was a genuine thing or was he being had for a mug. He was reassured & praised & I think his wife & female staff are in a much better position than some.Home made pizza! Thick, chewy, gorgeous.I shoved lemon pips in wet paper towel in a ziploc & cradled the cold wet pack under my t shirt for a few days whilst sat in my ‘office’. No signs of germination so I foreswore that chilling pastime & just bundled the ziploc in a fleece blanket. Today, peeking there are two little (1cm) shoots! Now how on Earth to coax them through the long cold dark winter?!Whacko ingredients include green bacon & button onions - mum’s hitting the Robert Carrier cards to feed son-in-law & grandson. Seems green bacon is vintage-speak for streaky & button onions are English shallots. (Sis hissing at this gastronomic code, denouncing it as class conscious; me, I just look forward to tasting!)Up & doing to get son away to platelet donation. Am so proud of him, I overlook the drive into the heart of Manchester & him in covid secure donation suite while me masked in car in carpark. Must check he has eaten a hearty breakfast & taken the multivite so recipient gets the benefit.Right, health strength love & courage to all as have need, along with abundant absorbent handkerchiefs & really effective wet weather tackle. Onwards!11

another 20 miles of coast path walked, around Tenby this time. To close a gap. over 600 miles now completed.

Was out with the Albatross last eve and had steak and chips, together with Wobbleade Ms DfV! Only a rump but nice for the Admiral! Cheeses were not eaten!
Up at the sparrows, had my usual breakfast of banger, best back, baked beans, mushrooms and fried tates. Squirty poached egg on toast as well! Tea was drunk!
Only six days to go and I had to pay for my heart tablets!
Booked the optician!
Now doing my mug of tea and watching the cricket!40-60 Part 7
Got off the beach and did loads. Even got my certificates at last. Was at the uni when the request to have a band in for xmas was again refused, as the trouble they had back in 1978 with the band I saw back then. Had a quiet chuckle that that year of 78 had been so good and the reverberations were still bounding of refectory walls those years later! See, I did like educationalists!!!
Sold house and packed up and me and the Albatross moved! Still playing with big toys though!
Managed to not end up in hospital that time! More soon!

If you don’t try you will never know DD.
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in followed by boiled eggs with marmite soldiers.
Over to see girlie, she is obviously feeling a lot better as was a little so & so to get the poultice on, one lot of vetrap got trashed in the process but it was finally in place. She then said sorry, I had shouted at her, and blew kisses in my face.
Lunch was cheese & crackers then I pottered outside for a hour or so, it was very mild at 16 degrees so soaked up the sun.
Listened to the footie with a pot of tea and a rock cake, we won.
Tea was chicken fajitas, yum, lots of food pleasure as my cough is finally on its way out and my appetite is coming back. We also played a few games of Yahtzee then watched a couple of episodes of Young Sheldon.
