5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

I’ve not posted for a few days so I’ll manage to find a few pleasures amongst the too many not pleasures that I won’t mention!
First trip to the cinema since you know what to see the 007 film. It was a sort of pleasure to go but not too sure the film was!
We ate too many sweets in the cinema so shared a takeaway chicken shish and salad after.
Painting my old pine furniture continues and I’m now on to the second large bookcase.
Travelled over an hour in torrential rain to see sis in law who has moved in with her man friend.
Rain stopped for long enough for a muddy walk to the pub where they treated us to a rather nice roast beef with huge Yorkshire puds and drinks 🍷Walked back through the village which I loved as there were many very old and interesting buildings.
Better journey back and we enjoyed a cuppa and coffee and walnut cake 😋 and watched countryfile and strictly results.
Sun ☀️ Out this morning.
Happy Monday.12 -
Fingers crossed DfV ,but all power to him and great admiration from me to him for doing it !11

Morning all.
DforV hope dad has made it
DD - good luck with the application.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. did the milton keynes 2 step on the way to Oxford (i.e. two sides of a triangle from home to Oxford) to collect and deliver back mil. We didn't get blown away by a mini tornado, but we felt it .😱
2. lovely catch up with SiL and her 'children' - not actual children as the occasion was the younger one's 18th birthday
3. lovely roast dinner - it was lamb, which i choose not to buy and eat for myself but will eat it if it is presented to me.
4. MiL had a lovely time "seeing as how i spend so much time alone" ( 🙄 )
5. Cheese and wine when we got home.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -

Another Axis of Awesome fan here, Admiral. For those unfamiliar, check them out on Youtube where they demonstrate that every popular song over the last four decades or so is based on the same four chords.
Yesterday - a brief few hours rest after surviving two busy night shifts.
Lovely son had taken dog for walkies.
My new oven cooked to perfection roast beef, yorkies, spuds and apple crumble.
Aforementioned food enjoyed with a glass of Merlot.
Samhain celebration- lighted candle by photo of me and OH on holiday years ago. Twinkly orange lights around the fire, curtains drawn early because of the move to GMT.
Another glass of Merlot whilst catching up on Strictly.

Pleasure 1-5 very large numbers, he's back. Back in his own home, sat in his usual chair, cheerful & pretty much unrepentant.
One sister isn't sure if she's going to hug him or thump him first, another burst into tears of relief & I have learned some new slang Russian - a "box" may mean a very cheap very small hotel room. I hope I have managed to persuade them not to kill him til I get down - orderly queue & all that. but if his mobile phone isn't capable of roaming outside the EC (quite possible - how would you know without a helpful phone shop?) then a lot of his failures to communicate are explained & forgivable.
And now to return to my other life where I was supposed to have gone to Costco & didn't, so the menfolk under this roof are almost as huffy as us womenfolk yesterday...
Onwards!12 -
a a huge relief
where’s he going next ?🤣🤣

Hello. And the work is done! Hu-blooming-rah! And no alarm clocks till later on in the week! ( at the moment…this may change)
was slightly light on the way to work and slightly light on the way home. Not madly busy today though kept going and I just decided to embrace the quiet moments 😆 though I’ve usually got something I can do.What started off as 70p between 3 of us in tips ended up not too bad all things considered!
had a lovely chat with an Australian lady over for COP26.Got chips for tea.Just being home and knowing that’s my big days done and out the way for another week. And hello doggy. And hot shower and jammies on!10 -
