Thank you for the pointers to the Waitrose range, I may have to put an order together
1 Ordered up a purple and red poppy broach pin - of course.
2 Popped out to the pharmacy and popped to aldee as it’s on the same road, and made lunch fresh its just a ham roll lovely fresh, cheat cba food tonight a slice of pizza and some chicken pieces all from the freezer.
3 Downstairs is hoovered and mopped up and the extra animal area get cleaned and clean bedding.
4 Having to research new laptops after the ferrets “bathed” ours in full 2 cups of tea, tried a new keyboard etc but it appears to be fried, actually enjoying researching new ones, tempted by a gaming one.
5 Roles applied for, one in particular looks literally made to be, but I can see it’s got a high volume of applicants but I’ve thrown my hat in so fingers crossed.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to college! Only 3 hours this week but we can always hope for more.
3) Hens OK.
4) Went round the charity shops over the river in floody city but didn't find anything.
5) Had a cup of tea in Waitrose.
6) Collected smaller son from college and he had said something in his English lesson that made the teacher laugh.
7) Finally got round to driving to smaller son's previous school and picked up his GCSE and BTEC certificates (waiting there since summer 2019!)
8) Had an eye test at 3ish. Always exciting when a hereditary condition that requires a corneal transplant is sweeping through your family and you have a 50% chance of getting it. It gets opticians very excited. No sign of it so far and my eye sight is still good enough for driving a car, HGV or aeroplane! If I only had my right eye, I wouldn't quite be able to get a pilot's licence without glasses. I can live with that! He wants to check something with the drops and I was told that recovery takes longer for brown eyed people so I need to get a lift. Not quite sure how that is going to happen.
I also had to tell the optician that smaller son had been "conducting" with a length of uncooked spaghetti and managed to poke me in the eye. "Awww", said the optician, "how old is he?" He looked surprised when I said, "18"!
9) Smaller son made a banoffee pie (but with strawberries).
10) Watched Ambulance.10 -
oh dear pk I can see the headline now 'ferrets fry facebook'
1) so impressed by 'not just any non-stick little pan for scrambled egg' have asked dd2 to get me their omelette pan (none in Dundee but they had them in Liverpool, she'll bring it up in 2 weeks' time)
2) got some knotty issues sorted at work then played the piano- always an mse pleasure for me
3) made a scrummy macaroni cheese with celery, onion, red pepper and sugar snaps - and enough for tomorrow's lunch
4) good drinks with the boss - I had tonic water with frozen lemon - a ginless wonder ;-)
5) then Mennies with Dr M. Disaster - didn't realise Celtic was playing at the same time so no chance of getting the Leicester game on. OK not total disaster - we had a couple of pints, watched the Celtic game, had a good chat (just the two of us tonight) and I had a quick catch-up with another colleague from the uni who was in with friends celebrating getting a paper accepted. Walked home with Dr M and got home for 11. Now in bed listening to 'Paul McCartney: Inside the song' now onto Junk which I'm not familiar with at all

1. Rugby preview subbing and rewrites pretty much done. 3 home matches tmrw, so &'s charity raffle bullying will be at toppest notch, & in ott peafowl finery. Unfortunately, kick-off clashes with church jumble, but will pop by early, just in case.....
2. Overnight rummery in hw cupboard just checked. Now trad. crimbo cake gift to &'s oldest Northern hemisphere uni friend is underway, inc. h-g walnuts. No h-g currants this year. Checked vine yesterday, but somebirdy's had them all.🤭
3. Midweek Communion yesterday. Many to think about, 🙏🇳🇿🇪🇺, including D's identical twin grandsons, born a month ago, 13 weeks early. Combined weight, 2kgs, but gaining tiny grams. One has had 1st bath this week. Remarkable.
4. Seeing pics of friends' casa rebuild in Spain, with good online chat. When & will next be there, or back in France, let alone NZ - or anywhere non-UK - who knows? Still can't feel safe about Spitalfields, unhelpful for savings as nigh on 2yrs' absence is.🙄😬😶
5. Hot water bottle snugness, 2 nights now, so colder nights are here. No comfort like an hwb.

Welcome to all osper newbies. This is a good place🙂.
Hmm, will & have a slice of last night's h-m strudel as brekkie? It is yum....😋
and very os, with &'s h-g raspberries, use-up apples and h-m candied peel.
Happy Friday to all, especially if it's your end of week. Keep taking care.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Autumn walk in lovely local park. By myself for a change, much better for clearing the head than having to chat!
Carpet finally laid in lounge, stairs and landing. Luxury after 6 weeks without, although several doors do not now close as carpet is so thick! Still no hall carpet as still trying to resolve problems with water flow and might have to have new pipes ☹️
Managed to offload 3 bags to charity shop which had been in my car for 2 weeks as needed to park nearby as they were heavy.
Finally got to talk to GP surgery about booster jab. Had to have them at hospital last time due to previous anaphylactic shock but all seems ok to have the Pfizer jab in the usual way this time, just got to finalise my own research.
Waiting in yet again today for Thames Water to visit, but at least I can clean kitchen/diner and move more stuff back into the lounge.
Have a good Friday everyone 😊

Strudel for breakfast sounds a v good idea Ampersand.

For yesterday,
Out to pet store to stock up for small dog, a brand loyalty card meant a bag of food was free.
A big coat plus bobble hat kind of a day, popped a turnout rug over horse’s fleece and walked / grazed her in hand for 20 mins, she inhaled the grass after a diet of hay over the last few weeks.
Home and freezing cold so a mug of bovril with my lunchtime sarnie.
Over to nearby town for my booster jab, all done.
A clear evening so a little bit of star gazing while small dog did her last circuit of the garden.10 -

1. Good day at work at different site. We were given a bag of orange toblerone from a colleague who had been on holiday. First time I had tried them and were tasty.
2. Boss let me have day off for sister in laws memorial service in 3 weeks. I was expecting some resistance but there wasn't any.
3. Spoke with both sons as they had to give me a menu choice for the memorial service. It will be an interesting day as sons had never met their Aunt but her husband is keen to meet them.
4. Easy tea of soup followed by cheese.
5. Cheese delivery - it is the last one of DH Christmas present subscription.9 -
Hello.
For Thursday , which was another beautiful day.All frosty first thing, had a quick doggy walk through the frosty grass then into work for an hour. Was a nice walk under a star filled sky then back home in the early light.Went into town with DD2. Bought the last couple of things for DD1 Christmas parcel ( heading off soon to post it) bought some flowers from florist, had a nice chat with the girls that work there.Walked round to mums to feed cats. Walked home. Popped in to friends to say a quick hello.
Walked to boss to drop something off. Walked home. Beautiful sky.Friend dropped a lovely gift for me and a teeny tiny gift for DD1 to go in her box.Friend called and we had a lovely chatter on the phone!Read The Christmas Chronicles.11 -

Why can't we see whose thanks are beneath posts any more?
It's such a nuisance.
