your cooking looks delicious ampers
now I'm on my own i am loving weekly menu planning vjsmum. however eating the same thing 4 meals running isn't so exciting so need to plan in freezing portions too. need to sort my freezer - it's 3 drawers in a fridge freezer so not huge
for yesterday, an emotional day, the day of Dr B's funeral. Thinking of all those we have lost and shared here on mse 5os 💕
1) decided to take it gently so leisurely breakfast then dyed my hair then facilitated an online workshop with colleagues - big discussion about anonymous marking (I'm not a fan, would rather we prioritise unconditional bias training)
2) walked the dogs, got changed, played the piano till Mr E and Dr M arrived - Mr E was driving the 3 of us up to the crem - Dr M had taken a photo of his -ve LFT just in case but no checks at the crem made me chuckle though - suggested perhaps we should have worn them on our coats as a badge, with date done 🤣
3) then the most beautiful service, standing room only - such Dr B music, such a wonderful eulogy - everyone was masked and the door was left open - we were at the back despite getting there early
4) then back to the Botanic Gardens for a lovely wake which of course was outside - had the opportunity to go round the glass house in the dark - magical, complete with fireworks going off in the background. G had put together the music list for the glass houses, switched it on on shuffle, first track 'Clever Trevor' - now Trevor is one of the groundsmen who has been there almost the 50 years of our Botanics' existence - we all think that was Dr B doing the shuffle ❤
5) then to Mennies - the front parlour had been booked from 5 and was just lovely. Dr M and I left at 10, we had a nice chat at the end of the road then him to his supper and me to feed 2 hungry spaniels

2. Did manage a walk around the block

Yesterday
1. No work! We'll ignore the half hour I put in

3. A walk up the lane
4. A perfect fire lit
5. Nut roast for tea with stir fried sprouts and broccoli with bacon (which kind of defeated the nut roast but was lush and the bacon needed to be used up).
Today
1. Train to St Ives, all went perfectly
2. Read loads of my book
3. Our apartment is lovely, it overlooks the harbour. We're here till Tuesday
4. A mooch around the town.
5. A glass of wine while we wait for DS to arrive. He should be here shortly. Can see a few fireworks
Have a great evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) House reasonably tidy.
3) Hens OK.
4) Took smaller son and his school friend to the football - round one of the FA cup. I had a cup of tea then walked (miles) to the ground so I could meet them as they left. An older man was also walking around outside the ground (plus at least 20 police officers) and we ended up kneeling on the pavement and watching the match through the security fencing! Smaller son's team beat Grimsby 1-0 so will be on Match of the Day later.
5) In bed now and watching television.10 -
today was a day of two halves weather-wise
1) the morning was very stormy, rain lashing down, so watched the rest of Showtrial - really enjoyed it
2) watched it partly on tv in front room, partly on puter in my lovely bubbly bath - missed out on my Saturday bath last week due to working on my application - soooo happy that's in!
3) coleslaw with my fave new toy - Zyliss easy pull - so quick to chop up my red onion, white cabbage and carrot, so easy to clean (and of course no electricity)
4) sunny but windy in the afternoon so walked the dogs up to mum's
5) and now watching Guilty. Heating not on but have a blanket over my lap and my dressing gown on over my clothes.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Saw my sister for the first time in months & she did an amazing job with making me Cricut transfers for a project I'm doing for my husbands birthday
2. We've pretty much completed packing up the bathroom & almost the living room ready to move in 12th I'm started to feel a bit emotionally overwhelmed in a good way. I've dreamed of having a beautiful house with a garden for so long and it's finally happening
3. I tried jammy dodgers cherry & Baklava. I swear I've had Baklava before without realising what it was though.
4. Whilst playing Animal crossing new horizon, I'm slowly having a good plan for my Island and feeling more happier with it. I'm trying to do a Alice in wonderland and Tim burton-esque theme
5. My Sanario Amiibo's for animal crossing came...though I accidentally did buy the teeny tiny versions. I'm a tad annoyed at myself but I'm happy if they allow the characters to join my island & I get the stuff.
6. Nice evening with my husband watching the office, USA again & snuggles ... I need them as feel a little wrong out from past 2 days if being on the go & my Fibromyalgia isn't liking the fact I had my flu Jab done today. all is good though just need a day in bed tomorrow / a chilled day on the sofa
7. Become who I want slowly but surely. I'm wanting to be more neat, less stuff and more organised . I threw put eye shadow that I was keeping simply because my mum Brough them years ago - not that she's passed away but I tend to attatch a feeling of sentiment with random objects because a family member has brought or made them for me....it's because I feel anxious that they will get upset if I say I don't want it or don't have it anymore...which is silly I know.🗑️Mission Declutter & Clean 2022🧼 - 105 Items

Good morning! Still early here but was in bed earlyish last night so have slept all I’m going to sleep. Was in at work early yesterday. Then home and what a stinky day for weather! Wild and windy and very wet.Drove to train station to pick up my boy who was home to pick up my car. I’d planned on giving him my car next month as his very very old car would probably have failed it’s MOT and cost more to fix than it’s worth so it’s just a month earlier than anticipated. He didn’t know any of this but I’ve been wanting a smaller car for a while.Anyway we had a nice afternoon. The dog was delighted to see him, we had fajitas ( first time for me ( I think!) since he left home as DD2 doesn’t like them) he lit the most fabulous fire and then he was away again about 4.45pm. But nice to have a few hours with him. Chatting and laughing. He took away two of my pumpkins, ate about four hundred tangerines, found the last bit of tablet ( like it was a prize) looked into the fridge for inspiration, pulled open my larder cupboards as if a meal would just jump out to him. Just like he always used to!DD2 went out for dinner so was just the dog and I and a very warm fire. So as I started dozing on the sofa I decided I’d be better off in bed!10

It sounded like that was a good celebration of your friends life DD x
For yesterday,
Fresh brushed cotton sheets made for a cosy lie-in.Off to the feed store for some supplies and then over to the stables, did my heart good seeing my girlie in the fresh air, eating grass. It’s been a rough few weeks but she’s coped with it far better than I thought she would and I’ve really honed my poulticing skills!
Lazy afternoon on the sofa, listening to the radio and drinking tea, Utd came back to get a draw away from home in the cup and win a replay back at our place.
Blue cheese steak burger with chunky chips for tea.
A new Worzel Gummidge on tv, big fan of Mackenzie Crook and loved the Dectectorists as well.10 -
Glad your beautiful one is better Lainey 😊
Booster jab done and dusted, OH had his flu jab yesterday.
Quick shop at Lidl to use my £10 off before it expired.
Lovely chicken casserole with enough made for, hopefully, another 2 meals if I can stop OH having seconds. Accompanied by red wine 🍷 and followed by chocolate cake 😋
Finished watching series 4 of Shetland as friend told us it would help explain series 6, think she got that wrong, but enjoyed it nonetheless!
Super Sunday all 😘11 -
I has read all your posts, and & I did thank yours as well! And your cake. See below!
Ironing!
Dr. M! Mustr keep up, and yes DD we'res out of the tinpot competition. No thanks to Frith! As for onion chopping they should be toe nail style! End of!
Bangers, lunch and books!
Not speaking to you Frith! See above!
Welcome Glitch!
Stinky weather! And fed cats!
Fresh sheets! We has three sheets to the wind here!
Flu Jabs. GET YOURS!
If I missed you off, unless you were, it was not on purpose!
Back in Port!
Woke up on 5th all old and grump! Still see everyone celebrate though!
Was out on tour, Lincoln! Had brunch on way there in Newark. Then some fiery fizzy waters and a bit of pudding on the night!
Then off to Skeggie to see family and had large cake, as the day was close! Tea was drunk as well! All good!
Then off to Conisholme for the Appleby's Farm Ices, had my usual 99 and licked it down. Very tasty it was too! Then back for more pudding and fiery fizzy waters!
On Friday I woke up grumpy, threw all me clothes out and now wear only cardigans and slippers! Go to think I has eight years more than mum at 60! And i has still got all my hair as well!
Then off to the IBCC in Canwick. The exhibition is very good and i had time to use my cardigan to walk round. I noticed the lime trees are laid out as a map of Lincolnshire. Breakfast was also taken there! Tea was again drunk!
Then back to a steak and some more fiery fizzy waters! The Albatross drank them out of Jack Daniels!
Then came home and got loads of washing to do! Listened to the football and cursed! I understand that Frith paid the ref! Got more cards and had some flatbread and more fiery fizzy waters! Watched a flix on the box! 2 Days in New York. As it is a bit rude, not recommended to &!
Kitty was very pleased to see her dad and had lots of fussy nudges. Neighbour who fed her, gave her too many biscuits again!
Oh, and a Brucie bonus this morning, had my usual bangers and best back, but the pack had an extra slice, so it did not go amiss! Mushrooms and squirty poached eggs on toast finished it off, with a mug of tea!
Sorted things in the yard for the dump run tomorrow!
Washing out, tea with seal bar is being had and kitty is well chuffed!
Jen sends her buzz!
Keep safe!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!12 -
Sorry, Admiral! Here’s a steam train/floodlights photo to cheer you up. This is where I was killing time waiting for smaller son and his friend. The red bit is the new electronic scoreboard.
