Hello! And big worky day one is done. Hurrah! And oooft what a shift it was. Tad crazy! However before that I had a walk with the dog. Oh my goodness, it was so windy, his ears were almost inside out and my bobble hat was blowing about! Anyway it was either a slightly longer walk and no time to sniff or slightly shorter and time to sniff. He chose the latter. Much sniffing. Then walked to work in the bluster!Excellent tips.DD2 kindly offered to pick me up which she did.Son got a bit of cash for his old car which is better than nothing! I’ll get a refund of a few months on my road tax and need to cancel my insurance. So that’s a job for tomorrow morning. We got takeaway for tea so just enjoyed a chicken chow mein.Hot shower and jammies on!13

Yesterday
1 I took everything out of the chest freezer and meal planned where possible, I need to clear down some space for frozen animal food coming in, but it’s not helped the Christmas turkey is in it as well.
2 More practising signing, in the hope that practise does make perfect.
3 Dug out the Nigel Slater Christmas Chronicles.
4 More cleaning, tidying upstairs, gathered summer clothes together, and changed our bedding.
5 DH likes volunteering at a bonfire do miles away, so we did that, he gets to use his car off road and is happy, I took a flask of soup, and snack bits as quite frankly the place is full of people and the food is abysmal, but the whole point of our volunteering is we are no where near where people should be. All our animals were shut inside the home with radio on as we weren’t about, but we did take our deaf little girl with us as she got to amble in the woods and can’t hear loud noises. It was nice to be out.
Today
1 A lay in and grilled bacon for brekkie.
2 Cleaned the oven a pleasure when done.
3 A bit of a beige tea, kiev, hash browns and beans, using things from the freezer, I moved the roast dinner to tomorrow as the oven clean took a while.
4 Boxed up some bits that I’ve sold, not much in but clutter out.

Well that was a bit stressful. Got pinged yesterday just as mum and i left Tesco so made an immediate appointment for the drive through test centre for the both of us. Which meant had to isolate till my result (-ve thank goodness) dr m also pinged as it’s a mutual friend is +ve dr m still waiting for his result as he couldn’t do drive through. Had I not been in mum’s car having spent all afternoon with her I would have been in the same carless boat. Trying to recall how we were sat last time the three of us were together
1) had gone to bed early so woke up early - dogs couldn’t understand why we weren’t going for a walk.made frittata for breakfast and watched other 2 episodes of guilt - very good
2) then tidied the garden and did some major sorting of the dumping room (though obvs taking anywhere will have to wait)
3) stir fry for lunch yum
4) 2:25 got the text from the nhs -ve so phoned gbf and he came round to walk the dogs with me (mum messaged also clear)
5) then we watched dr who, he left, I ate supper (dhal), put on classic fm and finished my murder book. And now in bed. ZzzzzzzMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Capt S’s turn for a lie-in so I got up early to walk small dog, chilly but nice morning with a pink sunrise.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Topped my car up with screen wash plus checked tyre pressure and generally pottered outside.
We love an old fashioned ghost story in this house, especially as the nights drawn in, and have been thoroughly enjoying The Haunting of MR James on R4.
Too stuffed for dessert after lunch so we had it for tea instead, treacle tart. I use my DM’s recipe which is half breadcrumbs, half crushed cornflakes.12 -

1. Yesterday's service felt very special somehow - and was.
2. Did Last Mow of the Year......for the 3rd time, 😁. Let's see if it really is this time. Pulled the courgettes out too and picked 6 littlies. That's it for prolific them!
3. More walnuts everywhere, from the tree that's grown from one noix français that & didn't even know was in car years ago and grew by itself.💚 Will go and pick up more after this. Have already used some in bread and latest crimbo cake. Still 1 of those to do, so more fruit prep.today.
4. Weekend rugby - tight victory, well-earnt, hard-fought 19-15 over Eton Manor. Back to 2nd on League table, but 2 equally tough matches ahead.
5. Bullied another £700-800 in raffle tickets, which is tremendous. All for a very good cause and people are incredibly forebearing. It's becoming a Club tease now.😁

Ping Pong, freezer emptied and filled!
Fireworks on me birthday! Everyone celebrates, apart from Big Sis, who got upset years back!
Tips! See below!
I do not care about the hens, pictures of steam trains is not going to placate the Admiral this week!
& alas that one got away! As for the sticks were your fen is, the Admiral offers ...
Ships Quarter deck!
Had prawn poodles for dinner yesterday, with sliced peppers, mushrooms and, DD, toenail style onions in rich chilli sauce! Hot! Then had ice cream as it is good for you!
Then watched a film on the chili as we get freebies. Breaking & Exiting. Good and has a sneaky ending! Fiery fizzy waters were taken, and cheese consumed!
Had the biscuits of weet this morning in ice cold milk, with a nice crumpet for breakfast! Tea was taken!
Then off for a big day out at the dump! Got rid of the excess bits into bin!
Empress has been fed and watered! She loves it here!
That is all, Jen sends a Buzz!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!12 -
Hola. We're back from sunny Spain. It was indeed sunny, and very warm.
We had a lovely time doing very little. Walks, cafes, sea gazing. All was a real treat. All seemed ' normal' apart from wearing masks inside. The Spanish seem very compliant and wear them without exception. It very quickly became the norm for us again too.
So now lots of washing, but at least not much ironing. Don't think I'll be needing sun dresses etc any time soon.
Managed to go to yoga this morning. Bit chilly as the heating wasn't on in the church hall!
Lots of admin to do now. LF test to sort out then car and house insurance. That should keep us quiet for a while.
Happy Monday everyone

Hello and day two is done and at the moment that is me! For another week ( though that can change)
Woke up early then dozed off then just at a bit of a dream when the alarm went off ( I’m a very vivid dreamer) so was a bit discombobulated!Out with doggy and met friend on way back so walked back with her and had a nice chat. Then walked to work. It’s been a dreich day here. Wet and grey and a bit breezy.Kept going at work. Glad to get finished. Tips were reasonable and added to yesterday’s was more like what we used to get pre-restrictions! Tipped into the jam jar.Colleague kindly dropped me off at home so that saved me getting wet though DD2 said she’d have came.Hot shower and jammies on! Going to go and get cosy downstairs with candles on etc.
Lovely welcome home from my doggy. I love coming home to him.12
