Hope you get your eye sorted out Procastinator.
For yesterday,
Changed bed and swapped cool, cotton sheets for something a little warmer plus popped an extra blanket on bed, we don’t do quilts.
Our lovely Postie is changing rounds so left out card with box of chocs, was just leaving to take dog to vets when she turned up, quick bye bye and we will miss you, we never used to get Saturday deliveries until she started on the round!
Vet was pleased with small dog although she seems to have put on a bit of weight - dog not vet! - more tennis ball chasing needed.
Then over to the yard and grazed my girlie for an hour, all being well she will be back out in her field for a couple of hours on Sunday.
Capt S took the afternoon off so leisurely lunch and then a bit of gardening in the sunshine.
Didn’t fancy a big tea so SF chicken strips in wraps was easy to do.9 -
Procrastinator - it may be worth seeing if in your area there are Opticians in your area that have had more training and have clinics for eye emergency.
For past coup!e of days.
1. Work in Thursday at different site so was ok and last day at work for over a week.
2. Had blood test and he only needed one attempt to get enough blood. It can often take multiple attempts.
3. On Friday met a friend and had coffee. It was good to catch up with her. It had been a while since I had seen her.
4. Chat with my parents on the phone.
5. Tidying up in the garden and saw geese flying over in formation.
6. Mussels for tea.

Sausage rolls, cakes and chips from the van! Mussels and Ball chasing. Put the word ball into another internet thing this morning and it went red!
LT Quilts are good, we have separate ones so I get both!
VL The Albatross has trouble with her blood tests, so the other day she has to get one and I am all prepared to rush her off to the big hospital and the Jenner Suite where they soon have her lanced, to find she had done it at the clinic!
In Port!
Strange that yesterday The Admiral had problems with his eye running a bit while I took the Albatross to work! Was a bit runny! So I wiped my eye and it cleared up! Same rule from my ENT and hearing specialist, The Admiral suffers from Vertigo, nothing in your ears and eye. Good job I had my sinuses cleaned out years back. Bit like a pipe cleaner, but shown how to clear them!
Had Chinese chicken curry last night with fake sticky saffron rice! Then strawberries and a vanilla cornet, not from the van!
Watched Superintelligence on the box of oggle last night. Very good and recommended. Cheeses, nuts and fiery fizzy water was consumed!
Now readied for the big match of the weekend with Battenburg cake, midget gems and a mug of tea! Message to DD! Think this is the first time we are the top ranked team in the round!
Jen sends her Buzz!
Keep Safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -

Hi all,
Sorry about your eye procrastinater, and I'm glad the funeral went well VJsmum. Your poor brother, sounds like it's been a long road.
Mine for yesterday.....
1. Went to the hospital to book in for a home birth. Baby bump measuring on track (not that I believe in that nonsense. Last baby bump was measuring under and DS was 9lbs9oz...) Midwife very positive about home birth. Was worried I was in for a fight due to understaffing
2. Survived the end of the week at work and had a good conversation with a Partner and a client, I'm hoping I've built enough of a good foundation to not be forgotten on mat leave
3. Junk night for supper. Deep fried chips, veggie sausages, mushy peas and beans. All very much enjoyed and managed to muster the energy to make the kitchen sparkly despite both being dead on our feet
4. Ended the night listening to Bram Stoker's Dracula in bed with DH and a mint tea. Had to ask him to turn it off when it came to the bit with the baby in the sack...I'm very sensitive when pregnant!
5. When DS woke DH went and slept on the nursery floor so I could sprawl across the super king and get a good night's sleep. I suspect I need to volunteer tonight as he will have to log on tomorrow night to supervise a 'release'10 -
Loving all creatures great and small mhags, my treat too
We have the dreaded Millwall today admiral
happycas i got called renaissance woman by a prof from another institution and put it in my application for Reader a few years back
1) VP wanted a meeting - I said yes on condition it was in his office - I am sooooo fed up with online meetings!
2) and his PA made me a very nice coffee and the meeting was really good - think we might be doing monthly catch-ups like I used to with the previous VPE
3) glorious sunny day, back home for lunch (pumpkin soup and fruit cake, not together) then made another rustic loaf
4) Phoenix Friday - lovely chat with 2 colleagues, one retired. then we had a kebab sitting on the uni wall then for me
5) mennies to get an update on very ill friend - we had what his best friend C called a 'pre-wake' drink - friend passed away in the night so I think C was preparing us. Of course his passing is not an mse pleasure, but knowing him certainly was, a true polymath (had degrees in music and philosophy, maths and botany; phd in botany; qualified accountant; professional standard on guitar (blues) and saxophone. He gave me his own CD of the St Mathews Passion for my birthday in August so I knew things were not looking good.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Smaller son was a homebirth, @MandM90. 2.5 hours from start to finish. I kept the (not needed) bottle of syntometrin in the fridge for years afterwards! My main memory is watching the perfectly manicured bare feet of the midwife on the floorboards (it was very hot).
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in!
2) Hens OK and I had a little bonfire on the allotment.
3) House tidy and I did a third coat of gloss on the airing cupboard doors.
4) Did a roast dinner then have just made brownies. I hadn't got any mixed dried fruit so I made them with dried dates and glace cherries and they are better than normal!
5) Next doors took bags of stuff to the tip (they've had their living room replastered) and I notice they have taken a few tiles and bits I had left by my bin!
6) Just about to do the virtual pub quiz. Tea and a brownie to hand.
7) Have booked a builder in for a quote on Monday morning, just to repoint and get the old paint off the front wall where we used to have a porch. The last builder let me down.

Lovely frith, i do hope I make it this time. Had to go into hospital last time as meconium in waters and was quite upset about it!
Today's pleasures.
1. Took little tot into the village to get his haircut (below is a 'before' shot) as he was looking too much like Boris. We then had tea and toast in a lovely café before going to the park where we met a lovely lady and her recently acquired foster son and is 2.5 and incredibly shy. He was very suspicious of us which made me sad, in comparison to my DS who is extremely trusting and inquisitive. I hope he has a happy life. Then to the library for some new books. I picked up American Dirt for me and a few new ones for tot.
2. When I came back DH let me chill for an hour and a half alone in the '70s lounge' whilst they roamed the garden and DD watched telly in the snug. I made some progress on my book club book.
3. They found a beautiful fly agaric in the garden, and I cooked up some saffron milk caps with pasta for lunch.
4. A semi successful trip to Home Bargains. Got jalapenos, capers, DHs hair wax (same brand is 2X price in Mr Ts), shampoo and marzipan for the Xmas cake....no baking paper. Can't seem to find the stuff anywhere for some reason and want to make my Christmas cake.
5. It's only 8.15 and we are in bed. Fingers crossed for a decent night's sleep!9 -
Smaller son also had old meconium in his waters but they broke about 2 minutes before he was born! It didn't seem to affect him too much, but he did need an immediate bath.11

Friday night hm chicken curry from the freezer with spinach and l o potatoes added 😊 and mse
Saturday lie in then action stations cleaning and scraping the double glass doors between lounge and kitchen/diner, the lounge glass door , the dining room glass door and the landing window of paint, plaster and dirt from the decorators ☹️ Then cleaned out the under stair cupboard as above, then swept the bare stairs and floors. Does look much better and cleaner, roll on carpet fitting in a couple of weeks!
Then a lazy late afternoon of binge watching Vigil (2 episodes to go) with chocolate and then fajitas for dinner. Wine and port consumed, hence early night in bed and hopefully a good 💤. Night
