Good for you indeed Frith, a better balance is only fair.
For yesterday,
Went over to see my girlie and she had a little walk before grazing in hand, she’s looking a bit better and hopefully can go back out soon.
Then sat on my grooming box and showed her funny clips from my phone of people falling off, she wasn’t particularly interested and had a doze instead.
Stopped at the farm stall on the way home to pick up some veg, inc a huge cauliflower that will do all sorts with.
Did the bathrooms and then sat in a sheltered spot in the garden having a cuppa, small dog sunbathed, belly up.
Long chat with DSIL.
Tea was pork chops baked on top of veg with a couple of squares of choc for afters.

Are them Dark Clouds up there in Dundee?
M&M We always sit down for breakfast and dinner! Can not eat off me lap and it is selfish! Though on Saturday we has nibbles and bits on the sofa! Oh the fizzy waters! They be good for me! No snoozing on the sofa Ms VL!
Hens checked!
Capstan Turned!
Nipped out for dinner last night with the Albatross! Used my discount card 25% at the Fiery Fizzy Water hostelry! Had mixed grill and the Albatross had a Yorkshire pud with bangers! Fizzy waters were consumed!
Then home to do the University Challenge and some Up North bikers! Cheeses were consumed! Empress had her nudges and snoggled in with her dad! She is a star!
Had mushroom omelette for breakfast today, sat down as normal! Tea was drunk! Also I only have water, not that orange stuff either!
Now have my mug of tea, apple and cheese ready for the cricket! NMote even though I have an apple a day it does not keep the doctor away!
Jen sends a buzz!
Keep Safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
1 Took DH to a physio apt as he’s hurt his operated arm, so they ran a load of checks to make sure it’s a sprain, a sigh of relief here. He has to rest it.
2 I went to aldee while waiting and picked up bits and bobs and also picked up the Christmas turkey as we have space, has a lovely chat with the chap in front, and the people behind me were to mesmerised by us chatting they didn’t unload doh!
3 I ran rather late with dinner so we snaffled it rather quickly.
4 Various loads of washing done, and still cycling around it.
5 Got lost in reading a kindle book

1. Survived another 2 job day at work. Second half of the day was a delight, I had some really good participants including an Olympian and another woman who has grown a startup from nothing to 850 employees in 4 years! I love the women's programmes. There's something really special about them and meeting such high achieving women2. The cleaner came today. I like her more than most people I know. In fact I think I love her. She ended her three hour frenzy scrubbing the outside window of one of my lounges. Really need to get a window cleaner or get the window cleaning kit out
3. Ordered a mesh system for the house (£500 OUCH) which DH chose and thinks together with either full fibre, which we are getting installed this winter, or a satellite (planwe will finally have 21st century internet. To be honest I plod along ok but I think he runs larger more complex programmes and the teen will appreciate fast internet throughout the house so I can live with it. DH is relieved and the internet bugs/worries him and he never really goes into the office now. I don't think he's actually met most of the people working for him (actually neither have I but that's because 4/6 are based in Cardiff!)
4. Leftovers for lunch - root veg and lentil stew for me, bean enchiladas for DH. The fridge is very nearly empty except for jambalaya (LO from tonight) and some fruit. Friday night is 'sh*te night' in our house so everything will be deep fried from the freezer, and then we get a fresh delivery from Mr t on Saturday. Proud that there is no waste!
5. French class tonight. Felt slightly panicked about going somewhere but found it ok, got parking, was only 10 mins late and enjoyed the class
Bracing myself for work tomorrow as I feel very behind, but I will get through the day and then it will be the weekend.10 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son did not go to college but 3 out of 4 days isn't bad. He's been quite jolly this evening.
3) Hens OK.
4) Put the washing out then wanted to dig up some thistles that had self sown from next door (downhill side waiting to complete their sale so their garden is full of weeds and thistles that keep then popping up in my garden). Obviously digging up thistles led to more weeding, then cutting stuff back and generally tidying up.
5) Went to the millennium green locally which normally has loads of pears. Not very good this year but I did get about 10 field mushrooms.
6) Finished the second coat of gloss on the airing cupboard doors.
7) Made a shepherds pie for tea.
8) Watched Ambulance.11 -
it was dusk admiral
1) online meetings solid 9 - 3:30 - the pleasure? 1pm meeting was watch and listen only so was able to go downstairs heat up my soup - pumpkin, yummy
2) during one meeting doorbell - new neighbour and young daughter came round with a card and cake which was very welcome (i'd left them a card to welcome them)
3) 3:30 went for a run up the hill - very welcome break
4) other half of salmon curry for supper - just as well cos managed 15 min break between 5pm meeting with the boss and 7pm GWSE meeting
5) and now writing a paper for meeting tomorrow - rather dull job of looking up a gazillion figures on the web, helped through by the fire on, tiffin and Ridley Road - episode 4 already and only another 10 rows to go...MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Do love a poem DD I’ve been known to write the odd one or two!My Fursday pleasures included:
Having a day to my absolute self. No one else but my dog and I.Had work early as I do again in half an hour, which was just me.Then home and went a doggy walk with my sister.
Then they packed up and were away before 9am. Lovely to see ya all but byeeeeee!Washings out.Hoovered.Pottered.Till 4.30pm when DD2 came in and we went a lovely soggy walk down our woods and then to the big park looking for conkers. Found loads at the park ( where I knew where the trees were) all got a bit competitive and I won! I had the most!We were both in our beds early last night.
just going a quick doggy walk then work for an hour then back out with proper doggy walk.11 -
Not sure where else to ask: I've just realised that during my MSE break JackieO left the board. Hoping she's okay and just decided not to come back? Does anyone know? Very sorry to see her go. She was one of my favourite posters.11

Also along those lines I was thinking about Gingham ribbon and squeaky last night.
I think gingham had this as her profile photo which I recognised when DH and I started rewatching firefly a month or so ago. And squeaky may have been an owl?8
