Epic post as always DFV, thank you.
The holibobs sounds amazing M&M
For yesterday,
Bit of a worried night after girlie had come in from her field lame on Sunday evening, no better in the morning so vet with her by 10.30, no sign of hoof abscess or the like but suspected pulled muscle so box rest and painkillers prescribed. I breathed normally again!
She is a gentle mare and there was no sign of aggression when vet was manipulating what must have been painful for her, such a sweet nature.
Pottered around the house doing a few chores, made a loaf, spelt & pumpkin seed this time, to go with a butternut squash soap for lunches.
Caught up with last weeks GW and was fascinated by the methods by which trees communicate with each other.
Tired so long, hot soak in bath followed by an early night with my book.

DfV Albatross is how Ms Admiral thought I was called! Hence now it is Stucks. As usual, get used to it!
Hens OK!
Only two loads!
Holidays!
Steak with raspberry chocolate mouse? Tasty even at that!
Port of Call!
Had home style Chinese last night. Sweet and sour mushrooms with shredded peppers and toe nail onions. With fake saffron rice, that is long grain with a dash of the turmeric! Remember that the expensive Basmati is actually long grain but priced to suit! Then strawberries (rtc) with ice cream!
Watched the speedway last night, with some fizzy water and cheeses! More on Thursday!
I thinks the gym will hurt tonight.
Empress is on her winter mode and sleeping off all her summer joys. We are on cat watch this week with neighbour!.
Now sat with my mug of tea and sour grapes watching the cricket. Cheese is also available!
Jen sends a buzz!
Keep safe!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -
Admiral your post brought back memories of early courting days - I had bought xoh a tea pot - her brother warned her that the present looked like a woman serious on setting up home together (which undoubtedly it was!) and xoh named it Albert Ross 🤣
1) hosts (xoh's brother and wife, both professional musicians) had a rehearsal up in Brum so early start for them, lazy start for me - reading, Frasier, bath with more reading
2) after her morning of online lectures met DD2 at London Bridge - very nice lunch at Caravan with people-watching
3) wandered along by the river, stopping for a cup of tea sitting outside, more people-watching, and reminiscing about early life with xoh - good to remember the good times - we met at London Uni and worked there for 7 years after graduating
4) rush-hour tube back to Northfields from Green Park (not a pleasure) finally got a seat but 2 stops later saw 2 elderly ladies get on, despite being middle seat offered my seat up, young lady opposite took the cue and offered other lady her seat, gentleman then offered me his seat - he'd been sat a lot longer so I didn't demur - and he got a seat a couple more stops so good feelings all round
5) back to hungry cat, kettle on, M&C arrived home, after a cuppa we went off to Richmond for fish and chips and 8:30 showing of 007. Back late but a very good evening.MrsSD declutter medals 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐11 -

Hello.Busy day but busy in a nice wayWoke up and it was already light…gone 7am which is late for me.Went a lovely doggy walk.
Then seaside town to visit niecelys. Lovely drive through autumn countryside.Walked to beach. Then they all headed back home and I had a mooch around the charity shops. And bearing in mind I’ve a bag filled with stuff from my wardrobe on my bedroom floor to go to charity I was mindful of what I don’t need! But got a lovely little red leather bag ( and I hummed and hawed as there’s a big red bag in the charity bag!) but I knew I would get much more use out of this one. And a ni e shades of blues cotton scarf from accessorize. Then DD2 dropped me off ( and kindly picked me up later) as I was catching up with old work colleagues not seen since pre Covid. We always met up every few months and haven’t seen each other in the longest time. Was such a lovely afternoon just chattering,
Home and made a chicken and veg pie for tea with broccoli, red cabbage and baby corn, was most yummy.11 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep though I woke up with a start after my "someone hammering on the door" annoying recurring dream.
2) Smaller son went to college for the second day in a row! He got plenty done and had a game of badminton with a new member of staff.
3) I cleaned the bathroom which included scraping off spots of paint from my earlier endeavours plus cleaning the floor with bicarb and a pan scrub.
4) Popped to Waitrose on the way to get smaller son at 12.
5) Went to Homebase for some paint to gloss the airing cupboard doors tomorrow. They are massive doors as the airing cupboard runs right across the length (and width) of the stairs. I realised it is the only thing that hasn't been painted in the 22 years I have lived here as it is already gloss (green) and cleans up well!
6) Hens were OK.
7) Was invited in by new (ish) neighbours to see their re-plastering works.
8) An evening of TV awaits!9 -
I had a terrible night's sleep last night. Toddler was up half the night and I could've cried. Today I did morning at day job and afternoon at side job. Am knackered!
1. Quiet 20 mins to myself with tea and toast this morning as demon tot and husband snoozed
2. DH's eBay find secondhand posh boots arrived. They do look very fancy and he is pleased
3. Lunch break - beans on toast and some trashy YouTube (extreme cheapskates!)
4. Facilitating a leadership/self development course this afternoon and had the CEO of a fairly prominent organisation in my group. He was very engaged and said he enjoyed it. This is good as a) his org is paying loads of £££ for his employees to attend which is making my friends' startup profitable and paying my wage and b) I found last Tuesdays session very hard and was doubting my ability to deliver such sessions
5. Supper - everyone ate and enjoyed it, and it was easy and cost pennies.
Right, off to clean the kitchen now...oh, the glamour....11 -
Well done on the leadership course M&M
1) a lovely morning chatting to the ex in laws over cups of tea
2) met up with dd2 and we had McDonalds sat just outside kings cross
3) good train journey up only marred by there being no hot water so no tea. fortunately had a bottle of water
4) called in at mennies on the way home and watched most of the Scotland game while listening to the England game on my phone (free wifi in the pub) think i watched the better game.
5) then home and a lovely chat with ds - he has been dog sitting and is headed back to Aberdeen tomorrow as he's due back in the office Thursday. I have peeked at my inbox - 906 emails with over 400 unread. they can wait till tomorrow. which is in 3 minutes. mehMrsSD declutter medals 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐10 -
