Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Took smaller son to McDs (anything to get him to leave the house at the moment) then went to the charity shops and found myself a White Stuff shirt.
4) Glossed the first 95867439 metres of skirting board.
5) Babysat my little niece, who is always funny.
6) Watched Gogglebox.
7) In bed now with 1 cup of tea and 1 hot water bottle and will watch the Last Leg.10 -
1. Online conference was interesting and worth attending.
2. Hospital apportioned and boss happy with changing my clinics for the day.
3. Good train journey - interesting people on the train home! Connections were all good.
4. Watched rugby - a win which didn't look likely at half time. Great atmosphere at the match.
5. Chat with my Mum on the phone.10 -
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. On Thursday my fabulous cleaner brought us some homemade vegan Guinness wheaten bread and I had a slice yesterday with some flora and MILs homemade strawb jam. What a treat2. House all cosy last night. It's really starting to feel like home
3. Won some secondhand boots for DH on ebay. Spent £169 but they are in good nick and my pair of the same brand cost £400 7 years ago and are still going strong without any repairs so I feel like the ROI makes sense and he is thrilled. Just need to shuffle the budget a bit
4. Shopping comes this morning so last night I made soup with bendy celery and crumble with some neglected eating apples and some frozen morello cherries no one was keen on. Fridge now empty apart from some ripe pears (which we all love), and some carrots and parsnips which are in the meal plan for the next week. A couple of months ago we were wasting loads of food so I am proud of this
5. Ended the day, after tot went to bed, watching Free Guy on Disney with 13YO DD and DH. We all loved it9 -
That bread sounds delicious MandM.
For yesterday,
Out and about doing some errands, pet store for small dog’s food, tack shop for mane and tail spray for you know who and then Mr Sparks for some weekend treats, still no petrol in the garage side of things, no longer in the news but still bad in this area? On to the farm shop and butchers counter.
Very warm, almost muggy day, Postie back in his shorts! He came with a small parcel of secondhand books, ready for the weekend.
Made a loaf and while it was proving did a little bit in the garden.
A hot x bun with my afternoon cuppa, they are next on my list to learn to make.
Few games of Yahtzee after tea, enjoyed a glass of cider.

Hello…I can see a glint of light at the end of the new bed/ piles of stuff/ move stuff around tunnel! The top landing is now clear! Hurrah! First time since Tuesday. There’s a bag of stuff for charity and some things have been picked up at house this week. We’ve got quite a useful ‘can anybody use these?’ On our local estate FB page. Saves stuff going to landfill which is where it would end up.Yesterday was a bit of a meh day, I spent the day mainly in bed feeling grotty and it hopefully nipped whatever in the bud and I’m feeling better today.DD2 is floored with a lurgy. Poor thing. She just gets so ill.Friend dropped off some wax melts which are lovely. All new season ( winter) smells. Shall look forward to using them.Did a five hour shift this morning…oh hello 5.15am in at work! Waaah! It’s been a few weeks since that early. It’s a stinky old rainy day. Though was dry at 5am when I did the very early walk.10

Phew, the Albatross is in the shower, so The Admiral can report the Ship's Log!
Bed ends! Was that a film?
Crusty loaves made!
Bendy Celery Crumble? Intrigues!
On the Leeward side!
Saw off the Ted Lasso last night, so the trial on the plus apple has ended! The Admiral thinks not worth it! End of. Will Blitz watch new year for season 3. Very good series, but a but rude for the likes of &!
So watching, some fiery fizzy waters were consumed, with table cheeses as well!
This morning in the Galley, I had bangers, best back, mushrooms, fried potatoes and poached egg! Tea was well drunk! Empress had her special weekend foods!
Then I did the diaphragm in the water closet! To remove was three squirts of WD40 and two full refreshing cups of tea! Chocolate Swiss roll and wafer biscuits were also taken! One trip to the hardware discount store as well!
Just showered and scrubbed up as today we are having Date Night! Details later! The Albatross will be in her glad rags! Now listening to the mariners via the net! Message for DD We are ... More later!
Jen sends her buzz!

I completely related to the painting gloss hell at the moment.
It has been an emotional roller coaster this week, I kid you not we have been at the vets everyday one was critically ill and the vet and we agreed to at least try surgery and see which has worked very well.
This was followed the following day by another emergency, which turned out to be a tumour that was now on the outside of the body and blood pouring literally everywhere. He underwent an initial op to stop the bleeding. An hour later he’s in our arms on very strong pain meds and steroids to shrink the tumour which they will remove next week all being well, but twice we have prepared to say goodbye for now, and twice he’s managed a reprieve – phew. A weeks’ worth of pleasures right there.
1 Food planning from the freezer, today is a comforting pasta bake with a hot dog each cut up in it 😊 Currently cooking away.
2 Revising, not sure this is a pleasure until it goes in, I’m wishing I was ultra intelligent.
3 Just finished painting 5 walls and calling that it no more sanding and extra paint, one wall left and then I need to finish sanding and glossing the whole hallway.
4 A chat with DB.
5 About to watch 9 perfect strangers on Amazon, don’t take it as a recommendation just a pleasure to not see a repeat.

@Purple_kitten let me know what you make of Nine Perfect Strangers. I read it for book club a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed however I thought it would be much better on screen!
My pleasures ...
1. Mr T delivery, only unavailable item was paracetamol. Cupboards, fridge and freezer well stocked and grocery challenge going well
2. Car passed its MOT. Yay! And here in NI you go to these government test-only centres so it was very cheap and I felt confident they had no reason to fail me to generate work
3. DD happy to have a friend over for a sleepover. Her parents gave me a beautiful bunch of M&S flowers which are now brightening up the kitchen. They are very happy with a cheesy supermarket pizza, oven chips and ice cream4. House is in a good state, partly prompted by friend coming over. Even lit some smelly candles
5. Baby has just gone to sleep so now looking forward to a lovely snuggly evening with DH ❤️13 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to local town to get rat poison and paintbrushes. Saw mum and dad parked at the end of their lane on my way (mum was about to go into floody city on the bus), so I stopped the car and we blocked the lane chatting. Then another car came but everyone knows everyone so I moved on and that lady had a chat instead!
Quick look around the town and found an Emma Bridgewater vase with pansies on for £1.50.
3) Hens were OK and I cleaned out their sleeping quarters and hid rat poison down every rat hole I could find.
4) Went to watch the football with smaller son. His team lost 2-0 today.
5) Not very well this evening (achey and cold) so have been in bed watching Strictly and Casualty. No tea but I have had a mince pie!12 -
For yesterday,
Misty old start to the day but sun came out around 10am. Washing out on the line ready.
Spent time with my equine pal, her winter coat is really starting to come through.
Hoovered out my car and gave it a wash. Then tidied two kitchen drawers, have been meaning to do them for ages.
Nice evening walk with small dog although she managed to find a patch of sticky burrs and got a fair few in her coat 🤨
Treat of a Chinese takeaway, small dog had a couple of prawn crackers too.
