Pleasures for yesterday (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Various jobs completed during the day.
3) Hens OK.
4) Popped out in the afternoon to Sainsburys then had a sudden urge to park outside charity shop. (Not easy with the appalling road system in carpet town, plus a major road closed after a water main burst). My sister runs Forest School where she works and has been looking for soft toys of British birds and mammals for ages. Looking out at me through the window was a blue tit and an owl! I went in to enquire and the ladies were extremely helpful, looking out the back of the shop and finding a toy otter!
5) Went to my sister's to drop off my finds and had a cup of tea.
6) Went to watch the football with smaller son later and we won our 3rd round FA cup match. Horrible supporters on the other side, shouting "dirty Northern ********" constantly. Makes you wonder if they knew where in the UK they had driven to... One short, bald bloke "broke out" of the supporters end and did the hard man walk up and down in front of our supporters. Well, the walk that makes short bald men look like they're a strutting pheasant.
7) Watched Holby City and GBBO.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) 2nd coat of paint in the bathroom.
3) Took empty egg boxes to the shop.
4) Took cat food that my cats won't eat (!) to the cat rescue place.
5) Hens OK.
6) All jobs done round the house including a load of washing.
7) Smaller son had a reasonable day at college.
8) Bigger son popped in briefly.
9) Took my mum and dad to listen to Roger McGough.

hope you feel better soon Lainey
to be fair a lot of the latest delay was due to my computer illiteracy
it then became a huge elephant/ frog !
Finally told myself off ,started anyway and it did get clearer ,went away when it didn’t make sense then realised there were two ways of reading one step .
Surprised the Probate Office help line didn’t set up a line just for me ,I phoned them so often ,they were unbelievably patient and kind ,occasionally v rude about Ernie ! One told me it depends who at NS&I deals with the initial query and if I’d got someone else I wouldn’t have been told to get probate .
anyway now just waiting for the official document, then can send it and Ernies form off and wait12 -
Ms DD The Admiral did the Windsor Walk back in September 1980. My legs still hurt after 45 kms! End of! Oh, Happy Birthday, but I am lost at what an Owl Bush Bomb is!! I need enlightening!
M&M Get kettle on, I'll get the crusty loaf for that soup!
Read that as the Hens had a bad nights sleep! Oh bother!
Paulie Drinking Rum makes you a Pirate!
Back in Safe Waters!
The Admiral was away the last two days for his Uncle's funeral. Another good one to celebrate life! Good natter after as well.
One the way, we dropped anchor in Lincoln at a new place that came on the ex page. Very good, and Ms Admiral has suggested a special trip shortly. Details soon! I had some Firey fizz water and a steak! Very nice!
Just done the shop at the discount surplus store and got some supplies for the galley! We got some strawberries as well! They should be nice with ice cream later!
Listened to Mariners last night on the web. Message for DD 'We is still Top of the League!' As we were away, we had a pizza (discount surplus store version), some fizzy waters and cheeses!
Rite I am having my mug of tea on deck and a kitkat!
I fear the gym will hurt later!
Keep Safe All!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!13 -
Progress of a sort, Sue - but one time when 'little steps' should have been bigger, quicker, correct ones.
&'s wishes for 'sooner and simpler' are beaming your way.

1. Yes! MOT passed!👏 Such relief! DG for &'s Fenboys. Minor advisories can be over next month or 2, says J, who took car to test himself. & suspects this helped hugely. So grateful.
2. Wondering how closely this echoes Stephanie Coles' own life - she wrote and reads it, commissioned by auntie beeb. Love Stephanie Coles as an actress, not just for Cabin Pressure. Feast on both treats, consecutive on R4x just now:

3. Shortly off to do Food Hub stint. There is real need, shamefully.
4. Loving your pics again, Paulie. ❤
5. Subbing and proofing for Rugby preview. Much to do, good to do.

Call from NZ friends at NZ 6.30 a.m.
& was up on The Gallops, post-MOT, for connectivity and in order to finish dealing with various matters. & will take 3 white lilies, tied with claret ribbon, to Friday's funeral. We know why together and wording agreed.

Mushroom soup looks amazing M&M
For yesterday
1) rained all day but good excuse to make a chunky lentil soup (was too lazy to grate carrots and neep aka swede lol)
2) had a good laugh with colleagues at last meeting of the day - much needed!
3) then a neighbour came about renting my garage. i had warned him it needs a bit of work, indeed maybe just replacing (it's a double length wooden structure at the end of the road opposite) - he is very interested, good at diy and is going to look again with a friend at the weekend. says he might be able to fix it - i said if so he can have it rent free for the first year and we both felt that was a very good deal (it's been unused since xoh left as i have neither car nor motorbikes)
4) after supper listened to the radio 3 concert while attacking the emails - managed to get down by 300 (sadly still 500 in the inbox)
5) then chilled to the last 2 episodes of the goes wrong show - got a bit bored of the how to act so whizzed through that and chuckled through the rest

Hello.Bedtime! Really! I’m all tucked up in my new bed and might doze off but have a few things I want to try and catch up with.
A day spent catching up on lots of things!Such a beautiful day. A cold start at 2o but bright and cheerful.Washing hung out.Sweet peas pulled. Saved the seed pods from them.Went to local charity today and handed over cheque from the fundraiser we held last week. Then went a lovely walk with doggy. Took our time and just enjoyed the scenery. Cut through a field which I won’t again as dog has been itchy ever since. He has allergic reactions and is on meds, Short grass seems okay but long grass isn’t! Anyway it was a lovely day. Big blue sky, autumn colours and birds a-singing.Then round to mums who has managed in 5 days to get all untidy again. Sigh. And has spoken to no one in 5 days ( I obviously don’t count) .Moan. Moan.Home ( via supermarket) and had an afternoon of a bit in the garden, a bit upstairs, a bit downstairs and watching Bake Off…would pause every 10 minutes to do a bit more. So got all the bits that I’d wanted done. Bathrooms cleaned , upstairs and downstairs hoovered, greenhouse righted, it had blown over. Emptied the contents. Filled the log basket ( aware of spiders in the log shed! Waaah)Steak pie, broccoli, red cabbage and baby corn for tea.Old bed frame picked up tonight. Hurrah. Had a nice chat with couple.11 -
Soup looks lovely DD!
1. Beautiful pink sunrise this morning and then a rainbow on the way into Belfast
2. Last of the homemade mushrooms soup to warm us at our desks at about 11 today. Served in mugs but I drizzled with a touch of truffle oil. What a treat.
3. At work I attended a leadership course and a previous head of MI5, Baroness Eliza, did a talk for us and answered my question! Very exciting. She also told a very funny story about having to blow dry a house cat, when it escaped into the rain from a house they were bugging, to prevent the person they were monitoring from realising someone had entered their home (no cat flap!) I belly laughed.
4. Quiet work day so cleared some personal emails. Tomorrow will be a bit brutal as am side hustling again in the afternoon.
5. Cuddles with toddler before bed. We have read the same bloody book to him every night for the last few weeks. Don't know whether to renew it again or get some more for our own sanity.9 -
