For yesterday
1. Met a friend for coffee and cake. A good couple of hours spent chatting about a huge range of subjects.
2. Spoke with a friend on the phone. She should have left work but is going to continue for a bit longer.
3. Odd bits and pieces done in the house which I have been meaning to do for ages and finally got round to doing them.
4. Found a new sideboard we both liked at a local shop for a reasonable price. It needs to be narrower than most are.
5. Cooked tea rather than resorting to a takeaway. I enjoyed it more and certainly better for us.13 -
That foraging course sounds wonderful VillagelifeFor yesterday,
Boiled egg with marmite soldiers for breakfast.
Over at the yard and had a couple of hours with my girl before the rain came over, in fact it started just as I was driving out of the gates.
Heavy rain and high winds put pay to any gardening time so cosy afternoon in the kitchen instead, a seed and malted loaf made along with a chocolate sponge with lemon curd filling.
Listened to the footie and Utd came back from 2 nil down to get a point.
Two more episodes of Vigil watched, cushion of protection on standby for any eek moments!12 -

No pirates spotted yet Admiral, but above sign has been spotted🤣
Early morning boat watch this morning at Cadgwith.
Real mixture of rain and sun on our last day but we managed sunshine at Porthleven for an ice cream and raging seas followed by sun at Mullion.
Then back to cottage to sit on the patio in the sun with a pasty and cider and watch the boat come back. Seal spotted in the sea below us and a long running fight between a juvenile seagull and black backed gull over a fish, very entertaining 😊
last evening here and still watching the changing sky and sea, beautiful. Use up of the bacon, sausages and eggs for dinner tonight (MSE 🤣) and hope the decorating is finished when we get home tomorrow.13 -

1. Took my beautiful dog to see my elderly grandfolks today, she was good as gold and they really love to see her, it’s very therapeutic for them - so lovely to see them smiling.2. Made a delicious roast of stuffed breast of lamb with honey roasted parsnips, carrots and beetroot, and roast potatoes. Got enough meat left over for shepherds pie tomorrow with sweet potato mash.3. Prepared a batch of roast potatoes to freeze to save some time in the coming weeks, and roasted up the peelings with some olive oil, salt and pepper for a crunchy treat.4. Got a load of laundry done ready for the week ahead, using the air dryer, which makes the house warmer so we can avoid the heating going on.5. Started drawing up some plans to do some batch cooking in the October half term ready for the colder season. I’m going to have a nose on here.12

From the weekend
A day at home Saturday as it rained and rained
Sorted out lots of admin bits. Good to get that out of the way.
Finished my second cloth pumpkin. Made the first with DGD and she proudly took hers home. One more to make ( has to be an odd number!)
Spent much of the weekend discussing possible holidays but no decision as yet. There are too many imponderables!
Met DD and partner for breakfast. I had mushrooms on toast and must have had about a pound of mushrooms! Good job I love them.
Catching up on tv. Good to have a choice. Grantchester and Silent Witness watched now.
Who knew there was a vineyard about 10 miles from our caravan! Saw it on Hairy Bikers. Will have to check that out.
Happy Monday everyone12 -
For yesterday,
Feeling a tad rough with a heavy cold so a welcome lie-in.
Then after breakfast and the Archers omnibus another doze, this time on the sofa!
An hour sat outside in a sheltered, sunny spot providing a relay of tennis balls for small dog to chase.
Eldest DSS came round for a cuppa and a catch up.
Crumpets for tea and then watched Midsomer Murders.
