For yesterday,
Beloved up very early and took my car to get petrol, I was down to last 50 miles and dreading going so bless him for doing it for me.
Small dog has been worrying at ear again for the last couple of days so visit to vet, she has a fungal infection in it so wash fluid and drops provided, bye bye £120 so not a pleasure really but glad I got her in.
Switched the heating on briefly to check everything is ok and thankfully it was, back off now although it was cold in the evening but we do have sofa blankets for cosiness.
Transferred survey earnings into savings, not a huge amount but good to do.
Caught up with Only Connect ( no red hair?? ) and then last weeks Grantchester.

Procrastinator - sorry you had a carp day. There are days that you simply have to bow out of and look forward to the next. I was saying as much to my brother the other day.
ESG - welcome
Pleasures for yesterday
1. went to supermarket and the fridge and various cupboards are stocked up again.
2. had bits waxed, shaped, tinted as appropriate
3. met friend in the arboretum for picnic lunch
4. Then we went to two talks about two of the memorials - fascinating but harrowing
5. Cooked a proper meal - beef goulash, with spuds, carrots and broccoli. I feel like it's the first proper meal i've cooked in months
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Purple_kitten said:Admiral, what/which place is the discount surplus store, if it's not a trade secret - shhhhh?
Quick visit, the Blue Peter is hoisted!
Anchors Laid!
Just been to the (PK note!) The Discount Surplus Store to get provision for the week! They again had everything in! Though some though about filling trolley of bread and sugar! I am sure the dusks around here do not like bread! To avoid confusion, take the aerial lead out of the oggle box! Save £159 in tax a year! Not knowingly watched since 21:33Z 1982-05-03!
Using the Discount Surplus store instead of other places, in September we saved £141 against a spend of £256! We is having another Discount Surplus Store open in town soon, me thinks that two of the other expensive places may just pull down the shutters!
Caught up with films last night, Any which way you can! Firey fizzy waters were drunk and cheese consumed!
Empress has adopted her winter mode for sleeping. Ms Admiral's bed! Saw on the face book that last year she was so weak, she could not use the flap and we had curtains on it! Now she is the ship's cat and grown so much!
Got things in for chicken curry this evening, with egg fried rice (Long Grain, as that Bashmati is actually long grain!) Should clar the system! Details soon!
Watching the cricket!
Keep safe!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
1. Reading crazy tales of petrol queues back in Bucks and feeling grateful to the people of Northern Ireland - haven't seen any queues here at all. Being very pregnant and rural I'd be v. concerned right now.
2. Supper of beanballs, spaghetti and garlic bread went down really well today. Portion in the fridge for someone's lunch tomorrow, and plenty in the cupboards and freezer for whoever doesn't fancy it.
3. Mum has come up to stay and cleaned the kitchen for me after supper, yay!
4. First French class of the term. I haven't spoken in over a year but managed to keep up. Wasn't the best, nor the worst, which means it's a great fit for me in terms of progression. Unfortunately it was on Teams and only an hour as the tutor was unwell but hopefully normal service will resume next week!
5. Only Connect in bed with DH. I got loads tonight, DH was suitably impressed. Doesn't happen often12 -
1 I did the grocery challenge this month and it’s been useful. I noticed we buy a lot for stock and those “nice to haves” creep in, So locking it down this month trying for less stock and no nice to haves.
2 Sat with my feet up, a cuppa and an animal while watching Charlie Dimmock design a lovely garden, maple trees, autumn cheery tree, a scented walkway herbs, lavender, rosemary, now watching a Christmas film ahhh.
3 Programmed the heating to come on again after a cold night.
4 Homemade lasagne from freezer stock was dinner.

Beautiful starry sky at Cadgwith early yesterday morning watching the fishing boats go out from 6.00 a.m.
we then drove along tiny roads with views across the beautiful estuary to Trebah gardens and beach.
Gorgeous tropical gardens and hydrangea valley and a stunning view from the beach.
Lovely sunny day so back to the cottage to watch from the patio, the boats come back while eating Pasties.
Rain all day today, so no boats. A walk around the village and cove and then back to the cottage to look at the pounding sea and to read. A superb if rather expensive dinner at old cellars across the road. Sea bass with king prawns and crab bisque for me and fillet steak with dauphinois for OH. Delicious 😋
Night all 💤12 -

Meeting the family DD….hmmm! Should we be ordering our fascinators yet?Well it’s bedtime! Been a long day. Just in from a very busy charity event I’d organised. It went exceptionally well though I’ve not been in the company of so many people for such a long time…thank goodness for masks.Blooming cats that are fed more often than me! However they’ve been fed by me three times today, back and forth, back and forth.Back massage oh ah ouchy,Had to go in to town to buy a birthday gift for a colleague.Popped into flower shop and got a wee bunch for me. Had nice chats with the people I knew that worked in the shops I was in. Met a friend on way back to car park. Had a quick chat.Got what I was after and straight home ( well via the cats)
Then come on dog get in the car we are going a very rainy walk round the park but I just needed some green and some trees …oh and found some conkers.Had a half hour snoozette. Set the alarm to go off. Just needed to recharge. Then off out . I’ve spoken so much tonight my throat feels gritty.Popped into supermarket on way home and got a few bunches of very RTC flowers. Will sort them out in the morning.Alarm set for early o’clock.10 -
