Dirty dish water! Good job we have no smalls!
M&M What, no pan onion gravy? Roasters look good!
DD we could go top! More later!
So glad I switched off the media on 21:33Z 1982-05-03 It was a Monday! Don't forget they need your TV Tax to pay for the dance walk of fire competition and soon will be out with the cap for the celebs on CiN, while I remember that the hots was paid more in an evening than the single mum on the checkout did in a year! Yet she gave her best form her purse!
Rant over!
On the Anchor Today!
As I keep moving, the anchor does not collect barnacles! Did you know that in the old days that the barnacle goose was thought to be born from barnacles, as no one had found the eggs! Other stories are available on request!
Had home style sweet and sour chicken last night for dinner, very tasty. Then we had some strawberries. As I had visited the local discount surplus store earlier, shelves again were stacked to the gunnels, some mince pies as well! Oh I has a treat for today as well!
Ms Admiral popped out to the local discount store and got a couple of bottles of Firey fizzy waters! We watched another film, nearly ran out on the amazon and Netflix during the virus, but I had a voucher from the paper, so we uploaded Any which way but lose! Old one but very good. the waters and cheese was consumed! Watching films makes me feel good! It means I am not fed some walking on dance fire fake off b list non entity disguised as entertainment!
Now sat with my mug of tea from the galley, with apple and cheese. I have some sour grapes and boiled egg later, go to work on an egg! And a trifle!
If you feel your chest with your right hand, your get close to your own heart!
Keep safe all!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
Recent pleasures from Cornwall:
The beautiful view from our Cottage in Cadgwith (top left). Watching the fishing boats going out early in the morning.
Walk at the Lizard (bottom left) via Church Cove (top right) in the sunshine ☀️
Drive to pretty Mousehole (bottom middle) via a walk to the mine engine house at Rinsey (used in the filming of Poldark) beautiful views from there.
Fishy lunch overlooking the sea at Mousehole. Stopped at Newlyn on way back (bottom right) and bought sea bass and red mullet fillets which I cooked for dinner with garlic, lemon and butter and new potatoes and green beans, yummy.
Weather has been a mixture of sunshine ☀️ and heavy showers. Today it’s due to rain all day, so no boats going out and we will probably spend the day watching the sea and hopefully lunch of fish and chips at the Old Cellars across the road.
Happy Tuesday everyone 😊12 -
Wonderful photos bringing back so many happy memories and tears
Thank you12 -
Suffolk Sue
Sorry about the tears but pleased about the happy memories. Such a beautiful place. I’m lying in bed listening to the waves pounding 😘😘😘11 -

Paulie your photos make me ache! We haven't been away since 2019 (and that year we cancelled 2 weeks in Sancerre on an intensive French class, a week in Spain at a family property and a UK festival as I was sooo morning sick!). We tried again this year and France was a no go in early July and all the places in NI/ROI were £££. Argh, next year...no matter what!! On the upside the cash we saved we invested in a lush superking bed so now our room feels a bit like a swanky hotel (if you ignore the 90s carpeting)11

Yikes! Sorry all, RL going daft, again. Would time management help? No - mhagster is doing Far more than I am & has the grace to share hard learned lessons as she goes.SuffolkSue - rarely a day goes by without a questionmark of some sort, but if you can't document 5OSPs, do at least watch for them. It can be a toddler laughing, or a dog's expression that makes you smile, or just it lashing rain so you don't have to water, the trick is always to have a handful of things to smile over in bed. (I raffle for pages as I use my phone as a prosthetic memory!) DGS growing by the yard?!LaineyT - Awed at cutting screen time by 40%. Reproofing has its own satisfaction, especially when next tested... Love the idea of haynet surprise.villagelife - home grown roses are special. Rousing congratulations on 33 years!VJsmum - sorry for your brother's loss & inevitable ongoing family 'um's. (Um, should we do X etc) Not sure it's hit, owch. Christmas planning...Purple kitten - I read "2 loads of ferret washing throu the tumble drier" and promptly misunderstood, visualising ferrets rolling & leaping & drying inside a machine... All strength with the tests for FIL. A well scrubbed fridge is a good start!mhagster - there is no formal way to greet a conker, so long as it ends appreciatively!Frith - hurrah science teacher, yegods painting- well done you! Hoping the hi viz beeping army have now left?MandM90 - skipped 200 pages as had a lot of RL ongoing & growing! Stunning garden!Happycas - ooh, Going Out out!DundeeDoll - fellowship application giving you an extra morsel of sympathy with others sweating over word count & coherence?!procrastinator - welcome back! Cousin & his family are huge Strictly fans - only time parents get to see teenagers & each other simultaneously.Admiral - the IBCC is an astonishing place. Hurrah MrsA [that feels So Wrong] 2 years recovered!PaulieHerts - wonderful photos of Cornwall!
Ampersand - no idea where you are but hoping devoutly that it includes in health & in spiritsBala - likewise calling down Fates' kindness upon you.OS Pleasures recently“Don’t leave your glasses on the floor!” Ooops. Ah well, we have the technology to coax things back into alignment & grip & even spare screws. I remain deeply in the wrong but reassured I will have driving glasses in minutes, even if I may not drive today…If you seek to put grief into perspective for a moment, genealogy helps. It’s not the fecund that make me wince, but those who delivered annually to learn assorted wars erased all their work. Pleasure is being able to upbraid Middleson for driving with callous disregard for the clutch.Ah the clop & creak of those out hacking, hearing shod hooves crisp & the creak of saddle leather as riders sway & swivel. Plus the relative patter of the Shetland trying to keep up.Ordered a Bonne Maman advent calendar for my mum, who loved hers last year. No idea what she thought of some of the flavours but she adores the little jars & likes the fuss-and-consideration of daughter supplying excitement for the breakfast toast! [it’s arrived! She’s smitten all over again!]Well, well, look who’s talking net carbon whilst in Washington DC America. Pleasure in the daftness!Another Royal baby to croon over! (Absolute sucker for the pageantry…)Aww Brokenwood Mysteries, got to love a New Zealand based series that has a recurring character known as “Frodo”…Lady mother literally has a screw loose - in her ankle. Her physio is concerned and sympathetic, dad is just laughing so hard he can barely stand up & thinks it’s hilarious….Whoopee, intriguing family place of death “The National Hospital for Diseases of The Nervous System” in 1947 (Including Paralysis and Epilepsy but maybe the registrar ran out of space.) Cor. Roger Bannister worked there! (Might my relative have met him?!) I note it still specialises neuroscience & has 4 operating theatres. (Show must go on.)I do not wholly approve of Amazon but they are replacing the kettle with a quieter one tomorrow. Tea will flow! [It really is one of those ‘however did we before?’ situations!]We chivvied my father into switching on his mobile phone. Hoping for a come for a top-up shot message. He can’t find his messages but with some dubious prodding “the little number says 90”…. Oh ye gods, watch over my 80-something phone Luddite? Mum sensibly says the practice will call her (as they speak about once a week Anyway).Bought tinned haggis online - all 6 cans dinged, return in hand & himself muttering just as well, overpriced. Love to know where he thinks it’s in stock… pleasure is return in hand. [Sorted! Truly, the emporium is wonderful!]Someday, when a SAP trainer asks “any questions?” I may ask “Why?”. Not without a comfortable chair, flask of tea, high protein sandwiches & a rabbi (in case) though.Aw, husband messaged to ask ‘what Sort of liquorice’ did I want…Thanks to LaineyT there is still one Bendicks bittermint in the fridge & I am keeping that for the end of this training course as ye gods it is being challenging (& there is another fortnight of mischief in the diary). Careful planning of treats makes diligent study less painful… [All gone!]Taskmaster (that somewhat acquired taste in TV) has somehow acquired Victoria Coren Mitchell! Startling but intriguing.“Forgive me for I would not harm thee my friend, nor any other creature in the world, but thou standest where I am about to shoot” the burglar fled. Not all Quakers are wholly pacifist. [I learn so much while auditing the weaving museum’s books!]Live band at Southport fireworks not going terribly well. “how’s everyone doing for petrol?” got the best audience response…. Well marshalled in, bedlam super spreader going out. We were there for the winner, which was a cracker of familiar themes to fireworks culminating in “the A team”!Went to an army surplus store & just shed decades as Himself sniffed the webbing & picked up a bag of Dutch rations… Hours of fun translating and repackaging and then eating! Plus some new shirts & a pair of “tent socks” which are so warm & fluffy they have no traction at all but ooooh warm toes.Gardening teaches humility if nothing else. I grew this years tomato plants from seed, intermittently watered & fed them & today [er, this weekend] the harvest didn’t fill a palm. Nor will the two biggest (smaller than a tuppence) likely have usable seed, & they’re all as green as Kermit. Next year I’ll buy a started plant & loose my £3 differently!Hurrah, parents lined up for 3rd jab!Filthy fingernails but 8 herb cuttings water rooted & now bundled in compost & contemplating their next stage of growth. Still in the bathroom which gets loads of light even if patchy heating.Have to say a birthday in Suicide Awareness month, alongside Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), can be a bit surreal. Then my family wake up & it all goes absinthe… waves an appreciative trowel & dives back under headset for Nice Ordinary work, relatively.
Right. Health Strength Love & Courage for all as have need, really robust waterproofs & warm blankets for outdoors indoors & even just visiting, and eyeing the St Francis prayer, let me bring cake. As nearly every triumph and disaster can be soothed with a brew & a bite. Nearly.11 -

I love the Quaker quote Forgive me ,I would not harm thee……but thou standest where I am about to shoot !Priceless
Thats two laughs this afternoon,

In brief as I have hardly any battery power left.Well the mother is in hospital, much to her disgruntledment ( is that even a word)… she’s not happy but she needed medical attention and assessment…however was to be a 4-6 hour wait for an ambulance so we drove her there but unfortunately just had to leave her as we are not allowed in. Still waiting to hear from someone what’s happening. So it’s a double edged sword in that it’s a relief she’s being seen to but the fact that’s she’s had to go to hospital means it’s serious enough and also the increased risk of Covid which is rife in these parts!Anyway yesterday the huge big worky day was worked and done and dusted and excellent tips were placed in the jar.Today the alarm went off early and I walked to work in the dark but walked home an hour later in the nice morning light where I stopped to take photos of berries and rose hips all bright and glistening. And said hello to the birds as I went by.Specialist nurse called me and had a chat with her and then called mums GP. Then three hours later called them back as I hadn’t heard and a very nice chap called back and came out. We managed a bit of a laugh as we got her all packed up and ready to go ( she’s not really known for her sense of humour!)
Seeing as we were in that end of town we went for very late lunch / early tea.And finally hello dog…it’s been a day of in and out ( he got his tea early though!)9
