Love your refrigerator. You managed to work a miracle to get it that clean. Mine looks terrible - and much smaller than yours. I'm impressed how it clean and new it look now.9

purple a woman after my own heart, except I love the dirty water when we rent a carpet cleaner
Thanks weenancy glad someone else appreciates it. Asked DD if she noticed anything different about the fridge and she just said "you bought yoghurt?"
BoP i feel shielded from the madness. No queues here in rural co Down NI, haven't noticed many shortages because I shop online so don't see the shelves and also don't watch much telly. At least no live telly!
1. A nice easyish day at work for a change. Also managed to listen to an hour of French podcasts whilst driving which felt like a wholesome use of time
2. Applied for our £100 northern Ireland shopping voucher thingies. Will probably use it for something for the new baby, we haven't bought anything yet!
3. 18 month old being very cute during storytime. He 'tuts' the robber in Gracie grabbit and the tiger as soon as he starts his naughty thieving. DH and I were melting!
4. Watching the last Vigil with DH on catch up in bed
5. Swede and potato pasties for supper. With leftover roasties warmed in the oven for the last few mins. Pic before the addition of veg and beans. My pasty edge twisting is definitely amateurish but they tasted lovely12 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A slightly better sleep.
2) Had my hair cut! It had been months,
3) Popped to B and Q for paint.
4) Hens OK.
5) The new uphill neighbours want to replace the fence between our gardens. The old one was "temporary" by our neighbours in 2003 so it will look better once done.
6) Painted all my spots of polyfiller in the kitchen and lounge.
7) Met up with my parents, brother, brother in law and bigger son and his girlfriend. Bowling first then we went to a local pub (where Nigel Slater got his first job) and had a lovely meal.
8) Home now and it is total chaos outside! My road leads to an A road and my parking space is off that road. Got to 100 metres of home and even my little road is shut. Had to be escorted through, hazards on, by several road maintenance men. Got to the main road and there must be 30 massive machines and dozens of men. The whole car park is full of other road laying machines and the main road has gone! So lots of men had a little think (all in the pitch dark) and we managed to get my car up a very high kerb onto the pavement, 1cm from the window of my neighbour's house. It is now right by a dangerous crossroads (had to launch it onto the kerb between those posts that are there to stop you parking in silly places).
Every road machine has a different awful noise plus there are reversing beepers and scraping noises. This is all night tonight and tomorrow night...12 -

pleasures for sunday
1. a nice bath and a couple of episodes of Killing Eve
2. read some of my books i'm trying to finish but not much enjoying (but have read too much to give up on). I finished one of them, then started a new one that i'm enjoying. I will plough on with the other, a couple of chapters at a time
3. may have had a snooze
4. made a cake, though it is a bit 'meh'
5. early night as i was rather a zombie all day
and yesterday
1. nice quiet train rides
2. worked on my next job application
3. helped my brother sort out his house. his wife died 2 weeks ago and he wanted to turn the sick room back into a useable room. He is coping really well, i'm not sure it's hit him properly yet.
4. cuddles with his doggy
5. we went out for a meal - because he could.
have a great day all - my sister is coming over today so the three of us are going for lunch.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
For the past couple of days.
1. Sunday was relaxing - did some gardening but very gentle.
2. Picked loads of cobnuts up from the ground.
3. Sat with a wine with DH in the garden.
4. Monday was a day off but felt less than 100% so had a day reading a book and watching some tv.
5. Cooked a shepherds pie and apple crumble with a few of the nuts used in the topping.10 -
Good morning
Gosh Frith. That sounds like one of my nightmares. I hate parking at the best of times and that sounds far from the best of times!
Lots of pleasures recently.
Our night out was good. I'm glad I had a last minute change of outfit to a summer dress. It was a very warm night in a warm venue. But it was good to see friends from way back when and catch up on their news.
DGD came on Sunday to do more schoolwork. She's working hard and hopefully will be back at school next week.
DD came to see DGD. She's not seen her since her surgery and it was lovely to see them chatting away together.
Yoga yesterday and I managed to miss the torrential downpours! The car park though was full of water filled potholes so took some negotiating! You'd have been fine ,Frith!
Happy Tuesday everyone10 -
Your bread sounds lovely DD, I’m ok with a 3 strand plait but am yet to attempt the PH 8 strand special!
Enjoy your sibling lunch VJS.
For yesterday,
Very breezy day and lots of rain, a big branch came off one of the beech trees and just missed our shed!
The field next to the cottage was ploughed up, the tractor being followed by the ubiquitous seagulls.
Food shop for us and also picked up some more food for small dog, large queues at all garages on route.
Did a wardrobe swap around and all summer clothes tucked away in the spare room.
Smoked haddock kedgeree for tea followed by Uni Challenge then Silent Witness.
It’s definitely getting chillier so extra blanket popped on the bottom of the bed.
