pouring with rain and floods locally yesterday.
dull and intermittent rain today, not seen the sun at all.
First WI meeting since Feb 2020 and I was unable to go then
good to see people then this afternoon a very soggy Pétanque game which we had to cut short as it rained again .
Everyone I meet tells me how much better I look ,wish I could see and feel it .Sleep is still an aspiration but I suppose it will come

1 We popped out for errands, pharmacy and car parts ordered, we aren’t sure if the car will last much longer but we have tried and couldn’t have lasted without DH’s skills.
2 Used up things from the fridge to create chicken wraps for tea.
3 Made a start on clearing some clutter.
4 Yankee candle burning away and smelling wonderful.
5 Ordered in some speciality animal food, and they gace me fifteen percent off, it will be delivered frozen later in the week.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and I did another 30 minutes or so of digging and tidying up on the allotment.
3) My brother popped in to borrow an envelope!
4) Did a roast for tea with potatoes, parsnips, carrots, peas and stuffing.
5) Been watching television most of the evening.12 -
For a couple of days.
1. Went to local community market in Sunday - like with a few people and local food was brought.
2. Time spent in the garden - tidying and loads of runner beans picked.
3. Chat with a neighbour.
4. Finally managed to get in touch with BA.
5. Work is becoming worse. There is such a division between people and people do not seem concerned about others. Patients also seen to think an appointment time is irrelevant and they arrive when they feel like it and expect to be seen immediately.
6. Chat with DS1 on the phone. He had told us that most petrol stations around here have very limited petrol/ diesel due to shortage of HGV drivers.10 -
For yesterday,
As with SSue the weather was meh with rain & cloud, did a food shop and popped a few extra store cupboard bits in as building up reserves.
Over to see girlie, managed to stay dry but she was in a skittish and cantankerous mood, suspect it’s down to the change in seasons.
Made a loaf in the afternoon, a 50/50 with added pumpkin seeds.
Arrangements made for a meal out with our friend next week.
Late night wander under the beech trees, enjoying the full moon and transition into autumn.

I read popped as pooped! Added colour to that!
Hen checked!
Ships Log!
Had sweet and sour prawns last night, served with golden rice (Long Grain!). Very tasty and as I use the surplus discount store, got some strawberries with ice cream as well. Had the 99 flake that was in the press a few weeks back that said they had none, but the surplus shop had! Oh the shelves were full! Empress licked the bowls again!
Watched another film on the amazon. Something's Gotta Give Cocoa, proper Bourneville, and cheese was taken. Very good cheese from the discount surplus shop!
Packing bags now as tour appears to be on, but the first chance at Madison Square Gardens for Billy Joel is too close to the day, so looks like Boston or next March! Keep eyes on!
Bags packed for the Not Quite Coney Island Tour! Details soon! Empress will be looked after by our neighbour. Our WattsUp group has cat sitters on it!
Saw the chief of these pages on the box this morning saying switch! Again I say have been with SP for over twenty years and have managed to switch in deal every so often. I have been within £20 a year of the best deals throughout and last year no deal I got in October could be beaten on the switch sites! He was saying that it could go to £1,500 a year!! Mark the Admiral's words, it will not. I will tell you now that deals will be back in early December, which will mean that I will fix again for free! There is no need to keep jumping! Although the switch site has no offers, and Sergie has done a runner, my supplier does have exclusive offers every so often. The rate I bagged is not longer available! Get that WHD!
Now as I wear the slippers (Deck shoes DfV), cardigan and pipe, my time in the yard is needed! Fill my boots!
Take that as it!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -
Morning all - well, nearly.
Been AWOL on the IoW - isle of wight festival.
Pleased to see the Admiral's come aboard.
Pleasures for the last whenever
1. Nice to be at a festival after too long.
2. Helped by the weather
3. and the great people - fellow oxfam volunteers and punters
4. some great bands - including Duran Duran, Kaisers (despite the controversy, which was nothing), Liam Gallagher, James, and some unheard of people who were fab. Tom Jones was a disappointment.
5. My fabulous car/camper - so nice to be warm and comfy.
6. Spending lots of time with DS and seeing how well he got on with the job.
Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
My day so far!Up early and in and out work in 45 minutes. Quick chat with the delivery driver for shop two along from ours…we were both remarking on the darkness! The regional differences in being addressed. Two weeks ago on ‘tother side of country I was called lass, this morning I was called doll which is probably a more Glasgegian term.Quick doggy walk in the dark and then an hour later he jumped in the boot and off we went to the big park. We’d a lovely walk round this morning. Found a conker…I know where the chestnut trees are now so shall keep an eye out for some more. He wagged his tail the full way round. Just a happy doggy.Home and a DD2 who has been very poorly since Thursday managed to get dressed and out we went for a wee while.Did a few things whilst out. Bought GN birthday present using a gift card I’d had stuff refunded on.Went to garden centre for a scone. Popped in to supermarket for stuff for mum then up to mums. She’s fine after her fall. Bit sore but nothing broken. Sorted out her meds and then hoovered. And then home.
Popped up to a friend who’s having to self isolate with a wee gift to cheer her up and took her doggy a walk. Then home! Watched Manhunt. I do like Martin Clunes. He always moulds into whichever character he takes on so well.Chatted to sister re mum. I’d said I’d update her re the fall.We are having some leftover food for tea tonight. It’s been a dry day , wee breeze.10 -
