For yesterday,
Another warm, sunny day so washing dried on the line.
Set up a small pole grid and worked equine girlie over it, she didn’t put a hoof wrong.
A couple of preps ahead Mabon - autumn equinox- updated the seasonal decs on the mantlepiece and changed the door wreath.
Watched and enjoyed GBBO although, unlike Frith I wasn’t prepared snack wise, and we had to make due with a choccie biscuit.
The full moon rising above the trees, tinged orange, beautiful.

Be prepared. That is how the Admiral keeps ship shape!
Lots back from Ryde Hovercraft!
One does not just have a scone? Cream first or Jam! Served with tea?
Ships Log
Another helping of sweet and sour prawns for dinner last evening, this time served with steamed sticky rice (Long Grain in the pan!) The freezer is nearly empty for its defrost, only pie and chips left! Details later! Then as we get the discount surplus shop, some strawberries and ice cream again! With the 99 flake! Proper! Empress licked the bowls clean!
Empress was out the front door last night and Ms Admiral tried to call her back. As she is the ship's cat, she only comes to the call of the sea and the Admiral. She had some treats!
Autumn has come! That means leaves in the yard soon. Did the yard yesterday, all ship shape and good.
Did the points for the surplus shop on the web. Five weeks from the two £5 vouchers. Will be converted into fizzy water later! All free!
Sergie is still AWOL!
Watched the Netflix last night, Shanghai Noon. Fizzy water and cheeses were consumed! I understand that a report in France says cheese is good for you!
Main Sail is up, all is good!
Edit
Sorry to dock the boat again, but the Facebook advert scams are flowing today! I would advise that persons use eitehr Edge or Chrome and install the extension
McAfee Webadvisor.
This is free and will block suspicious sites! Remember, if it is too goo to be true, it is a scam!
I reported three sites to Facebook on August 24th! All three still have the pages up and links to websites affering goods at ridiculous porices. Some cybersit on disolved company names! To date Facebook is still running these adverts!
How McAfee Webadvisor works quicker than the Facebook moderators!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
Ahoy there Admiral ,good to meet you
A mixed bunch for the last few days
1 managed to cut things back and fill the garden waste bin (my gardener is away )
2 Good first WI meeting and going for a walk to ‘go green ‘ on Friday ,I walk (hobble ) with friends most days but this will be a different route
3 weight loss continues albeit slowly
4 DGD seems to be enjoying Freshers week !but has met some lecturers
5 I bit the bullet and have started some bereavement counselling at the hospice .
I realised I am struggling,I need to sleep without continually waking hearing DH breathing .
It sounds so disloyal to him to want it to stop ,but I need a good memory, that sounds garbled but I know what I mean .
The Hospice is v anxious to help following the terrible failings in his care and they are the ‘experts ‘ so will give them a chance ,Anyway a very nice ,practical lady ,who was matter of fact rather than patronising, hopefully it will be positive12 -
Sue - you did all you could for OH, it's about your needs now. I think there's nothing wrong with wanting rid of bad memories. Bereavement counselling sounds like a good plan.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. a decent sleep - still some catching up to do though
2. getting through the washing pile
3. a nice soak in the bath catching up with events in Ambridge
4. aubergine pasta bake for tea
5. an early night - feel more human today.
have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Good afternoon
Bala ???? Missing you x
S Sue - the therapy sounds an excellent positive move forward. I'm sure you have lots of happy moments waiting to be remembered.
Yesterday, DH, not a man noted for spontaneity, suggested at 7am that we go to the caravan for possibly the last few summer's days. I didn't need to be asked twice so off we set.
It was the loveliest of late summer's days yesterday; very warm but the gentlest of breezes. Today the breeze is stronger but it's still sunny and very warm in sheltered spots.
We've walked lots already, interspersed of course with coffee and cake. It's been a lovely unexpected interlude.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Bala, hope you are okay.
Admiral, thats not a question, it's jam always jam.
I need to find pleasures to try and put some non-pleasures in their place and meanwhile try and work out what to do about the non-pleasures mind is whirling so.
1 Picked up the bits to service my car and put them on the car seat, and picked up an inhaler that was missed off my prescription.
2 Started to redecorate, completed the door wall, a full wall and the corner to the French window, but it definitely needs another coat.Started prepping the french window wall as the paint has gone back to plaster.
3 Easy food from freezer to oven for dinner, also discovered a lindor mint choc box just in date but not for much longer.
4 Upstairs all hoovered and tidied.
5 Sent off an enquiry to a dent repair place, a while back, DH backed the car into a post, to say he’s still miffed is very understated.
6 A couple of loads of washing cycled around hung out / bought in and put away.

Hope you get the non-pleasures sorted PK10

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son in a good mood and talking to a friend online. Wouldn't go to college but happy.
3) Hens OK.
4) Quite a few jobs done round the house. Bathroom cleaned. Fridge cleaned. Washing on etc. Made a big saucepan of leek and potato soup for lunch today and tomorrow.
5) Got the polyfiller out this evening and filled the kitchen wall where the plaster falls off due to rising damp (or lack of ventilation, as it is mainly the bit behind the oven). Planning to paint the bedroom ceilings, the walls of sons' bedroom then the filled wall in the kitchen. The last "big" job that needs doing (not by me) is patching up the holes where the 1970s horrible porch was vaguely attached to the house. Bigger son and I demolished it 2 years ago.
6) Got some Millie's cookie recipe dough from the freezer (I made enough for 3 batches) so I ate those whilst watching Grand Designs.
7) My mum phoned. She can't drive anymore (waiting for corneal transplant) and dad can't drive at night (waiting for cataract op) so I am going to drive them then accompany them to watch Roger McGough in a fortnight.10 -
1) made soda bread with lo oat milk (xoh is dairy intolerant and had left half a carton) - was lish
2) went for a 5k with dd2 to compensate for eating half of soda bread lol
3) supper was hm mushroom and cashew nut soup - yummy
4) and might have had it with another slice of soda bread
5) then we watched 2 episodes of GranchesterMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 127 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025
frogs eaten: 610 -
For past couple of days
1. Lunch at work on Tuesday was enjoyable as no one was trying to outdo anyone else. Afternoon went rapidly downhill though.
2. Watched GBBO.
3. Took bus to work on Wednesday as fits in better with my working pattern. It's free and saves petrol.
4. Long chat with DS1 on the phone. He is good.
5. Spanish omelette for tea with salad. Very tasty.9
