DfV A Mention! The Admiral gives thanks! Careful on the RL!
Slippers? They be deck shoes, come now!
DD Barbossa! Like it!
Ships Log Update
Over the coals last night for the Barbecue. Chicken Tikka and a couple of bangers! Last one of the season I think, but the man cave has suppliers should the weather hold! Fizzy waters were also taken as I watched the T20.
Listened to the football via the web, as I can this year! Best start to the season since Lawrie was in town! Noted The Hatters!
Done the free things for the points on the web. Have two versions now and soon will be converted in £5 vouchers for the surplus shop!
Now I have my cake and I'll eat it. Battenberg and tea is being drunk as well. Cricket on the view thing as well.
I see the Sergie has done a runner from the meerkats site, though again I see no deals available! My fix went through with my big hitter! Also put in the WHD claim if you are able!
Keep safe all!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!10 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did some weeding and digging on the allotment, "helped" by hens who were following the spade.
3) 2 loads of washing done and the house quite tidy.
4) Cauliflower and pasta cheese for dinner, with bacon bits. Then found a banana on the turn so made a banana loaf. Threw a handful of raspberries in (quite a few off the allotment) and it turned out well.
5) Smaller son's football team won.
6) Will phone my school friend just now.
7) Had too many radishes so did a jar of them in vinegar.
8) I've got a new MSE badge!
RIP to John Challis, fellow shopper at Tesco in Ludlow. I once went in a bookshop in Hereford and he happened to be doing a book signing upstairs. There was a powercut so he packed his stuff up and everyone had to leave and I ended up following him through Hereford (just because we were both going the same way). Then I went off and did some shopping, went back to my car and he was just getting in his car - parked behind mine. He gave me a look of recognition. Brother of Frith remembered he opened our fete locally and he once had a chat to my brother about the ferrets he was selling at market.9 -

For yesterday,
A lazy, Larkin kind of a day starting with bacon butties and an Archers catch up.
Rest of the morning spent in the garden, planted out last year’s hedge cuttings to fill gaps made by invasive elder, dead headed summer pots and picked some of the chocolate mint leaves to dry ready for winter tea.
Roast chicken followed by treacle tart followed by much loafing on sofas, reading books and listening to music.
Roused ourselves to take small dog around fields.
The rain came over in the evening and something very cosy about hearing it lashing against the windows.10 -
Good morning - and it's sunny again. There's something special about autumn sun. Mellow, and an unexpected bonus.
Lainey - that day sounds perfect.
Weekend pleasures.
An invite from DD for possibly the last sit of the year on the outside sofa ( on the cushions I re -covered). Their garden is such a sun trap that DD and DH moved to the shade. I didn't!
Another 'lesson' with DGD. French this time about le tele! ( can't be bothered looking for accents on the keyboard). It's great to see her more like herself each time. And there's always time for a drink and a biscuit mid lesson.
A lovely biryani/ fried rice I made almost entirely from leftover fajita chicken and other fridge lurkers. Was lovely.
Happy 🌞Monday everyone

Work Life balance. Retired!
Radishes would never make it to a jar of pickle on the boat!
Roast with sage and onion stuffing! Proper! Though the last time I accidently had a treacle pudding was when Mum accidently put broad beans on the plate. None were eaten!
Ships Log!
Had bangers and mash for dinner yesterday with the last of the garden peas and onion gravy! Then had a butterscotch Angel Delight as well! Our cat, Empress!! finished the bowls off!
Watched the T20 cricket!
Then watched another film on the viewing box. Masterminds Very good. Fizzy water was consumed.
Was at the surplus store this morning to get a few bits in and the shelves were stacked to the gunnels! Also in the store were the mince pies! Though the date said they are unlikely to make the end of December! Since the market called W stopped taking prepaid newspaper vouchers, I has only shopped at A1D! Soon in town we are getting a L store coming! We save about £150 a month by not shopping at the W!
Have chased Sergie about the nonsense! Can not find any deals yet, I think he's done a runner on people!
All safe now, anchors away!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
Hello. And hurrah the big worky days are done! ( though an early morning alarm has been set for tomorrow but I’ll be as quick as I can)
Nice doggy walk. Needed a jumper and my gilet…that’s how cool it was! ( of course I then come out of work 10 hours later and I’m slightly boiled)
Work was a tad crazy. Glad it’s done. But excellent tips today.
Hot shower and jammies on!Made pasta with chicken and veggies for tea.Mum has had another fall today but only just told me there when I phoned her. Will be round in the morning.Just going to chat with friend , waiting on my phone charging up enough!9 -
Hope your mum’s ok mhags
1) gorgeous September day, got my washing dry and my lawn raked and cut
2) then brisk walk down to get my haircut - stopped off at chemist to drop off out of date meds that mrpiano had left and the library
3) Bit of an experiment for lunch - leek, celery, mushrooms and tomatoes fried then past and and chopped walnuts added and crepe fraiche and tikka stirred in. Yummy
4) after work went for a run, back for a shower and other half of my pasta thing
5) mum and I picked up dd2 from the station and now I’m in bed grinMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
