Hello. Well today of course was another day.In at work for 5.45am for a couple of hours. Met a friend on my way out so had a good chat with them.Home. Checked that poorly person was okay to be left again and went to big park with doggy. He wagged his tail the whole way round so happy to be there!Home.Walked round to mums. Met another good friend so had a quick chat with them. Cleaned kitchen, threw out more mouldy food and cleaned bathroom. Sigh. Then had to quickly walk home as poorly person was poorly. So have been in for rest of day. Mooching around. Bit of this . Bit of that. Cleared some stuff in garden. Then the rain came on.Was lazy and ordered pizza but had a discount. It was very nice too!And the final pleasure for today…no alarm needed for tomorrow! Hu-blooming-rah! Apart from last Saturday when I was on holiday I couldn’t tell you the last one I wasn’t in at 5.30am! Yay!Oh and an extra one ( or two) beautiful sunrise and a beautiful sunset.9

Good morning - and it is too. Bright and sunny.
Ahoy there admiral
Lovely photo.DD.
Bala - hope all is well, or at least bearable.
I found the Richard Osman book a bit too clever for itself at first but it settled down, or I got used to it! And then I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the second one too.
The best day this week was one spent with DGD. Just four weeks since open heart surgery and she's already so well. It's amazing !
We did some schoolwork in the morning which I think I found more challenging than she did! In the afternoon we had a go at needle felting, trying to avoid major injury. Those needles are lethal.
We then picked her younger brother up from school and went for a burger tea.
A most excellent day.
Neighbour and DH are sharing a skip. They do this every now and then to clear out their respective garages and sheds. It keeps them happy and meant I got loads of housework done yesterday with no interruptions.
Happy Saturday everyone

1. Met a friend for coffee. We laughed and did us both good.
2. Quick chat with 2 neighbours. First time since we came back from holiday.
3. On time train journey despite being warned it may be late due to signalling problems. Also no announcement that toilets were out of order. It has been a routine announcement over the past 4 years.
4. Afternoon tea at the Ritz. It was for my Mum's 80th birthday. A lovely time was had and the sandwiches and scones were especially good. Service was very good and food was plentiful.
5. Rugby is back.9 -
Back from 5 days in Northumberland so my pleasures are:
Discovering Durham
Amazing Alnwick
Lovely Lindisfarne
Beautiful Bamburgh
Superb Seahouses
Fabulous Farnes
We had lovely sunny ☀️ weather and despite the long drive, 350 miles, I had a great time 😊

For yesterday,
Pancetta and mushrooms on toast for breakfast, good start to the day.
Time spent with the beautiful grey one, she worked well in the school and only had one minor spook going past the hedge of doom - thick hedge next to the track with small industrial units on the other side that produce strange noises!
Made a loaf for the weekend, malted flour with seeds.
Pottering around the garden in late summer sunshine.
Small dog had 10 day check-up after op, it’s taking a little time to heal but no evidence of infection. She sits on the front passenger seat ( airbag turned off and harnessed in ) and barks at random people on the pavement going through town, makes me smile every time.

Why hello Admiral Barbarossa heads up the rules of engagement here are rules not guidelines 🤣🤣🤣
For yesterday
1) one of my students (also my colleague) successfully defended her phd hooray. very minor corrections, 1 month to do them, was a very strong piece of work but until the actual viva one can't say for absolute certain what the outcome will be
2) another colleague and I went round to the newest Dr on the block's house with flowers, chocolates and prosecco - the rest of the team were on Teams - it was absolutely lovely
3) then i went for a coffee in other colleague's garden, also lovely (though does mean work i meant to do yesterday is getting done today)
4) on my way home a good friend asked if i was going to the phoenix. so guess where i ended up...
5) and on my way back from there called in at mennies in time for Newcastle v. Leeds - a very pleasant day all round
