Lainey I was in Durham on Sunday 😊
Few days away with friend. Long drive up to Durham, cathedral and river were beautiful. Onto hotel for 1 night and then another drive up to Alnwick, stunning and a must for Harry Potter fans 🧹😊. Then onto Seahouses for a disappointing fish n chips and finally to our caravan for 4 nights. Holy Island today, amazing and wine and pizza 🍕 for dinner. Very tired as could not sleep last night. Off to Bamburgh Castle 🏰 tomorrow.
Night all 💤11 -
1. Work was busy but there were 3 of us helping each other out. Had a moan about someone else who never helps others and expects help.
2. It was a relief to get home. It was a long working day for me and I stayed an extra half hour.
3. Home and found courgettes on my doorstep. I think from people down the road.
4. Made a tomato sauce from home grown tomatoes and plenty to freeze.
5. Made arrangements to meet friends on Saturday.9 -
Aw Paulie, we could have been looking around the cathedral at the same time! We love Northumberland.
For yesterday,
It rained, boy did it rain, all day.
Did get over to see equine girlie but didn’t do much due to the above, heart lifting to see her spot me from across the field and come over to the gate, I missed her too.
Made a couple of plaited loaves so the house smelt lovely.
The skies finally started clearing around 6ish, just in time for an evening walk.
Caught up on a couple of recorded programmes inc Only Connect so little grey cells exercised.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Smaller son would not go to college so I accidentally went back to sleep after that, until 9.30.
2) Did 3 batches of tomato sauce for pizzas and pasta.
3) Hens OK and I picked a bowl of raspberries while I was on the allotment.
4) I can no longer check my mortgage online so it has definitely gone. I am also signed up to a Land Registry scheme where I get an email alert if anyone tries to access or change the house deeds so they've "alerted" me to the fact that Santander were changing them - taking their charge off!
5) Did twirly pasta with chorizo for tea with the sauce from this morning. Then raspberries and yoghurt.
6) Watched Grand Designs.8 -
1) walked the dogs to the dog groomer with xoh dd2 and ds
2) then they went for coffee and I joined friends for lunch then dd2 and ds joined us for a cup of tea
3) and we went to the dog groomer to pick up two very smart spaniels (getting home to find ds’s cat had peed on my bed NOT a pleasure!)
4) after supper went to Mennies with ds.he was meeting an old school friend and I was there to watch the football - we didn’t the Liverpool match very exciting
5) and home to find my lovely daughter had turned my mattress and remade my bedMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

3. Found a tiny amount of space in the freezer!
4. Washing and ironing all done from holiday.
5. DS2 played golf at a work thing and got a hole in one. He was very happy.8 -
Good morning! Yesterday was a busy day but a satisfyingly so one.No alarm needed ( nor this morning) hurrah!Thought hmmm I’ll check when my MOT is due ( thinking I’d another 10 days or so! ) Er..that would be actually that very day so luckily the garage I use could fit me in if I left the car there. Drove down into town and left it with them. Then nipped down to my favourite florist for a few flowers ( I usually only spend a few pounds ) and then into pound land for batteries and may have also bought a rubber duck for Halloween!
Then I got on a bus! Now that was not particularly a pleasure as I have not needed to use public transport since start of March 2020 but the pleasure was it saved me a 45 minute walk uphill home ! However I kept my face mask on unlike the others on the bus! Then had to pop down to work to drop something off for DD2 so that was a nice walk there and back.Had stripped bed ( and remade before bedtime) cleaned bathrooms, hoovered and washed floors.Did a bit of gardening and hopefully more today. It started to rain yesterday evening when I was going to go back out. Planted some cyclamen and pansies and today hopefully get a start to bulbs going in. Deadheaded and cut back some plants and lifted annuals that were past their best ( with a view to using their spots for bulbs)
Sorted out my seasonal fripperies as I call them…pumpkins etc. so I have an autumnal dining table!DD2 dropped me off to pick up car and then we met at the woodlands and had a nice wander through , tried to say hello to OH’s tree but so much over grown undergrowth so we said hello! Then as I always do polished his name on the memorial board with the cuff of my jumper!Offered for free a doggy bed that was an impulse buy when I moved back here with no future thought as to where it would be stored ( hmmm under my bed!) it was a doggy advent calendar bed with pockets for every day around the side! Anyway a local lady came and picked it up so it’s gone! And that was my day.Have work supposed to be starting today but chap waiting on Covid test results so need to wait and see if he turns up.Have a lovely day.9 -
For yesterday,
A dry morning and quite warm, stood on the back doorstep and enjoyed the sunrise.
Parcel arrived in post with four SH books, as the seasons change and evenings shorten my taste runs more to murder mysteries so a couple of Christie included.
Over to see my girlie and enjoyed a catch up with fellow livery owner, horse in a flighty mood and was jumping at shadows.
Food shopping in afternoon and the emporium finally has frozen food back after it disappeared for weeks during refit, veg had been running low but even more importantly I picked up two tubs of ice-cream ☺️Late night meander around garden and lots of stars were twinkling above.8 -
For yesterday
old friends came for day ,they moved to Oxfordshire earlier this year, they came across to DH funeral, but not seen since
lovely meal out and a walk around next village
heard all about the sorting of the new house ( a new build) and the trials of sorta heavy clay garden
Feeling a bit flat today but lots To do so onwards and upwards
have good days all
Has anyone heard from Bala ? Hope she’s ok and her Dads pain is controlled6 -
Well from a good day yesterday to a not so good one today. Left feeling very frustrated with the local NHS ( who I know are stretched and strained beyond belief but at the heart of the matter people are actually people! Not numbers)
Anyway apart from all that shenanigans I got my grass cut which is just as well as the rain has arrived!Hmmm scraping barrels now…getting the loyalty points for buying a gift for a colleague.Back massage…ooh aaah ouch! The smell of my candle ‘scream berry punch’ it’s a hallowe’eny one.My doggy. Currently at my feet under the table! Dinner’s on so he’s not far!Tomorrow is of course another day10
