Good morning! The morning after the night before! Was up and out with doggy at a dark and damp 6am but came back to bed!The soggy damp bathroom saga continues but just one more night and home to my own bed and dry bathroom! With no feathers! I’m allergic to feathers and had said but there were still cushions everywhere which I’ve moved but are still here so have a low grade headache ( sinuses) and puffy eyes and stuffed up nose. Anyway I sound like a right moan I’m just ready for back home where I can breathe easily and have all my own things to hand!
Yesterday was a perfectly lovely day. Started off damp and misty for the early morning walk. Had a wander round the village ( to be fair it’s doesn’t take long) and walked through the graveyard. There are lots of lovely hanging baskets and window boxes everywhere. The trees are turning colour and it’s very picturesque. Went a couple of big doggy walks and met my boyo who’d kindly driven through for the day to doggy watch. So walked with him. The dog was just kind of like oh hello you, throw me that stick! Then we got ready for a wedding! I had brought a dress then saw the one I wore in a charity shop the day before. So I shall return the more money than I usually spend on a dress dress and I liked the one I wore. It was very comfortable. Other guests were staying in the hotel opposite us and they kindly drove us there ( middle of nowhere)
All very beautiful. Such a day filled with love and happiness and laughter and tears. It was truly joyful.
The food was amazing! The company on our table was funny and chatty we’d never met any of them before us were all chatting like old friends .An evening of chatter and music. A drunken daughter and a kind son who picked up his tired mother and drunken sister ( though in his sisters car!) We sat round the fire pit for about an hour then headed home to the cottage, I did not like the drive back as it was twisty turny country roads in pitch black. Anyway home safely and he then drove back to his house and dutifully sent a text to say he was back!Took lots of photos and created many memories.I’m just going to go to cafe for a couple of rolls and sausage then we will walk the doggy! We are stuck in the village till later as there are road closures due to an event but we’ll go to the beach later…son took the dog there last night…ya know add to the damp smell!Have a lovely day 😀12 -

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Popped out to get some hen food then fed the hens. Saved them some porridge from breakfast as well.
3) Went to the football with smaller son but lost 3-2. We stood in the terraces rather than our normal seats.
4) Had a McDonalds for tea then popped to Sainsburys.
5) Very much enjoyed the Raducanu tennis match.

1 A large travel pet carrier I had advertised on Farce book, that hadn’t sold, has sold overnight and out of the blue. The money covers the vet bill and a bit extra for the next vet bill no doubt 😊 That was a nice surprise, I was about to tell them where to go with the gazillion messages but kept calm ignored it all and sold it for the asking price.
2 Tonight is pizza from the freezer.
3 Oven cleaned, wash loads sorted, lounge sofa and things moved to clean under hoovered and mopped up.
4 Plenty of time for enjoying the wildlife in the garden, reading and writing.
5 Enjoyed the tennis.

Home again, home again , jiggety jig.
Bala - hope all is well with you.
PK - you could have a tv show! Animal Hospital. Hope they soon start to improve.
S Sue - please stop beating yourself up. You are doing so well. And so pleased DGD showed you where she is living. That will help.
Had a brilliant week away. Was exactly what we needed and the weather was so kind too.
Lots of washing, of course, but at least I won't iron most of it. I think summer dresses etc are unlikely to be needed again this year 😥. I've started to look at air bnb in Southern Spain in February. I hate being cold. But then I don't fancy airport chaos either! We'll see.
Talking of cold, before we went away I washed all my winter hats and gloves, inspired by the Prepping for Winter thread. Well, that was a mistake. Most have either developed holes or gone completely shapeless. Think I'd better start knitting!
Today started with a power cut. House alarms( not ours, we don't have one)going off at 6:30! Back on now though.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had bacon, tomatoes and a fried egg for breakfast.
3) House quite tidy and got a load of washing done.
4) Spent a few hours on the allotment which has been rather neglected this year. Had a bonfire, picked raspberries and did quite a lot of digging and weeding. The hens pootled around while I got on. I was even organised enough to take a flask with me.
5) Smaller son made a shepherd pie with me. Had this with peas. Later made some chocolate fairy cakes with raspberries.
6) Spoke to my school friend on the phone.
7) Watching the update on the paralympics and will watch Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing just now.12 -
