Good morning! We are waiting in! DD2 had a bath last night and water leaked all over the floor. ( when I say all over i mean all over! Waaaah!) we both had very quick showers this morning and more leakage! We have video evidence and all the towels provided are currently in the tumble drier ( NOT for residents use…) the clothes are on the clothes horse in the courtyard! Then as we came back from a lovely walk with a very wet doggy who’d been in the river a note tucked in the windscreen…please do not park here, this is for residents only! We are still parked there as we have to wait in for the person to see about the leaky bath!Anyway! Asides from that I had a lovely quick walk first thing as the sun was rising then we went a longer walk once we were up and dressed.Had RTC fried eggs on ooops I had a loaf of bread in my car for work that I must have missed ( honestly) toast! And I made some scones too. Served with jam.Sun is shining. We are going a-visiting today to see DD2 godmother. So we are both looking forward to catching up with them. It’s been 3 years which is just ridiculous! Though of course there was a pandemic in the midst of that time. But just so looking forward to seeing them.Sue just sending you some love. There are no wise words really. No words to ease an ache of longing that things were different. But be proud of your grandchildren and what they’ve achieved and will go on to achieve.💜11

1 Er ops kind of a pleasure, I got up put the bin bags out, went back up and fell asleep again!
2 After my balancing out bills, DH pointed out we do need to get some bits so we went to Lidl, and spent a square £44, of which 7.98 was middle of lidl carabinas and animal lactose free milk and full fat mince £6.49.
3 Refreshed all the waters and saw various birds and insects and the flashes of the damsel flies.
4 Thunder and lighting I am rather hoping for rain now I’ve got the washing in.
5 With the animals I use shake and vac and leave it down for a day before hoovering it up, today the bag split, plumes of dust in the bedroom just now, so I fixed it re hoovered opened all the windows, waited for the dust to settle dusted and had to change the bed covers also handy, a pleasure it’s all done and dusted ho ho.

Sue hugs to you and congratulations to your granddaughter 😊
Lainey, I’m glad little dog 🐶 is feeling better.
Recent pleasures:
Enjoying the sunshine ☀️ but it is too hot for me! Welcome dips in the hot tub, possibly the last this year as I’m off to Northumberland on Sunday.
Worktops oiled and looking better but I’m still looking at ways of removing marks from them. Sanding I suppose?
Chinese takeaway at friends last night as we could sit out and watch her twinkly lights come on. A few glasses of 🍷 May have been consumed.
Pub lunch by the river with bestie today. Food may not have been the best, but always good to see her 😊
Leftover Chinese tonight, as usual my pleasures are mostly food and 🍷!
Looking forward to it being cooler tomorrow but I will miss the sunshine.
Night all 💤

I hope you are OK, SuffolkSue, and that the starting at Aston goes well. I've always been very fond of Birmingham as it is where we went in the school holidays if we were going further afield (by train). I'd recommend the jewellery quarter. My mum's first job was in Aston Cross then she met my dad, who was at Aston Uni...
PK - we've had about 10 drops of rain. 32 degrees today.
A day of ups and downs...
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son refused to go to college. He is allegedly watching a youtube science video. It has taken a day of negotiations for this to happen. He will be up in a minute to talk to me about mitosis.
3) Hens OK and I cleaned out their sleeping quarters.
4) Trumpet fanfare - I paid my mortgage off.
5) Roast dinner this evening.
6) Just watched Grand Designs.
7) Booked a ticket to this: https://www.worcestercathedral.co.uk/whats-on/space-spectacular-sound-and-light-show
In less good news, our nearest town is a little bit on fire. We could see the smoke from here (earlier, it's dark now) and we are 10 miles away.

Good morning. Just been a very quick doggy walk in my jammies and to start another day.Pleasures for yesterday? The main one catching up with my very dear friend all afternoon. So much love for her and the relationship between godmother and goddaughter. It was so warm we sat in the shade in her garden and just blethered all afternoon. The stunning countryside between where we are staying and where she is. It’s quite different to our local countryside at home. Both beautiful in their own ways but definitely different.Doggy walking amongst autumn leaves.Less than pleasant? Going to the local and renowned pub/restaurant. With beautiful gardens. Can we sit outside please. Sorry we are not serving food outside. There might be wasps. It was about 28o. We could drink outside. But not eat. Then we chose our food. I always have the same thing but I chose differently. I’ll have the steak and mushroom pie thought I . Just for a change. Two very small pieces of meat were all that was in the dish. The pastry which was just plonked on top was so hard I could hardly cut it and I’d to pick it up with my fingers and sink my teeth into it and even then struggled. At this point we were the only customers in and no one approached us at all. And I very rarely complain about food but this was complaint worthy. So we weren’t charged for my meal but I’d still the disappointment of not eating what I’d expected and the lack of customer service. Anyway rant over. We won’t be back.Less than pleasant? The bathroom. When we came in on Tuesday there was a distinct smell of damp downstairs ( upstairs is fine) but it’s a dark little cottage surrounded by trees and I thought it just maybe hadn’t been aired…no the bath / shower has been leaking for goodness knows how long and is absolutely saturated underneath the floorboards, a bit of wall has now been ripped off since the plumber came in yesterday and the stronger smell of damp released!Anyway! I’m away from work! We have lovely doggy walking areas! And chocolate is on special offer at the co-op! Birds are singing and I can see autumn trees all around.Have a good day12

Scary stuff Frith!
For yesterday,
Another hot one, windows open first thing to catch the cooler air.
Over to see equine girlie, it was 4 years since my mate and I took a trip to the Midlands to pick her up, happy gotcha day beautiful horse.
The company that sell her supplement had included a free bag of horsey treats in the latest package, they looked and smelt distinctly like liquorice & were rejected by both mine and my pal’s horse. Pleasure was I didn’t pay for them.
Made bread and being oh so thankful for my north facing kitchen, good rise though ☺️Tea was prawn and pepper frittata except someone forgot to put potatoes in so guess it was just a baked omelette.
Another cracking sunset.11 -
hope its all under control now Frith

Good evening
Crikey Frith. That looks scary!
S Sue. Glad you made it to the wine tasting.. Meal out will be a lovely treat. Enjoy
Oh Ampersand. How frustrating.
We've had three wonderful days and then this morning it rained. A lot. But then this afto has been hot and sunny again until about an hour ago. More rain now with thunder and lightning for good measure.I
Went to the nearby RSPB reserve yesterday. The puffins have gone now but there are lots of other birds, particularly gannets. It's amazing watching them swooping about and never once bumping into each other. We took out a year's membership whilst we were there. Think it might be MSE cos we go often. And it's a good cause.
Today we've both been like limp lettuces. I think a year of three close family members having major surgery, with covid restrictions etc on top, has finally caught up with us. Fortunately everyone is well now, touch wood, so we can dare to look forward to new adventures.
Happy evening everyone
