Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A massive lie in! I read a message from my sister that said, "Let's meet for lunch" and it was already lunchtime!
2) Hens OK.
3) All housework type jobs done. Still pleased with my shifty round in my bedroom.
4) Jacket potatoes for tea.
5) In bed with 1 hwb and will watch Grand Designs then the Last Leg. Enjoyed watching the boccia earlier today.
6) I'm steadily reading back through the previous threads and have reached 2016. 2009-10 was a low point for me - glad to read past that!
7) After moving the wardrobes yesterday, something glinted and caught my eye today and I have found the knife that bigger son made at the Victorinox knife factory. I've sent him a photo and he said he wondered where it had gone!11 -
Hugs to bala and vjsmum
goodness bit late on a school night. Mmmm wonder why that might be
1) gorgeous day got my washing washed and dried
2) washed the kitchen floor - I have a weekly plan and seems to be working
3) bit of a mix up at supper - dd2 was going to cook sweet corn fritters but thought I was out tonight so the smells of cooking coming up to the office was her supper. But I made a very yummy Greek salad for me
4) then off to the pub to watch the Scotland game - mr g had booked but I knew he was on holibags so I sat on my own. Another Friend was on next table - introduced me to his friends as a millwall fan - said it was a joke herumph. There’s joking and there’s well...
5) then an hour later mr e and dr m arrived hence the late night. Oh yeah Scotland lost 2-0 :-(MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hoping Villagelife is ok?
Reading back must be very interesting Frith.
For yesterday,
It felt slightly warmer but still grey and overcast, the pleasure is there is sun in the forecast for next week, yes please!
Worked equine girlie on the lunge, she got very excited going over trot poles and did her best Arabian horse impression, head and tail up with lots of snorting.
Soup and crusty bread for lunch.
Out and about doing various errands and the pleasure of coming home to a cup of tea.
Phone call from eldest DSS, his coaching role abroad has been made permanent and he will be home for a couple of weeks while they sort his work visa out, so so happy for him as real opportunity.10 -
And hurrah the big worky days are done! Work is not over as I still have the next three mornings of up and at ‘em early but the big days are done. Was full of good intentions last night about getting up early and going to the park…nah…I’ll just snuggle on the sofa and watch Holby instead!Busy day. Excellent company in the kitchen. Doubled over laughing at times being ridiculously silly and then dancing at the start of the day and at the end. And so much singing! And a little bit of tippage in the jam jar!And home and hello doggy. So nice to see you too.Lordy so much to be done tomorrow! But tonight is hot shower and jammies on!10

Recent pleasures:
haircut on Wednesday morning, nice to get it tamed again, but my she has put her prices up! Have it cut every 7 weeks but now colour it myself to save a trip in between and save a few ponds (MSE)!
Also got my eye brows waxed and tinted, so not so hairy 😊
Sis in law and partner here for takeaway kebabs/burgers in the evening. Our treat as she is moving in with partner and donated her bar stools and large brass type mirror, which I am hoping to spray/paint silver to go in my dining/kitchen. Any tips?
Big dentist appointment again yesterday morning, temporary crown fitted, hope it lasts while I’m away in Northumberland.
Car serviced yesterday before long trips, eek it needed 3 new tyres! More money heading out of the door ☹️
Off to the solicitor this morning to finally do my will after 40 years of saying I would after my first divorce and especially after my near death experience 4 years ago.
Have a great Friday 😊7 -
For yesterday,
Worked my girlie under saddle in the school and she went beautifully after the previous day’s shenanigans, my mercurial mare.
Car dropped off at garage with two new tyres needed, as always village garage gave good service and price quoted inc fitting plus disposal of old, pleasure of no hidden extras.
Finally got to speak to vet about lump results from small dog and oh so pleased non cancerous but due to positioning it will need removal which will be tough as I lost her big sister under sedation.
The sun came out in the afternoon and it’s finally due to warm up next week, not quite winter jumpers yet then.
Tasty tea, smoked salmon and spinach quiche.

all the best laineyt with the sedation xxx
1) after a very tough day at work which quite frankly brought no mse pleasuresgood catch-up with 2 colleagues at 5 (online)
2) then lovely evening at the botanics courtesy of lifelonglearning. lots of friends in real life, a pig roast (and veggie option), wine and glorious weather. dd2 walked me down with the dogs which meant i got away from my computer
3) then my lovely friend with terminal cancer did an hour on the history of the blues, he on guitar, his friend on harmonicas. voice not good due to chemo drugs but lovely lovely evening
4) dd2 drove down to pick up mum and me. she arrived early and another friend (doing the photos) encouraged her to come stand at the back so she heard quite a bit of the music
5) then back to mum's for a cuppa and footie. Well I did! Mum was a bit concerned how long I was in the bathroom then dd2 realised I’d have put the footie on so they brought my cuppa through 🤣 at 3-0 I said ‘come on England, another 2’ to which mum said ‘oh no that’s what I don’t like when it’s a whitewash, it would be nice for Hungary to get a goal, look at that poor goalie’s face’ lol. Next match I’ll be back in mennies watching with the 2 friends mentioned above. Then home, Last Leg at Tokyo, first section of live from Toyko to see the highlights of the bike road races and bed.
and now at the meeting, still in my nightie and dressing gown lolMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hi
almost a day off…quick doggy walk in the dark then I was in at 6am for 75 minutes so back home and a dog in the car by 7.30am and off to the park we went, lovely walk. A bit drizzly and wearing a jumper. I like my walk route there. Then back home and made DD2 pancakes with the very last egg and the last drop of flour. Then peace and quiet as she went to work.
Well peace and quiet for a little while. Then niece called and had a nice chat with her but multi tasked and did a little ironing . I really don’t iron much anymore ( and I was an ironer!) but there were a few linen things, shirts and napkins that needed doing.
Then it was pharmacy for mums stuff then up to hers and out to supermarket. Sigh! But it’s done. And I got 2 nice big jumpers in the sale rail. One was £4 and the other £5.Then home and quick doggy walk. Phoned sister when I got back in.
Then did a bit of a tidy up of front flower pots. But still feel a bit dizzy going up and down so did what was needed. Then made a very delicious pasta with our home grown courgettes and beans and pepper from a friend’s greenhouse. Had second helpings and told DD2 don’t say we never have veggies. I seriously cannot be bothered cooking when I’ve been working all day so we’ve been making do this last week …I did remind her she can cook too!
Friend called to chat briefly and then said she’ll call back later but I think I might be sleeping! As alarm is set for stupid o’clock.Three more stupid o’clocks to go!11
