Hello.
Alarm went off at 4.15am which is utterly ridiculous! Very quick doggy walk and then into work. Then it was in to far side of town to get flooring stuff and outside lighting. You know finish off the porch a year later! In and out of industrial estate roads from one place to another and every single person I’ve dealt with today has been so lovely.Bumped into a friend so quick chat with her.
Quick nip into a charity shop down that end of town. Three tops that will be coming on my oh so near but far holiday. Of course a stripy top amongst them.
Home.Snooze.
Up and washed car.Walk down woods with DD2. Been another lovely day here.Oh and yesterday I found a £20 note in my jeans pocket! Nice and clean as it had been washed 😆12 -
oo nice find mhags (does that count as laundered money?) hope you're feeling better soon
goodness peoples I am 58 (2 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 11 + 13 + 17) and i too love binary frith i am particularly thrilled that i live at #5 aka 101 though hopefully not my place of nightmares! and of course i'm now working out different bases for 58. b3: 10011 b4: 322 ... aha B15 is 3D so my life is also now in 3D ok i'll move on now for 5 from yesterday...
I had a super duper birthday
1) opened pressies and cards - liquorice from xoh, a silk dress from dd2, flowers from dd1, 4 molesworth books from mum (I have not read back in jug agane) and a year of classical music from xoh's brother and sil (the ones who came to stay earlier this summer)
2) quick phd supervision (student totally on track to submit october which could count as a birthday present!) gbf whisked me and dd2 off to the Falkirk Wheel https://www.scottishcanals.co.uk/falkirk-wheel/ where we had lunch watching the wheel then did the longer trip at 2 and we got the front seat yay
3) then we went to the Kelpies https://www.visitscotland.com/info/see-do/the-helix-home-of-the-kelpies-p889261 and had tea and cake
4) then quick supper of cheese and tomato on toast and candle cookies (see nod to the two Ronnies below)
5) then the pub for a birthday drink with a couple of friends (many of the usual suspects were away due to bank holiday w/e but the smallness of the group was lovely). the one who has terminal C gave me his copy of St Matthews passion which was a bit emotional to say the least. then one of the barmaids, having finished her shift, joined us and gave me a well-loved copy of old possum's book of practical cats. had a super chat with her then got introduced to 3 'new' friends and also saw ex colleague who I haven't seen since BC (before covid)

That's major Wow! factor, all day long, DD!
No idea how I arrived at 75, even knowing 'tweren't thus🤭🙃.
1. Short time ago.
2. 5 more figs, 😋. More courgette glut to be grated+frozen for successive Waitrose recipes through till next year. Some with h-g garlic+special huile d'olive will be lush shortly, yum👍👌.
3. Online discount coupon eventually worked for &'s sole hard copy of any newspaper, Saturday grauniad. £1.50 off any copy bought>4 October, so a fair few pennies to be saved yet.
4. The last Le Carré, 'Agent Running in the Field'.....superb. A keeper. & thinks on to where he'd be with all that's happening now.
5. MrT vouchers eventually converted, despite wretched notspottery over 4+hrs! Oldest Northern hemisphere Uni friend+& will lunch thus for her birthday, as we do. Last year, lockdown forced us away from Town of Gown Café Rouge - sadly 'Permanently Closed' now. But The Bridge - yes, another chain, but excellent last year. Emmaüs is nearish by to rummage, rather than 2 CS's in town. Our sort of Bonne Anniversaire for her in 2/3 wks.😁

yes Bala 2 is a prime number ( only divisible by itself and 1) what confused me initially was that when I was at school 1 was a prime number but it isn’t now
Rmembered a heated discussion when DGD was in year 4 when she insisted it wasn’t and googled it .Can’t remember the reasoning behind the change .

1 used to be a prime number but not for a while https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_number#:~:text=In the 19th century many,in a more awkward way. so endeth tonight's maths lesson
and now for today
1) didn't set the alarm, slept till 9:10, no hangover pleased to say
2) after a leisurely breakfast walked the boys up to mum's and I ended up staying for lunch - very nice chicken and tomato soup
3) watered my tomatoes and courgettes - nothing like your haul Ampers but pleased with my tomatoes
4) 4pm and time for my online conference orientation session. when we got put into breakout rooms was delighted to find the facilitator was good friend from a few years ago who i'd lost touch with (as he was friends with both myself and xoh i think he couldn't cope with the marriage breakup)
5) watched The Last Leg of Tokyo 2020 with dd2
and now i'm in bed hooray for bed night all, early start at my conference

DD - in binary I live at 100, which is interesting as there are only 6 cottages!
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son has gone off on the perfect day out - to his girlfriend's then to mini golf then an evening with girlfriend in the pub. Smaller son also jolly today as the first of his friends has passed his driving test.
3) Hens OK.
4) House reasonably tidy.
5) Slightly annoying family this morning in that my sister kept forgetting to tell me when to pop round, to the point that bigger son just popped in on his way to his girlfriend's and I still haven't seen them at all! Then my brother said to pop round and we'd go for a dog walk. Drove down and he'd forgotten and gone to the library!
I was slightly huffy after that so went to get some petrol then looked round the charity shops. Then went to NT place (not my usual one) and I received the saddest text I have ever had. As with all such things in my life, there has to be some farcical element attached. I was looking round the outdoor bookshop then got a text from a former colleague with great detail about "my" pupil's funeral and how positive it was (but still terribly sad). Of course I strode straight out of the bookshop and noticed the low beam as my hair started to touch it so had to basically throw myself towards the ground to avoid being knocked out. A helpful lady came up so I had to not cry (about the text) but ended up going, "Oh, that was close AHAHAHAHAHA" hysterically. "No, I'm fine, fine, FIIINNNEE" then I had to stand under a tree so I could pull myself together. Of course I had chosen a tree on a path that led to nowhere with a "no public" sign so I had to pretend to look at the foliage. Anyway, it was a perfect funeral (as they go) and I've been on the verge of tears ever since getting the text.
6) Spent the afternoon cooking a huge batch of curry base sauce. Enough for 4 meals (x 3 people) is now in the freezer.
7) Smaller son and I had our traditional canal basin walk and Tesco trip.
8) Watched Casualty and the Last Leg.11 -
Frith, so sorry for your hurt.
Sue and DD. Thanks for prime number lesson. How dare they change the rules !
OH and I appear to have resumed our respectful, considerate relationship. A lot of thinking took place over the last 4 months. For both of us. We are moving in the right direction and I cannot tell you how grateful I feel. He has been so supportive, my gratitude is tangible. I have changed too. Going back into a parent/family situation gave me the opportunity to notice learned behaviour and to make adjustments. Nothing major but subtleties sometimes make a huge difference.
Happycas, still thinking on you. Hope all is well.
